- Brian's SVT Ford Lightning and Tej's NSX were two under-appreciated cars from the first movies.
In this video, I shed a little more light on their backstories and the building process for each of these cars. - Zábava
I love the curb hit, mad it seem more real. How he was angry after the fight.
These videos are way better than the entire franchise after the 5th movie
I've been watching these videos for a month, and it's the best info about the F&F cars!!! Thank you for letting everybody see these videos!
Definitely my favorite truck of the franchise.
Wow, so this pickup was faster than almost every car in the movie, incredible
I love that Tej's shop truck is painted in the same gaudy scheme to match. Even though we only see it for like 2 seconds.
Just when you thought he covered them all, Craig still be coming out with the bangerz!
As much as the curb smack makes me cringe, it really fit the character of Brian well to do that in that moment.
Great video as always Craig!
The "tuna" scene at Toretto's store was epic! Somehow the dialogue, actions, vibe and shots were perfect! I have a Lightning that I slap magnetic decals on to look like the Racers Edge parts truck occasionally when I take it to car shows!
I'd like to know more about the story behind the Prelude that connected 2F2F and the first movie. It featured Brian in a 2000GT I believe and him acquiring the R34.
Refreshing to watch content like this where someone talks like an adult.
“It wasn’t to my taste, but that’s fine, I wasn’t the audience anyway.”
Love the vids and the detail of how it all went down behind the scenes!
What Up TK Here my reactions are genuine but tempered knowing that people like me weren’t the target audience.
Love the videos Mr. Lieberman. A friend of mine actually owns the white NSX that was used...the car has over 500 whp and resides in the Minneapolis suburbs.
This just made my night. Thanks mr lieberman.
I like that NSX and the hit on the curb was hilarious and perfect for the scene since Paul was post off.
the Lightning was also in the scene where Brian breaks into Hectors garage if i'm not mistaken
I love that lightning. Wish it had more screen time.
I still can’t believe these videos exist. It’s like all of my childhood questions being answered.
All I take away from this is even though I'm disappointed, it could have been so much worse...
I've got an '03 Lightning an the first movie made want it even more. Its been heavily modified for many years now pumping out 605rwhp & 715ft lbs of torque.
I love the brutally honest opinion of Pimp My Ride 😂😂😂
Lightning also appeared briefly when Brian snuck into Hectors garage
I love that little scene
Good thing he’s a white actor, otherwise that scene would not have lived down in this age haha , any scene with Paul is memorable
The lightning was also in the scene while brian is breaking into the garage
That NSX paint color was perfect for a character played by Luda in the early 2000s. You couldn’t blend hip hop and Japanese sports cars any better that that.
The thing about the NSX, is Tej is a brotha, and that was something us brotha were into in the early 2000s. Makes sense he'd have cars done up this way, especially in Miami, where that style was wildly popular.
The SVT Lighning in the movie is what got me to get one.Thats what I was more interested. Played Gran Turismo so i know the Japanese cars.
How about that red Mitsubishi gt 3000 vr4 Brian is driving, in the extended 2Fast 2Furious DVD version?...when he buys the R34
That was a '91 Dodge Stealth cloned to look like a 3000GT which isn't uncommon practice, like people trying to pass off their Buick Regal as a Grand National.
@@DareToBeDeviant they’re the same car underneath anyway
It might have been a good thing that NSX was never one of the main cars in F&F series. They would probably became even more expensive than they already are.
True
I was shocked at how well Hollywood nailed Slap Jack and Tej’s art design on their cars then I remembered John Singleton directed 2F2F. Salute
As stated before, happy you’re doing the NSX!
Oooo, that curb smack. I had forgotten about that.
...5.2 seconds 0-60mph “not exactly rocket ships” man for a truck... a TRUCK. That’s an understatement
Compared to 12 second rwd imports it was slower. But yeah that's still pretty fast, and a lot of guys modded them for more boost and such.
Another awesome video, glad to see these 2 cars get a video talkin about them!
The fact the truck could dust most of the cars in the film is awesome.. the fact it's stock is even better
Wonder what the larger role would've been?
Hijacking in a pickup? Lol
Would've liked to see it as a backup at the races and crushing some unsuspecting foes
Every vid I pause on the pic of your supra and skyline on the drive way, it’s the dream for me
I love that one of the actual fastest cars in the first movie, wasn't even a car at all hahaha
Love the lightning i have had 4 a 93 94 99 and a 04 all where beautiful trucks
I preferred Mia's blue NSX from Fast 4 at the end, and that awesome trans am which needed more screen time
Felt that bump in my soul.
Tej's NSX is my favorite car in the entire series.
This is such a nice looking car. I’m shocked that no one ever tried to replicate this one but pretty much all of the other cars.
That NSX will haunt my dreams for ever
Tbh, talking about old cars from old FnF franchise is a LOT more entertaining than watching the new Fast9. Anyway Craig, what do you think about the new Fast9?
Hi, Mr. Lieberman. Unrelated Question, but I watched your video on brian's r34 from 2 fast 2 furious. Do you know why the R34 in that video was a greenish color, and looked kind of beat up before brian "restored it" surely there was no way a r34 could have been that in bad shape in 2003, since you mentioned you shipped them here from Japan? Also, what's with the red 3000gt being used in that sequence, was that intended to be a hero car too at one point? Also, was the Eclipse being driven by the girl that "saved brian" eventually turned into Roman's car?
The R34 was one of the stunt cars, hence the bad shape, and was painted green just randomly. I don't think there was any specific reason for it. The 3000GT was actually a Dodge Stealth. Not sure about the Eclipse. Craig's videos says Roman's cars were 2001s while the Prelude one is a 2003 but production pictures suggest that Roman's cars were also 2003s. Again, not sure. Craig might be able to explain better.
2:26 never knew that Brian hit the curb 😂😂
also tuna, no crust
Any Ideas what the back story was on the 3000gt in prelude to 2f2f
The lightings used in the movie were 99-00 360hp trucks. 01 they upped the power and changed the gear ratio in the rear diff.
This channel is so underrated
This channel is so great, thanks Craig
Update : One of the Ford lightnings is now owned by fastandfuriousintegra on ig aka Gabriel Tremblay
Going on 19 years now and we still don't know what Mia put in Brian's sandwich.
Very funny, Dom
If you could own 4 NSX's today, you would be a living legend!
Hasn’t it appeared more than 3 times ?
Chronologically,AFAIR;
-Pulling by Toretto’s place to get sandwich
-Pulled over by cops
-Carrying parts
-Pulling by Racer’s Edge shop
-When Brian broke into Asian dudes’ garage
GY It was Hectors garage at night cause he gets caught by Dom then they go and break into Trans garage but correct
YaBoiiz27 ah right, nice catch
I want to know about the 3000gt from the prelude for 2f2f.
and its race against the 360 modena spyder
I love how you used @Saabkyle04's Lightning video. I've been an avid subscriber/ fan/ slight friend of his for years. Love the SK04 Plug!
Shout out to Craig for the entertainment and all those questions I always wanted answered!
The blue one from the scene had sat for many years and looked terrible. It was sold a few years ago to someone in Arizona and he started by servicing it up to date, then started working on restoring the body, but never said what that meant. I can only hope it means what you mentioned, back to stock
All I've learned from watching these is Craig actually understood the actual tuner scene, and his employers... Did not.
Fun fact you played in the movie. Just like the director being the pizza man 🙏👏
Funny as hell that f9 trailer is the add to this video
What happened to all the Saleen mustangs? And the story on the one got run over the 18 wheeler.
I want to know if they were real Saleen's, since I read somewhere that they used V6's and made them look like S281's.
If it was a real S- 281 it would have torched all.
There was a collective groan in the theater when Brian hit that curb.
People actually new the lightning wasn't a regular f150 back then?
@@EastDallasKicks yeah, all the svt versions were well known. even the contour. Porsche had recently come out with the boxster (1997 in the US?) and if I remember right the lightning was faster 0-60 and in the quarter. Obviously it wasn't meant to rival a car in the class of a Porsche but I remember that gaining it some attention.
ourtime-downhere Haha rip to the lightning though they are kind of extinct
@@EastDallasKicks yeah, especially by today's standard although I've always kinda liked them. people want way too much for them though.
ourtime-downhere yeah I think it was estimated that 80,000 were made but I’d say less than 1/3rd of them are left (that are running and fairly stock to the point that it can still be considered a lightning) I think 10k is a good price but I can’t pay that and if I could I would probably just save for a 2011 Ford Taurus SHO
As a car I hate the 2f2f NSX but as a prop I love it. It fits as a car for flash former street racer with a big chunk of spending money. His Dodge ram is the same way it works as a shop truck for tej.
I think Craig should do some sort of Q&A. There are some great questions in the comment section.
Love that use of “hella”. Great content as always!
That nsx you where planning looks amazing🙌
It's actually very ironic that the lightning was faster than like 99.9% of cars in part 1. Only in fantasy land would these 10 minute cars actually be fast
Actually the rx7/supra would have been faster. That supra would have been at least a 12 second car if not faster with a big single turbo. The rx7 ran 14's stock and unmodded. All the other cars were slow crap though.
@@JesusChrist-uu2te that's why I said faster than 99.9%. assuming the Supra and rx7 were modded then they'd definitely be faster. Stock though supras and rx7s are not rockets, they're actually really slow considering how much hype they have. The lightning is also incredibly easy to mod. 12 second quarters with just a tune and pulley.
The 03-04 lightning got more boost and ran 13 second quarters stock...that made it just as fast as stock supras.
So I have owned 3 Ford Lightnings. The one you see is going to be either a 99 or 2000. In 2001 they updated the rims to a different style also the headlights were changed to clear headlights and clear corner lights. It also has the honeycomb grill which was changed in 2001. A quick Google search will back this up when searching for the parts. Either way it's cool to know that people could be using the actual Lightning as a daily driver and have no idea about it. Enjoy your videos keep up the good work.
Back in my high school days, I managed to get the money and I aimed at a NSX but instead I went to my all time favorite a Lincoln Town Car, which I still have. Now I see the difference in value and can’t believe the NSX has so much more but I love my Lincoln, too bad the company sucks now. I also own a 01 fire lightning, mostly because of that movie.
Love those Ford trucks! wish we got them over here
Slow as fuck compared to the turbo barra utes
I got the new F9 advertisement at the start of this video 😌😌
So did I lol
Adblock ❤
Hot wheels premium line is doing brians SVT ford lightning in their next lineup!
That's pretty cool, wish they would do DKs' Z
Thanks Craig!!!
Hey Craig, that's my favorite pickup
Lol i am dying at the pimp my ride part "piece of shit and turn them into piece of shit show car"
Whenever I think of the nsx,I think of the matching dodge ram. Cool duo. Great video!
The way he said hella fast 😂😂😂
I had driven my parents 02 f150 soon after they got it brand new just a regular f150 did have the 5.4. It moved alright for what it was. Then I got the chance to test drive a brand new lightning and dam what a difference in power compared to my parents f150. I was single no kids and that lightning almost came home with me. Couldn't get a good trade in for my escort gt I had at the time. The dealership only wanted to give me 500 for it and it was super clean no rust or dents and only had 85,000 miles on it. Told the dealership where they could stick their 500.
Honestly you could have just left the nsx bone stock and I don’t think anyone would have complained
Always thought seeing an NSX in the movie as a background car was a missed opportunity! Woulda been inifinitely better than that horrid Eclipse 🤣
ORS80 Hell no both cars are really nice
Ford SVT Lightning vs Dodge RAM SRT-10
Let the battle begin.
Fastest cars in the whole fucking movie were not even focused. That NSX and Lightning would have finished 1-2 in the 2G buy in.
Love learning about these cars
thanks craig. i last watched the first 2 movies when they came out and now after watching your behind the scenes videos over the past few weeks i rewatched the movies and saw them in a totally different light. i didnt expect these 'dumb' movies (theyre no citizen kane if you know what i mean) to have such thought and effort behind them
1st - Love the Videos!
2nd - I find it ironic that the Ford F-150 on set was actually the fastest vehicle in the movie, yet wasn't actually used for anything.
The car market may have been different in 2000, but honestly today you can buy really, REALLY fast cars right off the showroom floor, modding for speed seems kinda silly to me these day, but what do I know?
When Dodge sells the Hellcat for $65K with 707HP, what else is there to say?
I believe that movie had a big part in kicking off that trend
For real, I mean, you used to have to really spend a lot of money and time to get a really fast car, now you can just go pick them up, that's a double edge sword though with inexperienced people, lol
This Ford lightning with universal studios "The Racer's Edge" is a collector one, rarer than the flip car
Takauchi Nishika where is it now
The state of that NSX fills me with an irrational hatred of Ludacris
That’s sad the NSX went practically unused. I didn’t even know about Tej’s NSX until it was an event car in a racing mobile game.
I can’t hate on the NSX. I figure since it took place in Miami and they wanted to present a big and flashy car scene, it makes sense. Your design definitely would been cooler but I can kinda understand what they did.
Any info on the damage on the Lighting after hitting the curve?
Made me cringe too when I first saw the movie, and till this day.
Thank you for these videos!
What a great video, thank you for making it.
Hey Craig thanks for the videos! Would love to see a video on your current GTR at some point!
0:52 I never noticed how much the headlights/grill of a Mitsubishi Galant looked like a Lancia Delta Intregrale. I want a fuckin Intregrale so badly.
4 times we seen the svt one time when Vince Knocked out Brian when he was checking out Hectors shop
Love these videos man, keep em coming! :)
Watching / hearing the truck hit the curb still makes me cringe even now.
But it was real. It felt real. The point was how interesting it was as most cars that companys use to deliver automotive parts, use em like that.
@@tino897 true, most company cars are treated like rentals lol
Good video
As always
Some interesting stuff
I didn't know
Keep it up buddy👍
I *HATED* that curb smack. I remember feeling like I needed to get a front end alignment myself after that... 😆
Do the 70 challenger and 69 camaro from 2 fast 2 furious
I’m in NY and have seen attempts to sell cars that were “ from “ the franchise. 99% could not show proof. Some idiot had a pretty mint r33 for 40k and felt the need to lie about the history even though it’s a legit r33. Anyway. I do remember looking at a lighting svt and seemed to be legit. But the price was upsurd. I’m going on o try and look for the notes I have on it and the vin and maybe it’s one of them. Again it’s one of the few cars I believe were in the movie.
What was Hector's last name and can you pronounce it?
Dominguez-guitierrez-echevarria-almodovar-ruiz
Craig, was the scene where the lightning hit the curb actually supposed to be that way with him hitting the curb or was it an accident?
Accidentally
Who owned the wine coloured Toyota Paseo, EL54? It's not very common to see, it was on the lifts in Johnnie's garage.
Thanks 😁
