    Great video, the best I could find.
    Fluence 1.5dci
    I've a fluence, there's loads of them in Ireland. Theres a plate with 2 bolts covering the fuel input to the engine which I'd recommended removing as its hard to click off the input otherwise

    Thanks so much for this video, i've followed it step by step and got everything setup. I had my priming bulb replaced as my factory part had a slit in it and it was letting in air into the fuel lines. I used a cheap (Ebay) replacement bulb to bypass the issue. I think it's come round to bit me in the ass as im trying to bleed it like you did and nothing is happening the "bulb" just compresses and refills with air quickly rather than slowly as if it was pulling up diesel through the 1 way valve. I have contacted my local renault dealer to see if they have any in stock . Fingers crossed this solves my issue. Once again thanks for the informative video

      I'm glad it helps an yeah the valves are common in them primers so it sounds like you have it cracked, thank you for watching.

    For anyone like myself who had a faulty primer hand pump. Grab a small plastic bag and wrap it round the end of the fuel pipe when you squeeze let the bag loos then tighten around end when releasing. It creates a valve and will pull fuel through.

    How often would you advice you change a fuel filter?

    The engine compartment looks quite different from my 2012 Fluence 1.5 dci. Is that bleeding procedure the same? The changing of the filter itself sure is the same for both Megane 3 & fluence. By the way, your vid is the clearest of all those on this topic. Also good tip lubricating those o-rings, thanks!

  • @valentinodelfino6484

    Hi, my megane 3 has problems starting after being let outside for the night. I found some air bubbles in the fuel lines, after the yellow part on the top of the primer bulb. I don’t see any cracks or visible damage, but when I pump it, it makes like a rattling noise (I don’t know if this is normal), as if there was air passing through (indeed). What do you think, any leak? (at a first glance, I can’t see any). Fuel filter? Or the primer bulb itself?
    PS: after it stars, it idles and drives normally and with no errors on the dashboard, but I can see the mpg got significantly worse, especially when idling

    • @Martysworkshop
      @Martysworkshop  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello, well the rattling in the fuel primer would be the one way valve, but the primers are quite common for drawing in air on these cars, the problem with this fault is if you had a crack in the primer or or a line you would have a visible leak, more often or not if it is drawing in air over night it is normally a seal where a pipe connects or the seals ether end of the hand primer, but it is very hard to pinpoint. Thank you for watching

      None really, you always get a little trapped in places but any air in the fuel system can cause issues.

    • @Martysworkshop
      @Martysworkshop  Před 3 lety +1

      I dont know if the filter could cause your fault as it sounds like you car is drawing in air when left for a period of time, the hand pump in the line in common for this to would suggest that first other than that check all the pipe connections, i hope this helps.

    Marty I've got a 1.5dci Renault Clio 3 ran out of diesel I think it may have an air lock it's not pulling up diesel from the filter and won't prime with the hand primer quarter of a tank of diesel put back in and still won't pull the diesel up.
    What's the best solution?

    • @Martysworkshop
      @Martysworkshop  Před 3 lety

      Quite often the primer valve can go faulty so what you need to do is put you disconnect the pipe somewhere after the primer, squeeze the primer then put your finger over the end of the pipe and block it tight then release the primer then remove your finger , just repeat till fuel comes up to where you have disconnected then reconnect an continue to pump primer, if this doesn't work then you need to buy a universal hand premier and connect it to the end of the pipe to draw fuel up, i hope this helps.

      myself who had a faulty primer hand pump. Grab a small plastic bag and wrap it round the end of the fuel pipe when you squeeze let the bag loos then tighten around end when releasing. It creates a valve and will pull fuel through. Didn't need to dissemble anything
