Thanks Mike. It's nice to see credit given where credit is deserved. There's so many analogies that connect to knapping, such as how each has a unique shape and purpose, that some points we make have flaws yet are still quite functional, and how sometimes being put through fires (struggles) can actually refine us. I could go on and on... but bottom line, good job buddy. May all who watch this be blessed and think about the creator next time we create.

People always try to separate god from science, but they are one, they are gods ways of the universe. Thank you for explaining it in this video.

Fully agree! Are you a spaller or a slabber? Your points are very well knapped and are a great inspiration for me! Thank you!!

Both - thank you for your kind words - but believe me, I am still learning like you are. That's the great thing about knapping - you never learn it all.

The concept of god makes everything so complicated. On the contrary, science is the ultimate occupation that makes everything simple and understandable.

Right you are, although some rocks like obsidian and other volcanic rocks are still being created. That is very cool, too.

If I had the silica MIke was showing everyone in the vidio I would be making a sigfificent amount of of money on Mike's Gem Silica. I believe Mike showed us his best piece of Gem Silica to get us to pay attention to what God's potencial was in reguards to getting your attention. It is buy far my favorite material in the world and more than likely the one of the rarest rocks god ever made. Sorry about my spelling I have a disability.

Mike, it is even cooler that what you explain. Rocks actually have a spirit or intelligence and are ALIVE! Everything that is alive MUST have a spirit.

Mr. Cook I think about this a lot as I make my points. I am glade to see that I am not the only one. I have a question is there any way that I could trade you something for some of your stone? I want something really pretty to make a projectile point or two out of. I must also admit that your knapping skills are an inspiration to not only myself but a lot of beginners out there. Thank you for your information.

Mike, It's soooo good to hear this in a day and age where GOD seems to be a word you aren't supposed to say for fear of offending someone. Keep up the awesome work Brother!

Believe it or not I shot it with my I phone. The quality is pretty amazing. I will keep you in mind when I get the point finished - I would be wise to not argue with God or with someone who shoots a bow like you do. (grin)

Rocks form at different times. It's that time of formation that allows us to date them. The Earth is 4.3 billion years old. Perhaps no rocks from back then still exist, but I'm pretty sure they do in some places, and it may even be possible, due to geological upheavals, to get access to some of the oldest stuff.
Not sure on the details, though. Ask that geologist about the details. And share them with me!

  • @Sines314
    @Sines314 Před 11 lety

Because I'm a stickler, the Earth is 4.3 billion years old. So the rocks are BILLIONS of years old. Which is even cooler. Or hotter, given the temperature of the Earth back then ^_^
Had to point it out, because the natural world is so often even more amazing than we think it is, even if we already think it's amazing. It can always top itself.
    TLDR; Earth rocks

I do not understand, I work a mine with a Geologist and we mine the very rock that Mike was showing in his vidio. My Geologist friend tells me the rocks in the seams we harvest comes out of at 70 million year old area.

By admitting or saying the name GOD at least you admit presents of such an intinity.

wildworksmedia, God couldn't want you to own that blade Mike is making, because I believe He wants ME to own it. I don't shoot a bow (or the arrows that are in the bow), nor do I knap, but I do know God and that He is no respector of persons. He could very well want a plain ordinary special ed teacher to be the recipient of that blue rock creation - as we mold minds into productive works of human art. Amen.

While I find volcanics message a bit... unneccesary (I'm an atheist too, I just choose to focus on the fascinating science, rather than on the theology), your claim that saying "God" admits the existence of such a being is... nonsensical.
I can say "The Grinch" and not believe there is some furry green weirdo trying to 'steal' Christmas, right? What about saying "God" or "Yahweh" is different?
Apologies to Artofishi, if he wished to avoid theological arguments in his comments.
