bro, u have some serious level talent. I had imagined thousand ways not to replace my old charger as only the connector was damaged. I bought cheap cords but they didnt last long. So now i was looking for a good quality cable which would have charged me around 300 rupees. It is not as if i cant spend 2000 on new chargers, it was because i knew the older one couldve been utilized to its fullest... Hatsoff to you bro

I repaired tons of laptop DC jacks/cords/chargers in my life, but holy jesus, that trick with cotton string, insulation tape and superglue to form new "shell" for connector - pretty clever idea, I must say... :) (I was always using new connectors bought in local electronic components store).

I should have watched this video before I spent $22 on Amazon.com to buy another new power adapter for my ASUS UX31A. It shows blinking orange light and charge 4 days for 25 percent. I suspect my chair runs over the wire before and damage portion of the wire. I cut out the middle part of the wire (based my my best guess since I do not have a multimeter to tell) and holy cow now it shows green steady light and my power charger is back to live and normal. Charged my laptop in 3 hours to 100% like normal. Thank you !!!

Hello! Nice video, smooth handy work fixing the laptop charger cable. How sensitive are those pins by the way? I have a habit of using compressed air cans to blow out dust from everything, and used it occasionally to blow out dust from the area around the pin as well, now this video made think if its a bad idea what I am doing in case the spray could damage or bend the pin. What do you think?

This is a great video and is exactly what I need to fix my power adapter but I can't tell what you're doing from about 1:30 to 2:10 (this is after you cut the adapter head out of the casing). It looks like you used a soldering iron on it then glue then rubbed it on paper. Can you please explain what you're doing or do you have step by step instructions on how to do this (like an Instructable)? I want to make sure I'm not missing any steps and this part looks important but you don't explain what you're doing. Thanks for taking the time to do this video!

the positive and negative wire can not touch each other or it will blow your laptop. He did soldering for one, then use tape to wrap it so it will not contact the other. The tape will isolate them. You are right that is very important part not to damage your laptop when you plug in so you use tape to isolate positive/negative wires, Karen.

@@noradenabdi7989 I believe this is the one where I used duct tape to insulate the wires and make the whole thing strong. That being said, I would be cautious since you don't want a fire from a short circuit, and you're better off just getting a new charger.
