I run milspec because it catches on my kit the least.
I love Geissele. I bought one for my ar10 thats billet and its a piece of beauty. Its number 1 in my book at least
Same
Same, Geissele looks better than Radian imo. Wish I could put them on all my builds. But damn they are expensive.
For sure. I’ve owned a couple of different radians and now someone else owns them and they were replaced with geissele airborne’s
No BCM? Damn, I'm surprised. I use the BCM 4x4 or Radian Raptor's in all my builds.
This truly is my favorite firearms channel. An outstanding presentation! Thank you, sir 🫡
Only charging handles I have extensive time on are the Radian (going back to when they were AXTS), BCM, regular mil-spec, and Breek Arms. Of them all I think I trust the Radian the most but bang for your buck wise it is very difficult to beat the Breek Arms Warhammer.
I like my aero breach large and small. They were also free with purchase of bcg. 👍
The *Aero Breach:* for #1, the (much lower than other companies) price, and #2, the excellent quality product you get for that much lower price
It's $94 on AERO's website right now. The RADIAN Raptor LT is $74.99 on PSAs website. That's a hard pass. Radian all day. Maybe if the breach was around $30 I might consider, but $75 for a radian is a steal imo!
@@BeReal918 Check Aero's blems - That's how I got mine for ~$60. And I can't find a thing wrong with it...
Sheesh, even my LGS has the Breech for ~$70. But you're right about $75 for a Radian- I'd probably jump on that as well.
I'm not paying $90+ for any CH, tho. But that's just me
Classic Firearms has them on sale for 49.99$ that's where I got my large ch in fde and black
I prefer Radian.
I prefer Radian types
Damn Straight
@@MrSabram07I just started building my first ar 15 I was looking at radian
Took a radian off my Daniel defense and put a geissle airborne, the radian is just a little too big like geissele's full size one both constantly jab you in the chest the airborne is just the right size and does everything a radian does .
@@USMC-1911 should have gone with Radians Sd-SL, suppressed & Slim
I love the Radian Raptor and the Breek Warhawk. I like the wide Warhawk for the thinness and for my DMR's which have big scopes hanging in the way. The Warhawk makes racking my DMR a breeze. Now for my CQB and even my fighting rifle, I like the Radian Raptor. I like the thickness of the claw and the narrower spread so it wont get snagged. That being said, Breek is a great price and more in line with what they should all be selling for and are great quality but you arent paying for a name. As far as the old style, they are cheap, can only be racked from one side, and usually the first thing that gets replaced if its on a gun you purchased.
I was doing a budget build and picked up a Warhammer.....im hooked. For half the price and great functionality it cant be beat!
I love my Warhammer! I bought a knockoff radian from gray badger, and it feels kinda flimsy.
I have a 20.00 ambi I purchased some years ago and it works just fine. A charging handle doesn’t get enough use and it just doesn’t have a cool factor for me to spend more than 20-30 bucks. To each their own as companies are capitalizing and laughing all the way to the bank.
Thats wat i said. Its a damn charging handle just change out the mil spec for watever and youre good? People
Like to spend just to say then spent 🙄
Break Arms is my favorite, with nice color options also.
The Radians are fine. I have several. Zero problems, very good design. The Geissele is slightly better IMO, but the best one I have tried (for keeping gas out of my eyes while running suppressed) is the Griffin Armament SN-ATCH.
Geissele is good for people with smaller fingers. In my case it's like t-rex trying to touch his wang. Just doesn't work.
Raptor is king for me lol
Geissele for me. Best at keeping gas’s out of your face/. I’ve had large round count days and keeping the gas out of your face makes for a better range training days. 👍🏻👍🏻
I bought a cheap Presma INC ambi charging handle about a year ago. So far I've had zero issues
I love my Warhammers. I've got one in my ar15 and another in my ar10. Building an ar15 now, putting another one in it when it's done.
I have a Geissele SCH and find that the forward assist interferes with manipulation of the right hand. I put it on andother rifle which had no FA. My other rifles have the gasbuster.
Got an Aero Breach ,a Breek War Hammer , a Radian Raptor, and they're all exactly the same when I stop thinking about silly shit and I'm strictly going through the motions. DEFINITELY all better than milspec. Although, Breek Arms Warhammer is definitely my favorite. I just wonder about it longevity because it has less "chunk". Price wise it KILLS!
I have tried several and i too prefer the warhammer
Indeed. And BreekArms also offers the smaller warhammer if the original happens to seem too large for your liking.
@@RIpped_407I just installed the breach on my ar 15 feels awesome
Great info this video had helped me out alot thank
I like BCM. Good track record, no frills.
My bcm charging handle got stuck at the start- had to kinda “pinch” the back but now that’s it’s broken in it’s a lot easier to use and get less gas in the face than with my other arm
I like Radian but have had two of their ambi charging handles that one of the pins have fallen out of. Luckily one fell out on my work bench and the other I caught before it fell all the way out.
I just got a Strike Industries T Bone on sale..just installed, and it functions how a charging handle should..
I went with the Strike industries Latchless CH. nothing to break, work well, locks in tightly. I run a piston ar15 so gas porting isnt a concern.
This video is very helpful. Thank you so much
Glad it was helpful!
ran both the warhammer and radian raptor. WH is definitely one of the best serviceable ambi CH for the money but that RR sweet spot feels seamless. If you're in the hobby of building ARs then the WH is a great choice considering it's half the price of most of the respectable ambi CH. If you want to spoil yourself and your AR, then can't go wrong with a RR. New or used both the RR and WH function perfectly.
Really thought Geiselle would be on the list.
Wait until Part-2 of this one...we've got almost 50 different charging handles to test out and share our thoughts about. I'll let you know, there are 3x Geissele handles in that one!
@@At3tacticalyour site is un secure according to my phone
@@At3tacticalat3 I prefer arrow
@@At3tacticalit’s been 5 months and which charging handle was the one with the cross on it
@@At3tactical Still waiting for that part 2…
I run 99% suppressed and Geissele works best of any I’ve tried.
The Radian Raptor with gas ports outperforms the Geissele.
@@guicohj I have the Radian with ports and the Geissele for my MK18 and found the Geissele to work better. That’s based on my experience but you may feel differently.
Nice review, Thanks Bro.
No problem 👍
I like my Armaspec Victory for my AR setup
I’ve always used the Radians.
Decided to upgrade my charging handle thanks for the video, ordered the Warhammer along with a Hypertap mussel break.
Awesome! So glad we could help with some info to help out your decision. We ALL love our Warhammers around here and they have some new flavors on the horizon to watch out for.
Precision Armament Hypertap muzzlebrake is the best brake out there in my opinion. They make awesome stuff.
I used to run all mil-spec then went to the Strike Industries Ambi ext ch, now im on Aero Breach chs, and man are those lile butter and easy to use
Radian, Geissele, & Aero Breach. I like the rigidity of the Aero. Hate, hate, HATE the standard milspec handles. No character & grabbing with gloves sucks. Cheers to a good segment!
Mil spec is only good if your doing a clone on a m4 m16
I like my Aero breach the best. I have the beak arms and also the radian raptor. The aero is best all around especially for comfort
warhammer is my favorite. i have and use the radions, OG, and a few others, and still even on my LaRue build, I got a WarHammer one.. even after spending 20 yrs in the Marines infantry.. for some crazy reason the warhammer just works. and yes, those other brands work great, they truly do.. but prefernce i go with the Hammer.. easy day any day..edit , forgot to say, when i bought mine, i had no idea about brands and stuff, the price just seemed where it needed to be for me... and it just worked.. no regrets.
I like the Warhammer cause it's half the price, same functionality, easier to rack (which is good and bad depending on if you have the potential of it being a snag hazard, for a casual shooter like me it's great), and less weight than a lot of the other popular ambi CH's.
I found my warhammer charging handle about 2.5 years ago and i have one in every rifle i own these days! I haven't had one issue through thousands of rounds.
Warhammer, best 👌 CH!
thanks for the video ! I picked up a breek arms charging handle after watching this video!
Glad I could help!
So far, personal experience has shown Geissele to b the consistent winner. But always open to trying other brands.
Give Blackout Defense a go on your next build!
Thanks. I pulled up their website. All out of stock but will research them further. I just tested out the new BCM MK2 charging handle. Figured it was worth a try since I have a 14.5” BCM MK2 rifle. They are designed to go together. I’m happy with it but wouldn’t recommend over Geissele.
@@scott2228 Yeah black friday did a number on their inventory haha. They're OOS on a muzzle device I want too!
I run Radian myself mostly, but I have no complaints about Geissele!
I’ve got a BAD rack, a breek warhammer, and radian raptor and definitely prefer the warhammer, the raptor, and then the rack. All are much better than milspec.. but I am still running a milspec CH on my 20in GWOT a4 clone thing because vibes..
love the warhammer, I have 2 or 3 and even had a warranty issue, they solved it ASAP with no questions!
Geissele would be the winner for me
It's the guy from BRSTV! I thought I was hallucinating there for a second 😂
I have a $15 one that looks like the Radian Raptor. So I have a serious question. Why do these things cost so much money? When I found them for $15 several years ago, I bought 5 of them. I've never had a problem with any of them. Is there a reason for the large price? Do they break?
Sounds like you got a good deal.
Can you do video like this with BCG. Love to see one specially with lmt and sionics
Great content..
I would like to know where I could get that bench weapon holder you have in this video..
Please!
The Real Avid Vice Block and Master Gun Vice
I have the Radian Raptor LT on mine, it’s very nice
Used to love the radian raptor until I got the badger ordinance charging handle.
I have an AR platform PCC, calibered in 9mm, are charging handles caliber specific?
I'm hoping, we will see the Devil Dog Concepts Hard Charger in one of these at some point.
I am not well versed with other brands but both the Strike Eagle and Tomahawk from POF are nice. The Eagle feels a bit more slick and is slim but the Tomahawk is my fav. Nice and beefy, your fingers won’t slip, not to mention it is badass looking.
POF is a good choice.
No love for pinless, latchless handles? I really like the one by Strike Industries. Lightweight, no moving parts so less failure points, and inherently ambi since there's no latch
I love my Raptor, but I wanna get a Warhammer Micro and a Daniel Defense Grip n Rip (for my DDM4)
The Geissele super handle is my favorite.
I have the Aero. They sent the wrong color, but other than that,no problems.
So I just got a Saint Victor. Yes it's not ambie and to be honest I've only owned 4 AR-s and really haven't noticed any huge difference in charging handles.I never notice any rattling,I mean with ear protection and looking down range it's not even on my radar. I really haven't had anyone sell me on why I need an upgrade yet.
I love my saint victor 16" the charging handle is the only thing I have done to it. I'm a blacksmith and my hands are always cut or burned so I can charge the gun with my palm or any finger on either hand. Keep planting those freedom seeds👍
So I just want to budget ambidextrous charging something that's going to work for my 223 Wade and also separately for my 55.6 AR pistol. I mean the ones in there are fine cuz it's both our budget and beginners and first guns I just don't like single charging. So what is a good budget option for both that's amadtextrive
I use a 15 dollar ambi charging handle lol, works decent enough. I don't quite feel like spending 80 bucks or whatever on something else as of right now.
My #1 is Geissle ACH, #2 is Radian.
Anyone that actually uses their AR has GOT to notice most of the CHs out there try to dig a hole in your Sternum if your Carbine is slung up for extended periods.
I’ve had a good experience with my Armaspec Victory CH but they’re a bit yuuuuge
Used the Radian Raptor first, then fell in love with my Aero Breach. Breach looks better and is just as comfortable as the Raptor
Problem with Breach: it shift to the side when you pull from either side, it scratches up very easy, at least in my experience.
Raptor doesn't have that issue, it sits at the center whenever you move it from left or right side.
sorry to hear, mine has been scratch free and riding straight. Got lucky i guess@@righteousone8454
The Breek Arms Warhammer mod 1 has served me good so far for 3 years but I haven’t tried it with a suppressor. I want to get the micro though
Timber Creek Ambi, new winner for me. Huge. Bigger than the Radian. Lotsa leverage. Adore this thing. Don't touch! 🤙🍺🇺🇸
Airborne from Geissle is a work of art🏁
The only charging handle I use. Hard to get any better than this
BCM C.H. has been a gold standard for a decade.
PRI M84 Ambi is another that's been a gold standard.
The new LevAR is my favorite charging handle. It actually helps clear malfunctions and is very sturdy and cool looking. My Radian is my second favorite.
Great options.
Crazy that the PRI gas buster isn’t considered
Kept having a problem with the roll pins on the warhammer ran it consistently for 4 months before getting a radian raptor LT been running it for 2yrs with no issues maybe i just got a bad one but thats just been my experience
Some early models of the Breek Warhammer did have this problem. If you still have it they will replace it for you.
I recently bought a Colt M5 Sentry, it comes with a Colt labeled radian raptor, cool, but mil spec is what I prefer on all my guns. Lock bolt back before heading out to the range, never touch it again until I field strip to clean.the gun.
I have a Geissele and I love it compared to the flimsy pos that came with the build... I only paid 85 for it. I can't believe it wasn't mentioned...
I spent 23 years in the Army and deployed 3 times…I don’t understand this infatuation with a charging handle? How many times do you really believe you need to charge the weapon when you need to use it to make spending extra cash on it? The magazine locks the bolt back to the rear when you empty a mag. Even during some of the stupid ROE changes I’ve been through charging my weapon quickly was never something I ever worried about. I think some people invent reasons why they need something. My best advice to anyone that worries they won’t be able to handle their weapon in a real fight is to use that extra cash you were going to spend for that fancier looking charging handle to use the money buying range time. Even training civilians to become Soldiers during my three years on the trail I can tell you the Soldiers that had a hard time shooting the charging handle was not the problem 😂
😂 PREACH Brother!! 😂 Hey, I can be right there with you at times. Nose to the charging handle and lock to the rear when done... Why over complicate? But my "Special Friends" folks, with different mission sets and gear requirements, that MilSpec...just doesn't cut it. (Honestly, probably representative of a small sliver of the larger 2A shooting community and what "actually" matters to becoming a more proficient shooter.
-Randy
Any is good, the mil spec charging handle should be the only NFA item.
The warhammer is what I typically use though, the radian is not worth 70+ dollars more for something you touch so little
Love you guys!!!
Awww Thanks,
Aeros FDE for the Breach is closer to their burnt bronze. Just a heads up. Oddball
Geiselle Is great but too expensive too btw
Is there anywhere a nice charging-handle for my Savage msr10 Hunter ? There is nothing in germansops. Thanks for your answer 😊
only gucci charging handle ive ever bought is the geissle sch and i love it
I have a breek arms warhammer ambi and I’m very impressed with the quality so far
radian raptor LT is what i'm running on my more "budget" rifle (i'm a broke student lol), gave it an entire different feel and just under $80 it's pretty perfect when you're trying to save some money.
Radian Raptor (the largest one, and not LT) is still the best to me. Aero Breach was pretty good, but it kind of shift the handle to whichever side you pull from, scratching it up instantly. Raptor does not do this.
If you have small fingers then you have more options.
Strike Industries Extended latch is the go to.
Hello. Is there something I'm missing? I literally don't see any Warhammer Charging handles at all on your Amazon Store. Please advise?
Checkout our website. We just can't post links on CZcams because we sell "scary bad things".
love the warhammer have 2 and will buy again
The BCM gunfighter is the best. When you actually run your gear and sling your rifle…you find out what ones snag your kit. Radian is nice for flat range stuff. But it snags everything. BCM gunfighter is perfect cause it is lower profile and doesn’t catch on everything.
I bet the soy boys love the
" gunfighter" moniker. Let's the weaklings pretend they are military tough, gets their little peckers stiff.
I despise BCM.
Have to politely disagree there. Has not happened to me once. Radian on my rifles.
I have about a dozen Radian Raptors and a few PRI gas busters.
I use vice grips and a cutoff MilSpec charging handle (no handle). It’s amazing. No snagging and whip those vice grips out of my chest rig, clamp on the end and voilà.
Innovation, bay bay !
😂
I prefer the Forward Control Designs ACF. Call me a shill or whatever you want. Lol Oh buddy it’s a sexy, extremely well built and ridiculously functional. The designs and the small tweaks to OEM/ TDP specs Roger applies, are subtle, but significantly increase operability
Absolutely the best charge handle out there.
Came here to say this. You beat me to it. FCD > Radian, Aero, Geissele, BCM, USGI and whatever else is out there.
Damn skippy they need to try one matter fact all their parts are top notch!!
I like the hk ch becuase of the overmolded plastic. I hate touching metal.
on ALL my mine I have a Springfield Armory LevAR charging handle. You don't carry it, but everything else is just a charging handle.
I use Radiant and Breek, does Radiant make a CH for the Rattler? Does anyone?
I have an AR-10 Victor saint. It has a scope. And I find it's hard to grab the charging handle. What's the best charging handle for that ?
If you don't want to move the scope I would go with upgrading to an AT3 Tactical Extended Charging Handle Latch.
I installed a lanyard on my charging handle to get around the scope
Have a radian raptor. But just picked up two Breek Arms Warhammer handles. They are amazing for the money.
Bcm gunfighter has been my go to for over a decade
Do i need a new BCG when putting in a new charging handle??
No, Sir. That's the best part about the "standard" AR-15 rifle. If it says it's for AR-15s...it will fit. From there it's just a matter of choice for features you want/like.
I hate milspec, especially the A2 grip, I actually changed out the grip on my service rifle. I'm considering doing the charging handle too.
Try just upgrading to an AT3 AR 15 Extended Charging Handle Latch that is under 10$. If you want an ambi option try the Breek Arms Micro Warhammer Charging Handle it is under 45$.
Radian Raptor # 1
I bought one aero and hate it...went with radian sd and noveske bad ass handles from now on
I was gunna get the warhammer because it’s $40 and sounds cool
On the right hand side (his right side) the charging handle with the longest latches what brand is that?
Those three there are from Timber Creek Outdoors. The wide wingspan ones are there Enforcer Charging Handles. (I'd post a link, but YT hates when that happens.)
bcm large latch mod 3b ain't bad, but honestly it's whatever you can afford CH don't matter that much
