I have a pugilist swash roll with accurized, fluted, range MW
It's nice but the weapon model is so insanely huge it's distracting for me. I can't bring myself to love it.

I love the sound and general theme of this sluggeroo and how it synergizes so well with melee kits. Don’t sleep on the origin trait seasonal helmet mod with this thing too folks 👌🏽
This is such a tedious and convoluted style of play that's super impractical and easily countered with half a braincell. Just a tryhard build that's stupid annoying not even having any real value to your team.
I know it’s great, but it feels like the barrel is so large and the smallest slug shell comes out of it, it’s really odd how it feels sometimes

Yeah, I’ve crafted over 30 weapons so far and this shottie is the worst one imo.
I really want to craft this because like Gleaux said, with shadebinder this thing is like an exotic. Pugilist and headstone can get you massive uptime for abilities.
I run his build and have this crafted, it's insane. With eye of another world, 100 str and kickstart you get full melee energy back off a penumbral blast headshot combo.
Not to mention that both Pugilist and right hook make getting the headshot even easier after your freeze.

@@J.P.L1ft pretty sure it was corkscrew, Accurized, pugilist, headstone, range. But just play around with the barrel and masterwork until you find a combo that works with your weapons and armor
This slug is actually really good for Golgoroth. Triple Tap + Surrounded or even Focused Fury has some crazy DPS. It's like a very specific legendary for bosses that stand close to you.

I really like the depth you go into with weapon reviews. You tie it into certain playstyles and subclasses that makes me understand where certain weapons can fit in
What's weird about it is that while on Titan, Headstone also grants a Diamond Lance if you have that aspect slotted. As I understand it, that's only supposed to proc on ability kills, but it also works on stasis weapons with headstone, including No Reprieve and Forensic Nightmare.

I believe Surplus is massively underrated. My best Hung Jury has Surplus on it, didn't think much about it because I love the Firefly, but when I got a red border Frozen Orbit and used it, I realized how much better Surplus was making the weapon. Frozen Orbit was unusable before, but I love this one. I will be putting it on this shotgun and I am looking forward to it being on the Traveler's Chosen.
Surplus really isn't needed when they change travelers. It's already a stat beast under surplus won't actually change it alot. Almost any other perk would have been better
surplus and elemental capacitor is still my favourite combo for weapons to make them feel great in crucible, especially on an ar or pulse.
I accidentally dismantled my only Hung Jury. An adept god roll. Now I hear it won't be in NF loot for what feels like ever. Absolutely gutted.
Surplus is one of my favorite perks.
Looking forward to getting this crafted to make a steady hands + headstone roll to pair with my steady hands + timed payload Cantata. That way no matter what the first kill comes from handling will feel great without building into it too much.

I could argue that headstone is amazing for pve as well. It’s a personal piece of cover/explosive barrel on demand.
It is a decent weapon, but the lack of aim assist really kills it for me. 30 less aim assist than heritage is extremely noticeable and makes it just straight up worse. My favourite slug at the minute has to be bonechiller with surplus and opening shot, it's got 100 handling with 3 abilities (which I almost always have) and 96 aim assist on the first shot with mods so you can't miss
Great video coolguy! Always doing the homework! On a side note i didnt realize how oppressive stasis warlock was until i went against a triple stack in trials. My whole squad lost every engagement due to being frozen and chain freezing. Was very ruff.
It's crazy how different people's red border RNG is. This was the first gun I got all five red border to drop.

All for one melee kill. That’s why I want pugilist, swashbuckler and right hook. Putting on quick charge makes surplus not too necessary

I like it with Glacial Harvest and a double Penumbral Blast Claws build. Constantly making shards. Constantly getting melees back. Put on Rime and a Well/Shard build for PvE. This shotgun was the missing piece Shadebinder needed for me.
Base AE (2) + Extended Mag (10) + Icarus Grip (15) + Exotic (Like NBP or Astrocyte Verse) (30) + Ember of Temepring/Whisper of Hedrons (20) gets this Slug's AE up to 77 or even 100 with other exotics like Sealed Ahamkara's Grasp.
Gat a particular build in mind once I can craft this thing (feeling that lack of patterns as well, man)

Once I'm able to craft this, im going to craft it twice. I want a stasis headstone roll but I also want a good roll for other things. I'm usually not a fan of slugs but for whatever reason, the thickness of the shotgun really helps me land shots
Waiting for reset to get my final red border. Definitely going for Triple Tap/Surrounded. Pairing it with Stasis for sure! And I've been farming for the last week for that God roll Bonechiller you made a video about.
Definitely a gem this season, seeing how you use it in PVP with Headstone and a warlock was an eye-opener I have to say. I just wish they toned the the aesthetics on these Plunder weapons a bit more, the spikes take up too much screen space lol, but the weapons are all dope.
BTW, hoping for a Mindbender's review next/soon, I want to know if there's some kind of super mega secret/not-so-obvious roll on the weapon that's actually worth getting! (Been loving my PVE rolls though, it's been a King's Fall raid workhorse in Totems.)
I just started getting into using more Shadebinder recently, so this shotgun is definitely going to be a stable for that PvP build I've been tryin' to lean into. Thanks for the insight.

Great video. Mostly a PvE guy but I think I've been sleeping on this one. I've got a FttC/Vorpal Fortissimo which is wonderful but I could see replacing it with the TT/FF roll on this one since, on Stasis Titan, it would be extremely easy to also benefit from font of might constantly.
Just a couple of days ago I rediscovered my love for shadebinder with Cryosthesia or my beloved Empirical Evidence, so I didn’t need any convincing here. Excellent review.

Crafted mine recently and was working on leveling it. Took it into thr Crucible and it just seems to snag headshots for some reason. Maybe it was just one of those dayd but it does feel pretty nice to use. Good luck getting red borders.
Crafted a pugilist/swash roll for my Liars Handshake hunter. Just made sense seeing as I'm punching stuff anyway.
I plan to grind out the Umbral Energy for the red borders when I get the upgrade that awards it from activity completions
I’m pretty stuck to my quick draw opening shot max range blasphemer but I love the look of this weapon so much I’m going to craft one and give it a solid go. Can’t say enough about the aesthetics of this seasons weapons.
I have this crafted with the 82 82 split and it’s great, easily my favorite shotgun
You need to have enhanced surplus and harmony with Mythoclast and fusion boots for the 10 second Body shot 1 hits! Trust me, it’s incredible!!!

Good vid, but I noticed something in a lot of your gameplay; after slugging someone you follow up with a melee, except you usually fire out your penumbral blast and end up wasting it. When you don't have your super ready, you can press the super button to do a regular melee. You can also bind your charged and uncharged melees to different keys. A little useful tip.
Another benefit of learning the uncharged melee bind: one-shot meleeing stasis crystals - something also absent in the vid
I’m not sure what he plays on, but I play on Ps5 with a regular controller and there r no extra buttons to use to bind charged and uncharged separately like that unfortunately.
I love my boomstick; just a couple more red borders to brute force through the hidden compartment focusing and I’ll be able to build my own. :)
Titans have a nice time with headstone with the behemoth subclass. Have pugilist on thr gun too. Get a kill to get melee energy, break the crystal to get increased grenade regen and also spawn a stasis shard which gives u ur melee back
Bungie has already dismissed the myth of range effecting aim assist, that's not a thing. Accuracy it effects my technicality. It slugs don't HAVE accuracy as a Stat. But range makes it more accurate at longer ranges because it effects how fair aim assist will come into play, not how strong aim assist is (which is what the stat does)
I went surplus and headstone. I wanted to double down on the handling alongside getting a faster reload.
I've had zero luck with red border drops, but did get a Triple Tap/Focused Fury roll drop pretty early on. I took it into a Nightfall, and it melted Champions. Masterworked it right there and then, its been in my inventory every since. Absolutely slaps against Golgoroth too. 😉
I saw Gleaux's vid on this and was sold on it. My question tho, with pugilist on a Shadebinder, does the Penumbral blast freeze count as a melee hit? I've been trying and I can't seem to get Pugilist to proc... or does it not show up on the screen when it does proc?
I'm also a Hunter main... but I'm loving the Shadebinder so hard rn.
I have two rolls, headstone outlaw, and pugilist wellspring. I don’t know which one is better for ability regeneration, at least for stasis. Grinding it out for pugilist headstone though, that’s the best combo according to Gleaux.

Bungie recently claimed that all perks have the same odds of dropping which I think is a huge fib. I also think the same applies to red borders because I also only have 2 red borders, yet I've had enough red borders of the machine gun to craft it twice over. I also always get the heavy weapon borders first in every single season since crafting...the Red Herring, Palmyra, the machine gun from the first season with witch queen, last seasons rocket launcher were all my first gained red border weapons.
I crafted this by the second week. Got 3 red borders in the first week. It's so good with Headstone and Stasis.

I went a different direction with mine originally, but your vid might have me changing mine around lol. I was rocking surplus/swashbuckler and using a bxr and athry’s embrace. It’s a fun loop in 6s. Get a few crits with bxr, knife someone for a free ohko. Then I have swash x5 and radiant for anyone who pushes. Still not as good as bombardiers though 🤓
What's the max range on slug shotguns, in terms of the numerical stat itself?
Is 80 range still under the cap, for example.
Already got mine crafted and have been using it in PVP. I just got to get used to slugs, but once I level it up, it's definitely gonna be good.
I want to try this out with the combination of Pugilist, Swashbuckler, and Right hook.

I have only gotten red borders for this and the smg so I have both built now
My first drop was accurized rounds/assault mag pugilist snapshot with a range masterwork so I immediately upgraded it but haven't used it yet s
With Fluted accursed and range mw it becomes 82 range
50 stability
82 handling if your crafted shotgun is level 20 since it gives +2 to every stat that's not the mw/enhanced intrinsic trait

Bro HOW do you have no screen shake on any of your weapons?? You play on controller but is it a PC thing? On console I find it hard to use hand cannons due to needing to spec completely into stability to negate the screen shake. Pls!!! Let me know

love that use of frostpulse nobody expects to get frozen from a rift ;). Also it has been the same for me i hvae gotten all the other patterns but i just can't get the shotty red borders to drop should be a problem now though
I had a feeling you were recording when I played against you. That assassins cowl build was crazy. I kept trying to hit you with thorn and clean up with a body throwing knife but that range on the slug or the melee after was crazy and hits so fast.
I crafted Pugilist Swash to use with Assassin's Cowl for PvE. Amazing! I just went into the crucible which I suck at fot the challenges and just left the No Reprieve paired with Doom of Chelchis with Cowl and Im absolutely wiping. Im sold on Pugilist+Swash for Melee builds in both PvE and PvP.

I finally got my 5th pattern last night and crafted it. WHOOP!
i built mine with enhanced triple tap n enhanced surrounded but in most scenarios surrounded was really inconsistent.. the only place where I saw it pop off was in the golgoroth encounter in kings fall.. i switched to enhanced focus fury n it feels much better as I don't have to rely on enemies being there n its really good.. 9/10
I've been rocking that same roll with Surrounded and agree, it can be hard to get it to work in a lot of cases. It's so hard trading down the potential for 47% on every shot to just 20% only on the final 4 shots though. I think it's mostly useful as a way to get in, pop a stunned champion in 1-2 shots, and then pull back before you die. That crazy bonus plus Font plus HEF and you've got a stacked 220% damage on a slug that just wrecks everything.

I have a full bore, accurized, surplus, swash with a range MW. I wanted to watch your video and see if you said anything about it, because this roll paired with Synthocepts absolutely slaps in PvP
I’m mainly a PVE player and torn between triple tap - FF or triple tap - surrounded. The damage bonus for surrounded is obviously better but idk what scenarios it will be good for. Whereas the focused fury roll will be good for mostly everything
Just max out on resources then solo que expedition and loot all 4 chests yourself. You’ll get 5 total drops each run including the one that drops from emoting and 12 Plundered Energy if you have the corresponding upgrades which is the amount you need to specifically focus weapons. 24 Map Fragments used per solo run so after the first solo run of expedition just farm a lost sector for the rest of the Treasure coordinates (240) and hop back in expedition solo. I got all the Patterns unlocked the 3rd week of the season doing this.

@@leolarose2099 on PS4/PS5 it’s ridiculously easy. Just go into PlayStation settings while you are in orbit and set the date anytime in the future. Make sure to turn off the “Auto Set using internet”. Then load into expedition or any activity not PvP related. Honestly unsure how to do it on PC/Xbox but I’m pretty sure there’s tutorials out there

Surronded triple tap with surrounded spec as it increases the damage of the surrounded perk. Also I have 2 of these crafted one for pvp and one for pve
I'm lucky enough to have mine crafted and I really want to go for Pugilist + wellspring and try that with no back up plans. Probably at least 30% melee energy per kill.
I hope we get ornaments for these weapons

I had four red borders of that within the first two days of the season. Then it weeks to get the fifth or any other red bar.
I have a pugilist swash roll and I absolutely love it.
Apparently CoolGuy's red box luck is the exact inverse of mine. No Remorse was the first seasonal pattern I got. Obviously this operates on the same mechanic as the one that magnetically attracts cats to you when you're allergic, because I hate slug shotties.
Think imma go surplus/snapshot for my pvp roll and outlaw/swashbuckler for pve roll
I got a random drop Corkscrew, Assault, Pugilist, and Swashbuckler with a handling masterwork and it slaps!
I think a Demo/Vorpal Fortissimo is a better "general use" slug for PvE major slaying, but No Reprieve has 2 niches. 1 is pure DPS with TT/FF and FoM since it's Stasis, although there aren't many situations I can see this being the best option. The best setup for it imo is Pugilist/Headstone because collaterals with the crystal will feed you huge chunks of melee energy, and it's on a special weapon so it'll give more than a primary like Blood Feud with the same roll.
Who the hell looked at this blunderbuss and honestly thought "yup, that a precision implement if I ever saw one"
The scout was hard to get red borders I was able to get the sluggun, sidearm, then scout.
Headstone primaries work excellent with Special Grenade Launchers.
I'm sad its perk pool is a bit small but I've been using it a lot lately. First seasonal gun I can focus so far. Lookng for that Pug + Swash PvE roll
