Angelina Jordan is a Norwegian singer now living in Los Angeles, whose audition for the 2014 season of Norway's Got Talent, singing "Gloomy Sunday" in the style of Billie Holiday, became a viral video online and brought her worldwide press coverage at the age of 8.

7th Heaven is a song Angelina wrote several months after she signed with Republic Records. She was 15. The basic premise is never give up on your dreams and always have hope. The other woman was an actress, and you could see that she was dreaming of being a singer like Angelina and had that hope.
Other originals include Shield, what is life, and Oslo. Always choose the live versions. Shield is one of my favorites and has a James Bond vibe. What is life she wrote at 11 and performed at 12 and was her very first original. It has the vibe of a soft smoky piano jazz bar. Oslo she wrote at 12 and it is an old classic sound dedicated to her home city in Norway.
If you want a different genre, try EDM music, Above the Water, which was written for Angelina. Also Angelina recently within the past year saying the lead track for a movie. The song is Mercy which was originally done by Duffy.

Trivia: Angelina's sister, Juliette, is 6 years younger than AJ, which would make Juliette an 8-9 year old at the time of this recording. Juliette appears in 3 of Angelina's official music videos: "Valerie," "Million Miles", and "Suspicious Minds."

Hey you two, the "waitress" in this video was, so to speak" playing herself. Lots of aspiring artist, working for a living as waiters/waitresses. BUT when you get employed by THE BOSS, Miss Angelina Jordan, suddenly a lot of doors for other employments open up. Her nickname was given to her when she sang "the spell" from her musicians, and so is used in the music industry today.
Why would employment with AJ be a springboard for your career??? Because she only employs the best.

I'd never heard of "Leprous" (and hadn't seen your reaction, either) so I checked them out as you suggested. Nothing like Angelina of course, but if you like Leprous you REALLY need to react to Aurora (another Norwegian singer). Leprous is much more in Aurora's style (or vice versa?). She's 26 (so 10 years older than Angelina), sings almost entirely her own original songs, and has a very unique style. Again, if you like Leprous, you'll probably love Aurora.

Excellent reaction! Please check out her original song SHIELD about the protection her Mom and extended family provide her while pursuing her dreams. She was 12. Two versions of it but the live one from a Tv show is the best. There is also a live interview with her just before she gets up to perform the song if you watch the extended version. The song should be made into a James Bond OO7 movie with her as the daughter of a diplomat who is kidnapped and James has to save her.
Did you notice how much taller AJ is than the waitress in this video? Angelina is about 6â tall

I would like to see Angelina with the two other girls in the Norwegian trinity, namely Sigrid and Aurora. I know they are all very different sining styles but you put that much talent in one place and whatever you get will be amazing.
You two are a kick! I love this original song by Angelina Jordan. I truly like this video the best of any put out with this song. Yes, jazz-swing style. It sounded just as good when sung at her live outdoor concerts in Norway this summer. This is an old form of jazz called 'Swing', that goes back to the 30's & 40's. My mom
would go to Roseland Ballroom on Saturday nights to dance and listen to'The Big Bands'
that played there. When the band took a break, a few musicians would remain to accompany
a female soloist who would sing songs like this.

Maybe Dashy needs to make a list of things to remember for a given reaction. LOL Whatever works. Thanks for this reaction to Angelina's most recent original song. I believe 7th Heaven and Million Miles will be hits once fully promoted. That is not to say her other originals, What is Life, Oslo and Shield wouldn't be hits either. I love them all.
I love them all also each in their own way. They are each totally different in their style and tone. Angelina is an incredibly versatile artist! The one uniform element is emotion.

Tiny Little Girl
Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice will be 17 on Jan. 10, 23 and is now 6'1" tall and could be a super model, but I hope the major portion of her career will be dedicated to her music and taking the world to a better place. I don't think she even realizes this power she holds over us and the need to hear that signature voice to fill that empty void within all of us. Angelina Jordan is in fact the "Benchmark" for all other vocalist to try as they might to achieve.

Hi Dashy & Dad This came out a few years Ago and was the first real Jazzy Version and was A Brilliant one but like many Angelina Songs was Far Too Short I have been going through my CDS and sorting Them And if interested

I've attached the link to Alan Walker's 'Heading Home' concert featuring Angelina Jordan. Alan Walker is a well renowned singer/songwriter/musician/DJ with 32 singles. Angelina was 10 years old at the time, and she sing's Alan's "Sing Me to Sleep" and "Faded." Angelina is accompanied by Alan on the piano as well as an amazing orchestra. Alan restrung both of his pieces for this performance.

@DarrellW71. While there's no requirement that you like or appreciate Angelina, neither is there any good to come from negative commentary. It is Impolite at a minimum. Personally I like Floor Jansen, but I doubt your approach to AJ has won Floor any fans here!
As to the specifics of your Critique: Other than the rhythm track, which has some similarities (but also several differences) to Peggy Lee's "Fever", the Melody and the Lyric Content is totally different, so it is quite insulting to call this a "Fever Clone". .. at Most you could say that the rhythm is "reminiscent" of Fever. I suggest you go listen to Peggy Lee's song and then come back here and edit your comment.

I don't know who the hell you are, but David Foster who wrote "I Have Nothing" sung by Whitney Houston, after hearing Angelina's cover wanted to meet her (regarding your supposed lack of Angelina's vocal range). The great Quincy Jones called Angelina Mikel Jakson's only equal as a young man, and he was her producer and tutor and invited her to sing at his 85th birthday party. The remaining Queen after hearing her sing "Bohemian Rhapsody" on AGT publicly praised her (which had never happened before her) and left him the rights to her version.
