  • FINALLY... Finally.. Finally.. We have triple screens for the sim-rig. It took a while to get here as we have tried almost every other type of monitor / screen setup.
    Is it worth it? What are the pros and cons? What are my first impressions?
    Any questions reach out, enjoy the video :)

    Nice video with a lot of good points and personal perspectives. I’m glad you bring VR into the talk. I race on a big TV and VR and perhaps some day I will join you with triples! Best of luck!

      TV's are a great option these days as they are 60hz - 120hz and come in big sizes! Also they are getting more cost effective.
      The only issue is seeing your side windows which for me was a main purpose for getting triples.

    I got triples just the other week and i got everything for less than 350 USD. Display port to 2 HDMI splitter, 3 100hz 27 inch monitors, and the triple screen mount. found it all on Amazon. the monitors were on a massive discount tho and "like new". but even the 27 inch monitors are a huge step up from my (now dead and dim) 37 inch curved widescreen.

    ASUS also sells kits for that, called: ASUS ROG Bezel-Free Kit ABF01 Universal Multi-Monitor Setup with Optical Micro-structures Easy Assembly (Set of 2),CLEAR

      Thanks man, yeah that kit is so expensive. I've already got the film from a LCD TV. I'm just trying to build / find a mounting solution that will work 😊

      @@scorps0326 I'm putting my triples on motion, so for structural strength I'm gonna use 36" woodworking clamps. I'm gonna add a couple 3D printed brackets with soft foam that'll span the tv/monitor gap and hold the woodworking clamps in place. I'll also use these brackets to hold the bezel delete kits. Bit overkill if you don't have motion but a fairly inexpensive option for your bezel kits.

    Im on the fence, i have a 55" TV set at 120hz right now for my simrig. Play 98% only Rally games, so tripples are maybe not worth it. But i would love a 21:9 50"+... sadly theres none :/ Also have a Pico 4 for VR, but i cant be bothered to set it up every time. I know if it takes to long to setup and fiddle around with it, i wont do it at all.

    • @scorps0326
      @scorps0326  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Yeah for rally, I can't really recommend triples. It doesn't make as much of a difference compared to my 49.
      VR is amazing for rally, my quest 2 is heaps of fun in DR 2.0.
      Can be fiddly tho at times. One update can make you set it all up again. 🙃
      Triples take time to setup but once done its been great.

      I feel like buying a really good TV as my first to use in almost 2 decades. If road racing and Beam NG and maybe rally kind of work on that it might delay the inevitable :)

    I’ve been considering 27” triples as I’m tight on space and already have one monitor. Do you think 27” will provide enough fov to see the passenger mirror?
    Monitors will be set up right behind my csl dd wheelbase. Thanks

    • @thatmikeguy761
      @thatmikeguy761 Před 2 měsíci +1

      youll be fine most of the time i have 27's in pretty much a v shape because of space and it covers to the halo's of my seat some models you cannot see them proper but that might be the model so it wil be the same with 32's etc i do want to go to 32's someday myself but i would say its more of a immersion thing then a need

    • @scorps0326
      @scorps0326  Před 27 dny

      Yes with 27s you will be able to see your side mirrors. You may miss some of your rear view mirror as the vertical view is less but depends on your fov.
      27s are still fine and are still the choice for many.
      Maybe consider VR aswell if space is an issue and depending how much you race ✌

    Do games and PCs exist that can run the G9 57" at 2160P at >100 FPS? That might be quite the experience as well albeit not quite there for wraparound view. I'll be new getting in so will probably start out on a large TV (yet to buy) or a desk mounted 49/57" G9 (yet to buy). Triples, maybe down the line, seems hassle for impatient me. Also, hoping to declutter rather than cram a sim rig into my new (very own building) apartment.
    Some alien drivers seem to suffice with 49" but I can see the value of extra immersion and better side/mirror view for sure.

    • @scorps0326
      @scorps0326  Před 4 měsíci +1

      You can be fast with any equipment, it's more about what your used too.
      Yeah a 4090 plus high end CPU will net you high frames on that 57".
      It's more about the resolution, than the size of the screen 🙂.
      Triples definetly take up space, way more depth than my 49 did.
      Congrats on the new building!

    • @Cloxxki
      @Cloxxki Před 4 měsíci

      @@scorps0326 I did state resolution :) You can't get other 57s at the moment I think. Pricey but should be so glorious for work if I ever kick it off a rig... Might even get it for the desk to treat myself. 47 meagre years are over!
