Nice try Microsoft but no. I don't want AI to be a part of OS.
Personally, not a big fan of this video. Sure, LLMs and other generative AI are cool; they can help condense information, generate and fix code, do some interesting image and video generation and manipulation. But it's so clear that this is not like your other videos.
It's a bland showcase of what really just amounts to a deeper level of AI system integration, with no discussion of its potential downsides or current shortcomings. In other videos you calmly point out issues that you have with the systems that you use, but here you laugh off a image generator's useless results without further discussion, and present things like OCR as something enabled by AI rather than simply improved by it. The 11 second long disclaimer at the end of the video does little to remedy this.
If you're going to make propaganda, please make it consistent with the rest of your channel. I want to hear about your experiences using the systems, their real shortcomings, their real, everyday, advantages (should they exist).

@@camshand From the title, I definitely thought this was going to be a way to strip as much of the AI and spyware out as possible for a proper OS that's minimalist and focuses on functionality and experience - much like... every other project you've decided to record and upload. Tips are, fundamentally, small useful things that make someone's life better. Running a full-time channel always means ads and sponsors, so I guess in a way, having an entire video dedicated to this genuine garbage is a better option than the alternative - having to skip through a few minutes of the same garbage distributed throughout the next 5 or so upcoming videos.
Really glad to see you taking an honest and open stance about things! So many other creators just delete comments and try to start fights when people call them out for shilling genuine garbage instead of useful or interesting sponsors. Definitely need more creators like you on this channel and - despite the content of the ad - I'm the sort that's certainly happy to drive interaction by dropping a comment and a thumbs-up so you at least get your increased metrics.

Nah fam, i love your vides but this aint it. MS and their bs AI can drive right off. Ive already been using linux on my laptop for the past 3 years and when time comes and i have to build a new gaming pc im also putting linux on that.
Ngl some AI features are pretty cool but the idea of it Microsoft using me or other people to train AI's while basically having access to all your data is just a big NO NO

It takes a lot of time to make completely custom projects as small things go wrong, don't align or need to be re-printed.

Crazy how this video shows not one loading bar for copilot to generate the answer - even if a video should be entertaining you just hide the fact that it took long to generate your things. Very misleading

Utterly disappointing, selling your albeit small brand and channel to Microsoft for some cash is quite sad. Lost pretty much all faith since the video itself isn't even a good showcase of what can be good or bad about the AI stuff in windows, which btw is pretty much useless, and there's absolutely 0 point in baking it into the OS. it's an operating system ffs, make an app, and let me choose whether i want to use it or not. AI has nothing to do with running the OS.
You were one of the cool guys mate, and lost pretty much all credibility with one sponsored video where the disclosure is at the end of the video because you knew that going into it if people find the video to be sponsored, then they'll click away.
The big channels make sense, they sell to whomever gives most money, but small channels like this don't have much to show, and the most important thing you have is a loyal fanbase. Hope to never see something like this again.

@@camshand just stick to being a great channel, keep doing you, and don't do stuff like this, I get that sponsorships allow you to fund the channel, and an ad at the beginning or the end of the video is fine by me and most people, but a whole dedicated video to sponsor a product that has nothing to do with what you make and what people come to your channel to watch is a really poor choice, not even mentioning it is for a useless AI product that no one will get use out of, from a trillion dollar company.
You're incredibly charismatic and your voice is perfect for long shots with voiceovers, and the stuff you build is impressive. Your demeanor is amazing and the videos themselves are great to watch, I love your content and I hope you make it big one day, but until you do, you don't really get the liberty to just shill some corporation for money, it's also worth mentioning that since you don't upload *that* often, getting one of these videos instead of one of your usual great ones hurts even more.

Personally I use windows X lite. Performances wayyy better than Microsoft windows.

Queue paranoid commenters who don't understand AI and are just kneejerk freaking out due to fear.
CZcams, facebook, your email handler etc. are already farming everything they do including where they're looking and how long they pause on images and text.... don't freak out about AI. Freak out about marketing. Anyway -- I was curious about how this stuff looked in the OS; thanks for showing us!

No. It's already too much. That it happens at all is fucking awful. _Anything_ you can do to cut down what companies can unethically gain access to, or poison whatever data they can get, or strip out this kind of gimmicky spyware being forcefully shoehorned into existing software, is 100% worth it. It might be nice feeling superior to others for being desensitized to these things, but it isn't particularly useful or clever.
People know "AI" isn't what it's being sold as, and they don't want it. It's not complicated.
