Of the 4 folks videos i watched, you are the only one who didnt want to show their face and break up the process.
You make great instructional videos. Thank you
Thank you! Just installed my new dust cover. Gun shop said I have to take the gun apart or they could do it for $100+ lmao
Awesome! Great job! I'm glad I could help. :) I'll be putting out more tutorials and such in the future, so keep an eye out. 8)
I wouldn’t support that business anymore
@@TheWarriorSolution yasyri
@Adam Fitzpatrick there's a place here in Colorado called Damage Factory and they tried to tell me because of my LaRue handguard they'd have to take it off before swapping out the dust cover
Sounds like some crooks
Took my tiny clamp off of the dust cover bar and it shot across the room, or so I thought. Sighing in anticipation of instantly giving up looking for such a small piece I walked away. Came back 2 minutes later to find it had landed on the desk 2 feet from me. LUCKY ME!
Perfect.. I got mine in. Took about five minutes after watching the video. Thank you.
Fantastic! Nicely done. 8)
Thank you for using such a great camera resolution for this video. I got my first AR and I'm trying to customize it bit by bit and some if it seems slightly daunting for someone who's never customized a gun before. This was super helpful, I'm excited to get my package in the mail now.
Sweet! Congrats on the new AR! It seems scary at first but it's really just like legos... There are about a million different options for things to put on it so you should have a great time.
I appreciate the video quality more than words can explain! You definitely keep my boredom at a minimum. Thanks!!!
The best tutorial I've found for removing the dust cover (and more specifically the little C clamp). Thanks!
Great to hear! Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks for the tutorial man. This was simple, straight, and to the point!
Great video! I finally just used pliers to get the clip on, much easier than trying to tap it on.
Thanks man! Helped me out
Great tutorial on replacing an existing dust cover.
I've built dozens of AR-15's and 10's but for those who are new to building, it would have been good if you would have showed them the way you grabbed the C clip with the tweezers prior to tapping it in to the groove in the rod.
Great video. 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it! I agree with your idea on showing the C clip prior to tapping it. The reality is it took about ten minutes of trial and error with various tools to finally get it in place. Such an annoying little bugger!

😆😆😆 don't I know!
You should have done a FFW amalgamation of your frustration attempts. Your vid made it look painless but we all know better...@TheWarriorSolution
Good job. Very close in view. This was video #3 and the close up got it clear to me.
Great video, through explanation, great camera angles 😊❤
You saved my ass with the tape bro.... soooo grateful 🙏.... great video...
Right on! Glad I could help!
I just did my very first dust cover installation!! All by myself!! I put one on my 7.62x39 AR pistol. It was a bit of a challenge! Getting that little "C-clamp" off and back on! I actually had to do it twice because the first time I did not have the proper spring tension (and dummy me, I shoulda checked it before putting the clamp back in place!) So I did a quick review of the spring twist part, then all was good!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!😃❤️👍
Right on! I'm glad the video was helpful for you. Have fun with the rest of your build!
Very easy to follow the steps, appreciate the content man
No problem 👍
Thanks to your video,I just got done installing my dustcover on an ar15 build that I'm in the process of doing
Great video which doesn't waste a lot of time. So easy to do; got a couple extra covers from Bastion for buddies, and sent them this video. Good job, man.
Excellent video! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the simplicity, and the voice was pleasant and not yelling at everyone . Nice video
You're welcome, I'm glad you liked it. :)

That’s where the process starts
Thanks for making it so easy to follow, and also, for zooming in so that we could see the small parts!
You are so welcome! More build videos will be coming soon!
Dude you’re the man! Thanks for such a clear informative video, made my installation a breeze.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the help, went super smooth.
Glad it helped!
Really helpful video thanks man!
Glad it helped!
My rifle has that same logo, evolve III. Love these guns!!
Thanks man, great walk through! Cheers🍻
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback.
Cool, thanks for the vid! I'm upgrading my AR & I have a new dust cover I need to install
Glad I could help! Let me know if you run into any trouble and need some help.
Nice video 👍 easy to understand and hopefully easy to install. I found a colt a2 upper that I’m building and the dust cover is missing. Should be a nice commando with bayonet when I’m done. Again, thank you for the refresher, and God bless. 🙏😇🇺🇸
Sounds great! Hope the build goes well for you!
Great video!
Thanks! I've got several more AR build videos like this in the works. :)
This vid was awesome. Super easy to follow and awesome camera quality you definitely got my sub ! Also your background music is pretty damn good what’s it called lol ??
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
It's a e clip not c clamp. But nice video with clear instructions. Helped me out.
E- clip
It’s a Jesus clip
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you. just received 2 uppers I bought from Aero Precision ( for 5 builds ive got goning on) and when I opened boxes I saw that 1 if the dust covers wasn't attached completely. I swear I tried about 10 times to put back on with no success. now that I know how the spring goes it shouldn't be a problem now. lmfao
Glad I could help! Also awesome that you have five builds going. :D
Haven't done one of these in a long time just watched your video for a refresher thanks. That little c clip is going to be a mother fer 😖.
Well, Mr. Bond, I thought Q would have squared you away but I guess he's at the end of his rope with you at this point... Try not to break it this time.
100th comment! Thanks for the video. I’ve watched it a few times now. Gearing up to swap the dust cover soon
Awesome! Thank you!
Really helpful...👍👍👍👍
Glad it was helpful!
I can’t get my rotten. It won’t fit in the hole. I’ve tried lubing it up. I might even have to take the damn barrel off because the Ford assist area is like blocking it is anyone having trouble like this?
You saved my airsoft M4 buddy, GODDAMN THANK YOU!!! BLESS YOU FROM RUSSIA
I’m not removing my dust cover, but I’ve found something concerning that you could probably answer for me. I just recently got my first rifle, so I’ve been closely examining it, trying to learn about every detail on how it operates and how it’s put together. The c clamp prevents the bar from moving towards the stock, but I noticed that if you press your thumb on the end of the bar from the stock side, the bar moves slightly forward towards the barrel. Is there anything to prevent the bar from sliding completely out in the direction of the barrel?
Some receivers use tapered pins so they only go in one way, some have a smaller hole on the barrel side vs the stock side. Others have C clips on both ends of the pin, so it just depends on who made the rifle as to what design they went with.
thanks
You're welcome - thank you!
My spring flew right the hell off when I was shooting. I've never had it off and have no idea why it flew off. Turns out the cover functions the exact same way without it. Im just putting a new one on because it says "Surprise Asshole" on it.
Nice PWS upper. What length barrel is it?(Mk107/Mk109/Mk111/Mk114/Mk116/Mk118?)
My 1st AR15 was a PWS Mk116 back in 2015. I sold it and purchased a used PWS Mk118(currently own). I also owned a PWS MK220 6.5CM. I sold that rifle and purchased a PWS Mk218 6.5 CM. Recently, I sold the MK218 6.5CM rifle. It was a very accurate rifle with a 1:8 twist rate.
It's a PWS Mk116 I picked up back in 2015. It's been an awesome rifle. :)
I got a knurled rod for the dust cover on my ar I bought prebuilt , anyone know if only way to take it off it forsure removing hand guard?
Yes. Some rods are bigger on the barrel side. There is no way to remove it without removing the barrel. Depending on your gun you may be able to take just handguards off (like free floated tube ARs) standard AR style that a delta ring you will have to remove the entire barrel. But the good thing is sometimes those c clamps will come off...yours wont.
I want to know what is up with your trigger pin hole on the receiver.
The lower is a T-15 from Tactical Innovations. They use their own design for the fire control group pins that includes four round threaded anti walk nuts. If you look at the hammer pin, you can see what its supposed to look like. The trigger pin anti walk nut rattled off at some point and I didn't notice until much later. Since filming this, Tactical Innovations was kind enough to send out a replacement nut so my pins are all good now.
Do you know if there is an easy way to swap one out on a 223 wylde side charger? They don't have an open hole on the Butt stock side so It's looking like the barrel may need to come off. I'm just being lazy and hoping that's not the case.
I'm not sure on that one... I don't have a lot of experience with side chargers yet. Sorry I don't know the answer.
Bar and C-clamp?
thanks bruh
If a dust cover doesn't come with the extras can you use bar etc from your old dust cover?
If you're using a standard style of dust cover, yes, your old bar and spring should be fine. If you're using a specialized one, the old bar probably won't work.
Can you take this put with the dust cover closed have a jam cant get dust cover to open mag stuck and round stuck to
That sounds like a major issue that should be addressed by a qualified gunsmith.
@@TheWarriorSolution fixed no worries
Yes, I noticed that you cut the part trying to get the bar in. Other than that, yes, I feel confident about replacing my dust cover.
I cut out several minutes of me basically doing the same thing over and over. Not exactly riveting CZcams content... Replacing a dust cover is not the easiest job as far as ARs go, but it isn't overly difficult either. Just take your time and don't get frustrated if it takes a little while to get everything lined up.
thanks, very helpful. My spring broke during training the other day, so I replaced the whole cover with an OD green one that says You're Fucked when open. Ha
Wow, I've never seen one actually break before. You must have been doing something epic! haha Glad I could help.
@@TheWarriorSolution the instructor was coming around jamming a 1x2 into our ejection port to cause malfunctions, forcing us to clear them.
Thanks this works great even on a airsoft rifle
Sweet! Glad I could help. :)
Is there a way to install the dust cover without a c-clamp cuz I lost mine💀
Welcome to the club! :D You should be able to find a comparable replacement part at your local hardware store. Ask them about "snap rings" and bring the bar the ring snaps into for reference. You can also order all kinds of replacement/spare parts from Brownells and Midway USA for cheap.
180-degree CLOCKWISE turn to preloading spring tension...
Will an e clip work?
Yes, an e clip *should* work without any issues. Typically replacement dust covers ship with whatever clip type it was designed for.
Could you put this on a sr25?
You can change the dust cover on an SR25 using the same technique, but you would want to make sure it's the right size (.308 vs 5.56 shown in the video)
Wouldn’t have been easier to do a shotgun break (taking out the rear pin on lower receiver) so you remove the pin WITHOUT taping or scratching the forward bolt assist? 🤷♂️
The forward assist is part of the upper receiver so it wouldn't change position relative to the ejection port pin. Keeping the lower attached to the upper just keeps things a little more stable if you don't have a vise to hold the upper alone.
What bolt are you using?
That is a MK116 upper from PWS, so it's a long stroke piston bolt made by PWS specially for their rifles.
what safety is that?
It's a generic ambidextrous safety. I wouldn't recommend it though, because the levers are the same size on both sides so the ambi switch ends up digging into my palm while I shoot. I will be changing it out for something with a shorter ambi switch at some point.
C clip !!
I'm going to make that into a shirt design, I swear.
C-clamp
Is it me or should they of put writing on both sides!
It is called a "C clip" I believe.
E-clip
I'm pretty sure its called an E clip not C clamp ( not trying to be a d... )
Next time I'll just call it a clippie thingy to avoid any confusion. ;)
I’ve been trying this fur two hours my first time it’s not working work a fk tweezers too thick razor blades think enough but won’t pop it out the c clamp I’m
Starting to get angry as fk
It's defiantly a huge pain in the ass. Just take a break for a bit so you don't slingshot your build through a window. Other tools that might work are dental picks, small flathead screwdrivers, and medical hemostats.
Be sure to rotate the long end of the spring in a clockwise direction.
Is it me, or is a dust cover unnecessary. None of my pistols have dust covers, and I’m not fighting in Desert Storm.
Your opinion is appreciated.
Hi Victor, for normal civilian use, dust covers aren't really all that important. Because the AR platform is used by militaries all around the world, it's important to consider as many variables as possible and to try and mitigate potential failures. The dust cover does exactly what it's supposed to: keeps junk (sand, dirt, mud, sticks, ex wives) out of your bolt and bolt carrier group to help keep the rifle running as smoothly as possible.
Its NOT a "C: CLAMP its a "C" CLIP
E clip
@@TheJdubb75785757yes Thank you .....I think both names are considered correct
C-“clip”
I swear I'm going to make that into a t-shirt...
Ur doing it backwards
Woh od uoy wonk? lol
If you're talking about how I should have inserted the pin from the muzzle end, I agree. The problem is my handguard was too big to fit the rod, and I didn't want to take that off since it's not a standard rail. Either way works really.
C clip…. Not clamp
Thats an E clip not a C clamp lmao
Whatever the official name, it's a pain in the ass. haha
Wtf is that smalll part
It's rumored to be the most annoying part in the world, but the jury is still out... No matter what you call it, it's a pain in the butt.
C-clips NOT C-clamps
