    Thanks for the video. I went in and carved out some of the surrounding plastic with a craft knife which fixed the issue. I also managed to keep the adhesive and PTFE from separating; A razor blade and heat gun made it pretty painless

    Thanks for the great work! Something that I also found in my process of disassembling the mouse is that once I take out the torx screws, the squeaking is already quite largely relieved.
    I think the problem is twofold, one is as you pointed out the plastic-plastic friction between the post and the housing. There might also have been design and manufacturing flaws on Razer's side (like a slightly misaligned screw post and hole during CAD or something) that caused this problem to be so common yet mostly on right clicks.

    vi que no hay ningún comentario en español, pero si alguien lo ve, este video me sirvio muchisimo, mi mouse lo compré usado de una persona que llevaba mucho tiempo sin usarlo y el mouse estaba horrible, se sentía el clic horrible, a penas ponía el dedo encima del clic y se pulsaba, se escuchaba y se sentía mal y más
    hice todos los pasos, no les recomiendo usar WD-40, ya que se secará muy rápido ese lubricante, les recomiendo usar un lubricante como el que usó el chico del video y aplicarlo con un pincel delgado, ya que así tendrán un mejor resultado

    Nice vid! Thx bro. Gotta do the same with my VU too - i'm using it a couple of months and got out of patience already hearing/feeling those sqeaks. I also have an issue with scroll wheel - it has some rattle/crackling sound while scrolling up while scroling down seems fine. Since i use scrolling a lot this is also annoying af. Do you also have issues with scroll wheel?

    • @sergeykoss
      @sergeykoss Před 3 lety +1

      @@vazsup Thx. I've done it finally without actually disassembling the mouse. Since corepads are still in the way. There is a post on reddit that is explaining how to do it.
      (1) You need to understand where are those pins located on the back side of the buttons (gotta look at photos of disassembled mouse and back side of buttons).
      (2) insert toothpick between button and main body (insert it closer to the wheel and then slide it slowly towards the center of the mouse, no need to put it in very deep), by doing that you will slightly lift the button so you can see the pin you want to lube.
      (3) Apply the grease to the pin. I've used 10ml medical syringe, but there are also syringes used in soldering for applying flux and soldering paste - usual syringes with special dull needle - in case you afraid of putting sharp things inside your mouse. The tricky thing with medical syringe is that its needle may be too thin so it is hard to push out the grease, I suppose that needles for soldering are thicker so you can apply the grease easier. Another tricky thing with syringe is to fill it with grease - gotta try to have no air cavities inside the grease mass itself otherwise you can spray it all over while doing the job.
      (4) Also you can lube the axis of the wheel too - it is seen without any manipulations.
      (5) The amount of grease per application is about half of a match's head or even less.
      I hope it will help someone

    Super helpful video. I know that If I RMA my mouse same thing will happen to it. Im surprised that none of the reviewers pointed it out the buttons creak. You think its possible to re-stick old mouse feet?

    • @vazsup
      @vazsup  Před 4 lety +3

      I really appreciate it, thank you. I won't say it's impossible, but I didn't have much luck. From my understanding the typical way to remove the feet would be to warm them up with a hair dryer and try to slide them off. The problem is, on the rvu the feet sit in a sunken in groove. Because of this when you try to push the skate it gets stuck, and the skate itself sperates from the adhesive pad that holds it on the mouse. If I were to try again I would try to get the thinnest piece of whatever (Razer blade maybe?) And try to pry the foot up extremely gently while applying heat. I had a set of these replacements www.corepad.de/en/Corepad-Skatez-Razer-Teflon-Mousefeet-Mouse-Feet-Hyperglides-Hyperglide/Corepad-Skatez-Razer-Viper-Ultimate.html on hand because I wanted to have a backup. They come in at just under $10 US and they feel pretty good imo. Plus you get two sets of them! But yeah if you could get them off intact then I don't see why you wouldn't be able to re-stick them. Good luck!

    It’s kind of sad. I have had three viper ultimates, first one had creaky clicks, second one has loose buttons, third one also loose buttons. 😐 The viper ultimate is a 120$ “esports grade” mouse. Please razor, for a 120$ product, please don’t give us this terrible quality control. Even if you don’t get a defect, I hear the long term wear is horrible. Another thing that’s sad is you have the g pro wireless over here, with double clicking and poor scratchy mouse feet for the price of even higher. I’m actually buying a model o wireless, because I haven’t heard that many bad things about it. It seems like a solid mouse to me. It’s literally a DOWNGRADE, JUST SO I DON’T GET A MOUSE THAT WILL BREAK DOWN IN A MONTH. OR EVEN OUT OF THE BOX. Like come on, you know it’s bad if I’d downgrade to a technically worse mouse AND wait weeks for glorious to ship just so I don’t have to deal with the razor and Logitech bs. What other high performance, wireless mice are there to even pick from? Not a ton. Or I mean I’m definitely open to suggestions, though, so feel free to give some recommendations. Wow I didn’t even realize how much I wrote.
