  • From the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, to the British colonies and then Australian Federation, the record keepers of the Australian continent have been varied and changeable. An understanding of the history of the political and civic structures of Australia is essential to locating family history resources. This presentation will help you learn how to access resources for a particular place and time in Australia. While the presentation will cover each of the States and Territories, it will use the State of Victoria to illustrate how to navigate state based resources and organisations. A panel of experienced researchers will be available to answer your questions at the end of the presentation.
