Space Engineers is a voxel-based sandbox game set in space and on planets, developed and published by Czech independent developer Keen Software House. In 2013, the initial developmental release of the game joined the Steam early access program. During the following years of active development, Space Engineers sold over one million units. In total as of 2019 the game has sold over 3.5 million copies In May 2015, for approximately a year and a half, the game's source code was officially available and maintained by KSH to assist the modding community. On December 15, 2016, the game entered Beta and was later officially released on February 28, 2019.
The game is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration and survival in space and on planets. Players build space ships, space stations, planetary outposts of various sizes and uses, pilot ships and travel through space to explore planets and gather resources to survive.

Title: The ULTIMATE GUIDE to Wireless Automation in Space Engineers
My Last Video: Space Engineers JUST GOT SMARTER! 😱 - WIRELESS CONTROL - Signal Update

What are you using the Action Relay and Broadcast Controller for? Let me know!
Also, are there any other guides you would like to see as well?
Local defense drones.
Little drone outpost with an AI defense block. It detects a hostile? It launches the drones. Hostile gone? Recall the drones.
I was using a script called "Cross Communication" that functioned like these new blocks. Also, it should be noted, you can relabel that button on the bike via "K-Menu".
Honestly not sure what I'd use the action relay for. I used to use timer blocks tied to buttons and/or a cockpit's hotbar to automate things like door openings, docking/undocking sequences, cycle airlocks, and so on. Granted, now I could have only 1 action relay to control multiple grids in the same way... The broadcast controller could be useful for specific alarms and messages.
You can manually set what a small button says it does.
You know, I've never looked at the control panel for the vanilla button before. You learn something new every day.
one step closer to fully automated mining drones
SOON!
i mean... you could use pam
scripts exist dude
@@AxoCatWasTakenUs console players aren’t privy to that privilege.
Already could do that
Since signals dropped, I've been trying to work on an automatic qrf, but instead I got caught up on trying to make a giant Air tight hanger door using merge blocks, and a decent sized large grid ship to put in it, that I haven't really had the time to play with any of the signal blocks yet, so I appreciate the tutorials.
Glad I could help!
the number of times i have gone into space engineers to do a very specific thing, only to do something completely different is so high
Finally is my drone carrier working. Action rellay helped a LOT. Now i can comand them to land back with single call or command them all to launch at once.
To get the hang of the action relay I use it to trigger when my mining ship is full and turns on a light above a connector on my base for me to dock to.
Discovered your tutorial series recently, but was sad when I went to see that you hadn’t uploaded in 6 months. Then I come back and see you’ve uploaded 2 vids. Nice work
Thanks!
This was some very good information, thanks again zer0!
My pleasure!
What a legend. Was just looking at videos about this. Was waiting to see you do it. You’re the most thorough and easy to listen to of all space engineer CZcamsrs
Have you done anything with drone mods? Would love to see you messing around with them
I've done a video with AI blocks if that's what you mean?
@@Zer0sLegion ah I’ll have a look bro what I’m trying to find is the mod with little ai drones that can build and repair, and ‘robot’ companions that will defend your base.
@@Zer0sLegion I found what I was looking for haha. Yeah you made a video last year. Thankyou samurai 🫂
hmmm i wonder if could make a ring of defensive satlilites then, all linked with lazer antennas or just plain antennas to increase enemy detection range, while also letting me know at base that a threat is incoming, thus allowing me to launch my ships or drones in response, or activate my satilites to go in defense mode while using the AI block to keep enemies at range. personally ive used this to make a station in a pvp zone to alert players that want too or dont want to pvp, that hey, your in a danger zone! turn back now or face the risks!
That would be the aim, yes.
Great tutorial! ;)
Thanks!
Yeah another vid 😮
SE has dope wi-fi it's accelerate.
Playstation got no RB 😅 as shoulder buttons we have L1, L2 (left), R1 and R2 (Right). Turning on and off the ,,wifi" would probably be R1 + square.
It's the same thing 🤔
Excellent tutorial! For the remote control block, can you use overlapping antennas to control the grid from super far away? Would a comprehensive satellite network (likely with modded antenna ranges) allow you to remote control grids from anywhere in that overlapping area?
Yes you can! You can control things on mars whilst you are on earth!
You can use laser antenna to do this, they can be set to infinite range but they connect in pairs. Put your satellite with 2 laser antennas in space, place another laser antenna and regular antenna on your base on the ground. Connect the two with GPS. Connect laser antenna on your moving grid to other satellite antenna. Now as long as you are in range of your normal antenna and line of sight of moving grid is not broken with the satellite, you will be able to control the grid on almost entire planet hemisphere with no mods. Of course be careful with the line of sight broken by mountains or asteroids, you wont be able to hangar the ship (that could be bypassed with AI blocks) or fly into caves.
I think Zer0 wants me to like and subscribe. But I am not 100% sure yet
Nah, what gave you that impression 😜
Yeah, First to watch your great videos!
I think you were second but I will allow it!
I too love space engineers wifi
The new blocks are so good!
@@Zer0sLegion they are, they add so much potential for people to interact with other people in servers and such
Does this mean we can use event controllers, sensors, and A.I. blocks etc to do what the PAM script does. I ask for console players who don't have the luxury of scripts.
Basically, yeah.
love your videos
I love them too!
thanks for this demo scripts really confuses me this is a bit easier to under stand good demo i will have to do some practice
Glad it was helpful!
Nice
Very nice indeed!
Ooh, upload! Time to watch it twice at .5x speed (not .5x speed lmao, but i learned a lot from you!)
take a shot every time Zer0 says "action"
🥴
Finally. Thought you forgot.
You mean when I said it would be next week and the video game out the next week? Crazy.
@@Zer0sLegion Yes, its mind blowing.^^
Its just that the week almost ended and I was getting worried :D
we need striker marketable plushies
YES, I need one!
9:57 was an ad supposed to play? I have yt premium
Yes lol, I have premium too.
a carrier with drones, that just needs a few people to effectively operate,
I’ve thought of an SOS style report and reply. Say you are mining and or exploring but you lost your way because you forgot to monitor your GPS position, or your main carrier was moved by your friend. You can have your action relay set a channel and send a signal to your carrier or base having it enable a beacon and sending to all faction members a gps location in chat. A timer will kick on when that beacon is active/triggered with signal to turn the beacon back off again, maintaining stealth while providing a vital function
So we have active radar now
Kinda but not really.
Hmm.......do you think it would be possible to remotely use AI on something? Like, you have all the AI nlocls at your base, and then you broadcast a signal to a drone and have it use the programming in the AI blocks? Seems like a way to reduce the tosl of resource loss, should the drone get destroyed.
Yeap, that's part of the reason the action relay was added.
Return of the kind

@@WTC2014 yeah but then I lose heart
Discord link is invalid
Try the one in the description, that definitely works
"I have to question why you're going that far". A few words, Global - Relay - System. Because I can.
Fair enough 😅
I was thinking of a satellite constellation that keeps all factions in touch
hi zer0
Hello there!
"Why would you use the Everyone receive?"
*Elite Dangerous station docking.*
For those not in the know, the ship platforms in E:D are rectangle parking lots that are always up and ready to receive a ship. But once you are landed, *the docked ship can press a button to lower their pad into an underground hanger.*
Certainly, for maximum security, you could just request a station operator to lower the platforms for you, but that is a mundane auto-task that doesn't need the station's direct hand.
Docking in E:D is, apart from pad assignment, near entirely handled by the pilot. Who is most likely NOT directly affiliated with the station owner, thus requiring the Everyone setting.
The setup is thus:
All pads can be controlled via Action Relay. Relays/Antennas start powered off.
Pilot requests docking. Station Traffic Controller gives a pad number, and a Relay channel.
Pilot docks at the pad. Traffic Control enables that pad's antenna and sets the Relay channel. The signal will allow the pilot to raise/lower the platform as they need without further assistance.
The issue with this method is that you cannot use a channel that another active pad is using AND a channel that the docking ship needs for its own systems. That and any ship in range of the dock might erroneously or intentionally move other's pad unexpectedly.
