- The King spoke of England's "bad luck" as talk naturally turned to the impending Euro 2024 tournament when Charles was reunited with former footballer, David Beckham, at a star-studded awards ceremony.
The national squad suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat to Iceland in a friendly last Friday before Gareth Southgate's Three Lions headed to Germany for the tournament, with David reassuring the King: "Warming up, we'll be ok."
The monarch, 75, was joined by a host of celebrity ambassadors at the King's Foundation Awards at St James's Palace on Tuesday night, including Sir Rod Stewart and his wife and Loose Women star Penny Lancaster, actress Sienna Miller, supermodel Naomi Campbell and former British Vogue editor Edward Enninful.

What a joy Beckham must be to the king. William is of course his best man, but Beckham can be counted as one of the loyal friends and younger supporters who really seems to care for Charles.

I would like to see King Charles give Naomi Campbell a damehood for all she has done for the fashion industry and the women and men of colour to be accepted and thrive within that toxic industry. She is in her fifties and is still walking the runway. I would also like to see David Beckham be Knighted and Victoria Beckham also getting a damehood. They are both hardworking people who have built an empire they took their families along for the ride never left them. They have done so much for this country. This is my wish for the New Years Honours list.
Prince Phillips favourite singer was Shirley Bassey. King Charles favourite were The Three Degrees. As Prince of Wales he has done more for the black youth than anyone else. He is still doing it now he is King. He has learned about all religions. So for people to keep branding him a racist need to grow up. Stop causing problems where problems don't exist.
King Charles loves his country and it's people. Yes he did the dirty on Diana but she has been gone for over 25 years. He has proven his worth.
You were doing so well until you claimed he ''did the dirty'' on Diana when even Diana admitted SHE was the one who was playing away from the time Harry was a young toddler.
She shouldn't have married him but when she tried to pull out HER FAMILY refused to allow her to do so. The same people apologised to Charles before they died, seems they knew the marriage was going to be a failure but still wanted it to go ahead for their own personal advancement/reasons.
Diana needed a husband out of the public eye and who had the time to spend ON HER, Charles had, and has, a very heavy workload and she couldn't cope with that. Not her fault (and in fairness, playing away runs in her family DNA, has done for centuries and I can't blame her for something I honestly don't think she could control, her brother is no better either) she was who she was. But it WAS her families fault and at least her father and one grandmother admitted it before they died, and asked forgiveness (allegedly received) from Charles for basically ruining his life. She was a troubled soul and her family made things much worse for her.

I used to love Rod's early '80's music too.
When I was in the 10th grade in High school, (1981-1982), Rod Stewart had come to our town in concert, (in Virginia), while he was on tour for his 'Tonight I'm Yours' song!
I didn't get to go and see the concert, but I actually was able to listen to the concert on the radio at home that night.
The concert was on a school night, and a boy that I knew from school was allowed to go to that concert, and I was resentful and jealous about that too.
(Later, I had lost my virginity with that same boy!).
We were both 15.
