  • The new GM Defense ZR2 ISV or Infantry Support Vehicle is incredible, and I thought with it being the 4th of July weekend it would make for a great video.

      Looks like what General Dynamics is already having built and been deployed a decade ago.
      Need to show an actual field worthy response to that to even be considered as serious as such by for example having a stabilized turret and not just a turret ring.
      Then you'll need a 3rd axle "Nazi Mercedes W31 G4" style to stabilize the entire wheeled vehicle gun platform.
      And that's just for starters..

    This looks to be a very capable vehicle. It’s nice to see GM Defense up and running, and producing competitive vehicles for the military sector. The ISV, while not a direct HMMWV replacement, will augment the U.S. Army’s ability to field more capable, specialized, off-road vehicles.

    That's a Raptor Killer with a baby D-Max! I would love to see how Gale Banks would modify this one! With the baby, D-Max, or its big brother.

    I know GM builds the best automotive parts in the industry, so therefore builds the best automobiles in the world. GM has had contracts with the military in the past.... 73 thru 87 box chevy trucks... military bought thousands

    The vehicle is not intended to be a replacement for the HMMV. It is for light Infantry forces such as the Airborne and other infantry units. Paratroopers can jump in with these vehicles. They will arrive at their destinations quicker than walking. The most important thing to understand is that this vehicle is designed to transport light infantry troops to battle not patrol.

    I think for a vehicle you need to deploy fast. That's a quick run about vehicle on the battlefield. I think it's a great idea. Between this offer that General motors has offer. Plus the Oshkosh Jl Tb. Think it's gonna be a great vehicle. I think that Canadian armed forces are looking at maybe buying this too. Of general motors defense

    another good feature is the reduced power bypass ! if there is an emission related fault and the vehicle goes into reduced power or limp mode this can be bypassed specially in an emergency situation !

    What happens when you start taking fire? How does that guy in the middle back seat get out if his teammates in the outside seats are killed? How do you survive artillery shrapnel raining down on you? How do you moving weapons on top and use them if you have 5-7 rucksacks hours there? Those seats aren’t going to be comparable to the Colorado seats so that suspension isn’t going to be all that helpful after 4 hours of bumping along. Last, imagine riding along at 60 MPH in Europe in winter!

    The vehicle is so protected that the enemies won't even try to shoot at it 😎

    How are they going to put armor on these things? The Colorado is a very light duty chassis. The 2.8 is a good engine but the exhaust emissions system sucks, I know I own one. You get what you pay for I guess.

    • @NateSensenig
      @NateSensenig Před 2 lety

      The military version of the 2.8 TD isn’t subjected to the emissions regulations that apply to the civilian diesel.

      These aren't made for armor. If you want an armored transport, we have the JLTV (Humvee replacement) and MRAP. Think of this as more of something small and light you airdrop with a team... like those little dune buggies special forces currently uses. That's the role they fill... moving people around quickly. You don't really want to try to fight in it.
