  • Join us for a captivating interview with Nelson Tsui, a distinguished individual born in Shanghai, raised in Hong Kong, and educated in Canada. After completing his post-secondary education in Ontario, Nelson's career took a unique turn when he worked for the Correctional Service of Canada in British Columbia.
    Nelson's commitment to community service extends beyond his legal career. As a community editorial board member for The Vancouver Sun and a political/legal columnist for Sing Tao Daily in Canada, he received recognition in the 1996 Global Professional Chinese Writers' Competition for political commentary.
    In 2002, Nelson was appointed as a disciplinary prison judge in federal penitentiaries, dedicating 15 years to this vital role. His contributions earned him the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for community service, and in 2014, he was appointed a Queen's Counsel (Q.C.).
    Currently residing in Vancouver, Nelson delves into his book, "Serious Court: Confessions of a Prison Judge," shedding light on the voices of inmates, especially those facing judgment through Serious Court.
    Furthermore, Nelson discusses his second book, "Stories Behind My Paintings".
