    I’m excited to see how planar IEMs evolve with the popularity of this set. Personally I’m holding off because of the shell design. Seems a bit awkward, and your trouble with tip selection supports my concerns. Great review as always 👏👏👏

    I'm still rocking mine! Super detailed and great resolution, never had any problem. Separation is TOTL. BTW, amazing tuning for a planar. Still remember to this day that my first reaction was "holy crap, bass!". Wasn't expecting that from a planar at all. And as you said, organic mids and they sound great, love it. I adore the 7hz Timeless OG and I got the AE yesterday. 1/ I wanted a second pair since I plan some experiments; 2/ hoped for some improvements like more sub-bass, less recessed vocals. Well, I got it - sub-bass is already slightly more, mid-bass a spec more but enough to make bass guitars and drums fuller, male vocals are more textured, slightly warmer. But even more treble is more liquid w/o loosing details and airiness and even cleaner.

    I didn’t think anything could top the Oxygen, Ikko OH10 or the Tea. I was totally skeptical, but WOW. I LOVE these suckers. I’m a girl, and agree that the stem is stubby, but they work fine for my precious, fragile little ears. So guys I’m not sure that will work too well for you, unfortunately, but it is matter of taste I suppose. I do produce music, electronic mainly, and I was born with perfect pitch, which i only learned later I life, so i am very picky, apparently, and I think the detail is incredible with these. I can’t afford to spend more than $300 at any one time for stuff like this, so I’m sure there is better, out there, but I will never know, unless I build them myself. This is why I have beautiful horween leather boots, I decided to build them myself. So maybe, one day. Highly recommend these.

    Great review, thank you! Interesting that the tips made such a difference for you. I definitely had to try quite a few different tips before settling on Spinfit CP100's. I wonder if my choice of tips are why I never experienced sibilance, which is what another reviewer was complaining of? I also have the Blessing 2, and so far (it's been about a week of ownership only) I am really enjoying the Timeless. For me, it addresses the tiny things I would wish changed on the B2, namely more bass and tone down the treble a smidge. I feel like it both doesn't have the same clarity as the B2 but I can also hear more, and your way of describing note weight clarified my thoughts for me.

      As for the comparison to the OH10.... I haven't heard it in a long time. If memory serves me correctly, the OH10 is not as well resolving, not as controlled throughput and is more v-shaped. That is all that I remember about the OH10.

    • @juanblanco7898
      @juanblanco7898 Před 2 lety

      @@TheHonestAudiophile Thank you! Sounds about right, just like I expected. Do you remember anything about their soundstage? It is considered to be almost the best in this regard under 300$ and their tuning certainly helps with it at the expense of more neutral tonal balance. Can't do both exceptionally well, I believe. At least at this price point. Well, if you don't remember than it probably means there wasn't that much of a difference to leave an impression. Some would argue that the perceived sounstage is so limited with IEMs in general that there's very little sense in all this talk at all. Not me, though. I think that the staging might be one of the most important aspects even if it comes at the expense of sheer resolution and microdetails. Although I'm ready to trade one for another, but with moderate gains/concessions. To a reasonable degree, of course. I've read that the Moondrop Aria actually has pretty decent sounstage buy it certainly lacks in clarity and resolution. Etymotic ER2XR, on the other hand, purportedly are detail monsters for the price but come with minuscle sounstage and somehat compressed macro dynamics. Both would be a no go for me.

    If you don't mind I have a couple of questions. How do these iems reproduce vocals? I'll explain. I used Dan Clark Aeon 2 closed-back headphones so the voices sounded like a step or two behind you and it was a problem to me cause I prefer vocals one or two steps in front of you. So what about 7hz Timeless?
    I heard you saying about the Moondrop Kato that you like them for listening to CZcams and watching movies. I also listen to a lot of CZcams, podcasts and tv shows so my main priority is to hear natural, clear, well-articulated and pleasant voices without any sibilance. Would it worth it to step up my budget a little ? instead of 200-250 are there really grat step up option if I go to 250-300 ? Or it is not worth it because of diminishing return ?.

    Nice review. I'm not sure though what's going on with your case? Mine is the perfect size to carry in my pocket. As for accidentally opening I think that's practically impossible. Best stock iem case ever. I've heard some people complain it's hard to get the Timeless back in the case which also confuses me. They must be wearing oven mitts. I keep an iBasso DC01 dac in the case WITH the Timeless. It's a great pairing with them btw, they scale REALLY well with one

      Thanks for your impressions. I like the case but it is a solid chunk of metal and 8t is small, barely fits the Timeless inside. Mine easily opens up so I'd be careful with it in a bag. I don't wear pants with big pockets so it doesn't fit in any of my pant pockets.
