Here I am going to show you How to Fix a Chewed Laptop Charger Cord by a Rat. In this Laptop Charger Repair Video I will show you How I fixed my laptop charger cable easily after the Rat bitten.
Because of Rat bitten my Laptop adapter cord it was not working and Getting heat at chewed place. So started repairing using soldering method which was shown in this video.

That was fixed with glue. Just need to use a blade to cut and open the box. Once if you open the box, again need to use perfect glue.

Connect the wires as per the colors. No need of soldering (it gives strength to joint) . Fix the joint tightly.

May in that particular part has short-circuit, you can try as you said. . But for soldering and rejoining you must take more care. Otherwise entire charger may get damaged.

It says on the charger's transformer box at around 0:20 that the charger is supposed to take the 100 to 240-volt input at around 1,2 ampere and output 20 volts at 2,25 ampere. In the video, the voltage is tested and shown to be very nearly 20 volts, just as the receiving computer requires. Therefore, this 'operation' does not affect the power output of the charger in this case :)

Guys olease dont do this, the risk shorting in future is very high.
Instead make a straight connection and for the live of god heatshink the shit out of it.
Also the soldering points should have no sharp edges as it'll cut the wrap over time.
