    NIce review but the background music was a bit of torture..no need for it.

    OK, I was not going to mentioned this but when you said that the NX sells more units than the Q5, I thought that I would say this. We have an NX and we are not impressed after owning several German cars. The only reason why we bougth the NX was due to the proximity of the dealership. A tiguan is much better and I am sure the Q5 is to. The NX rides like a truck did 50 years ago and the design is not practical. The engine however is great but the NX is not even a near luxury vehicle.

    Am I missing it or is remote start not an option with the Q5?

    $82,878 drive away price in Australia without any options. Optioned up would be close to $100k

    I appreciate the review of this particular Audi, Chris, and your candor. In general, Audi's are a very pleasant driving experience.

      David Wolf while I fully agree with your statement I feel like that could be said for much less costly options in This segment

    After thousands of miles driven, mostly surface roads, I can average 22.5 MPG. highway cruising can get you up above 30 MPG.
    Re: banging knees. On Prestige model, the kneel protection upgrades to leather so it’s a bit softer.

    • @lukeheffernan
      @lukeheffernan Před 3 lety

      You must have a heavy foot! My Dad's Q5 long-term averages about 25-28 in slower driving, and up to 33 on the highway!

    I have a '16 Q5, and I've driven '18. Major step down in interior. Audi service and customer support is abysmal. The interior layout in '18 is major step down. And the electronics interfaces are kludgy at best.

  • @ggolds5
    @ggolds5 Před 7 lety +1

    Way too many things missing in the mid line model. I wouldn't be buying an Audi to get the pauper model like I did with my previous Range Rover. Too little for too much. Spending high 50's for the top model puts this out of its segment Im sorry to say. I'm back to the much better Mazda CX-9. May not seem like a comparable vehicle but you get so much more for the money and a great handling vehicle with much more room and much more luxury features for a lot less money.

  • @JRMoritz
    @JRMoritz Před 7 lety

    I looked at the RDX and it is much smaller than the Q5 so it would be more in line with the Q3. The sales on the RDX may be higher than the Q5 however it is not in the same class of SUV's

    • @ryanlieberman9255
      @ryanlieberman9255 Před 6 lety

      JR Moritz
      The RDX is not much smaller than the Q5. It actually has more cargo room.
      The Q3 is tiny by comparison

    this car burns 1qt of oil every 500 miles, called audi usa and they know and acknowledge the fact that is defected but they will only cover half of the problem if you willing to fix it.
    districted manager told me that if it was me I would just continue adding oil.
    never again Audi

    I absolutely hate my 2019 Q5 quattro system. The quattro system fails every time when driving on snow and ice. So I drive it in off-road mode during winter and comfort mode in Summer. These cars are never meant for Canadian road conditions. I'll never buy an Audi again. It isn't a premium car anymore. I wish they go back to the Torsen differential and ditch Haldex. Stay away from quattro system, Canadians. It's not a full time AWD car anymore.

  • @garymoore3497

    Look, you tell Audi, if they throw out the plastic radiator, I might consider the Q5... Otherwise, I will buy a Lincoln. Audi has about 5 days from now, to reply.....

    I honestly would prefer the Mazda CX5 over this. If only the CX5 had a powerful engine option. This car is expensive as does nothing to provoke desire or want. Mazda did it better

    I am going to stop watching You Tube auto reviews. These are all promotional videos without any truthfulness at all. This review is especially boring and full of crap! No mentioning of how the door cup/map pockets were changed to a point of uselessness. The MMI LCD screen is mounted on the dash not in the dashboard. Sloppy work for a 50,000 dollar car. No mention of this car being built in Mexico... then why is it so damn expensive.
