- Ruby the Zipper-Nosed Doberman passed away on August 2, 2022. She died of Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM). The death of Ruby was felt the world over as she was an inspiration to her millions of followers. Her owner, Charles Lindsey, worked tirelessly to share every amazing moment with her followers and expertly showcased how amazing, and truly unique, the Doberman breed is. This tribute is dedicated to Ruby. The world knew Ruby under the handle rubydooby_do on Instagram and TikTok, and Rubydoobydo on Facebook.

Thank you for this beautiful tribute to Ruby and Charles. I have watched it several times waiting for the tears to stop, but they won't. Even when smiling, they still fall. They started with the first picture which is my favourite of all. It totally encapsulates her personality, strength and the absolute trust and love between them. Thank you again for doing this tribute. Ruby is dearly missed and Bruce has mighty big paws to fill. I'm sure he's up to it though.

Every time I watch Ruby, tears flow. A Doberman is unlike any other breed. I actually had a beautiful male, Zeus, that lost his life to the same malady. I miss & love Ruby. Love you too Bruce

Ruby a gift from God!!! A jewel indeed!!! Thank you for sharing!! It brought tears to my eyes .Memory of our beautiful Deisel male, died last April of 2022. He was 10 yrs. 5months. He had congestive heartfailure. Had him on meds.for 5months. He progressively got worse ,wouldn't eat. We knew then it was time. He died in our arms, my husband and I loved him enough to let go. He was so trusting and knew we would see him again in Heaven. He passed away and we knew we had done the right thing. Dobermans are awesome in everyway, we have fond memories of our Deisel just as that of beautiful Ruby. The Dog song on CZcams so fits our beloved pets. ❤️ take a listen, it will bless you!!!!
I've known for years that it's how they're raised and not a fault of the breed. One of the loveliest dogs I ever knew (and possibly one of the derpiest *laugh*) was a doberman. Absolutely wonderful dog. So long, Ruby - you'll be missed by everyone.

When learned of Rubys passing, my heart completely broke. She was like family to me and I can only imagine the heartache Charles and him family felt.
When I learned of Ruby’s death, I sobbed as much as I’d lost my own. My petsitter arrived minutes later; when I told why I was crying, she, too, had also followed Ruby & Charles. We cried more together & shared our favorite memories of her. Ruby touched so many hearts. ❤

Owning any dog has emotional highs & lows, but dobermans are able to enhance such moments through their endearing behaviour & particular habits.. A truly special energy & a relationship that has positively reinforced the reputation & showcased the beauty & intelligence which this breed inherently possesses. 💖 8 amazing years of devoted companionship & some fantastic memories.
I have had 5 Dobermans and have adored every one of them. They are pure joy! So intelligent and loving. I miss my last one, Max, who only lived 8 years. What a great dog he was. They are absolutely the best breed. Pure love!!❤❤❤

In the 1970’s I met my first Doberman and she was the sweet girl. I went from being scared as in 1970’s Doberman was the “terrible” breed to seeing how sweet they are. Thanks to my friend’s Doberman, I understood just how amazing they always are! Heartfelt condolences on the loss of a most magnificent Ruby!

Ruby was a GREAT dog! I took care of a Dobermann for a couple of months for a friend of mine. He looked a lot like Ruby. He was a sweetheart and SO smart! It broke my heart when he had to go home! 😢

I love the videos of the daily antics of a doberman. It is so authentic. They can be so comic. Love the reds, as well as the blacks, and any others, fawns, blues etc. Bottom line, I love them all. I have had as my companion over 13 dobermans, throughout my life. In addition, I volunteered for doberman rescue and placement. What a pleasure and complete joys all those experiences have been. I love this breed. They are full of so much love, affection, devotion, loyalty, and sacrifice. I cannot say enough about Ruby and this absolutely wonderful breed of dog. I have been the recipient of such blessings in being privileged to share my life and home with these loving animals. Thank you for revealing the true character and personality of this breed.

I had a Doberman when I was a teen and in my 20's and she was one of the best breed of dog that I ever had one of the most loyal friend that I ever had. Loved you Rubydobedo rest in peace beautiful baby! Gone not forgotten!

Ruby, you were just remarkable! You brought joy to some many. As owners of a 4 year old Doberman, we will strive to continue your impact on the world and the Doberman breed. Our first Doberman died from a pancreatic tumor. This was mostly caused by over vaccination, which is a cause I strongly am opposed to. While DCM took you away, I will continue to bring this affliction along with vaxs to the forefront for all dogs. You demonstrated to the world that the Doberman is a truly wonderful, loving dog. They are intelligent and loyal.

I used to own a Doberman. I had no intention of ever owning a Doberman when one came to me. Someone dumped a puppy at my aunt's house. The puppy was healthy and looked to be full-blooded, so I have no idea why she was dumped. Our previous dog had died and my aunt thought we needed this puppy. She was the most well-behaved, smart, sweet, and gentle dog ever. It was amazing to see her mind work.

The first time I saw Ruby and Charles I was in love! Loved her beautiful facial expressions and her love for Charles! And then I was heartbroken to hear she passed! Know when I watch her videos I laugh and cry! She has made an impact on everyone! I k ow how it feels to lose your dog who is your family. I now just recently bought an shorkie whom I named Maxmillion Bear Kinman! He has bought joy to my life ! Rip sweet girl and can’t wait to see the adventures of Bruce!❤

When I first got wind of Ruby immediately I fell in love with her! She has an amazing Dad and mom whom loved her so much. Charles I’m so thankful that you shared her with us and I can see the love she had from you and how she also loved you and your family. This was so great. Thank you for taking time to make this documentary honoring Ruby and Charles. Theirs was a special relationship. I have a German Pinscher, kind of a medium size pinscher, and the Dobies are the large. Dobies are big lap dogs. They are sweet and beautiful, protective, and intelligent. It always kills me to see some of them with prong collars on. That tells me that their handlers don't understand them, or have gotten them for the wrong reasons. They are beautiful creatures, and Charles has shared that with literally millions. I adore Ruby and often have tears in my eyes when I watch her with Charles, who is a total love. Thanks for bringing this to us.

Yes! I was a follower of Ruby and Charles. She was amazing. I still follow with his new pup Bruce. Charles has showed how amazing the doberman breed is. I also had a dobie. I lost him to cancer. He was also amazing. Their is nothing like this breed of dog so smart and intelligent. I have had 3 and everyone of them were fantastic. I wouldn't own any other breed. Truly amazing.

I was always afraid of them until my dad got his at 10 weeks old and he trained his exactly as you did with Ruby, your time and patience and the connection he and you both made with your pup created a spectacular creature.. My condolences. I lost my Doberman Dutch, almost a month ago and I know how tough it is to lose a precious Doberman. Until we all meet again.🐾
My condolences on Dutch. Remember when you’re down that you’re not alone in mourning the loss of your Doberman. Too many of us have been there. That hurt you feel is a sign of the love you have for Dutch. Don’t be ashamed of the tears that come at the worst of times. I still get them for both my Dobies.
