    Until today I thought the Navy had taught me to sew patches really well. But I did not know the thread/knot trick, and I honestly thought the purpose of a thimble was to keep you from sticking yourself.

    All my patches have super thick glue on them and it takes all I got to push the needle through it. Should I try using a bigger needle? It’s really hard to use the tiny ones and push them through. It seems more natural to use my thumb but there’s no thimble big enough. 😂

      Hummmm try just catching the edge. You can also get a leather thimble finger thing. They use them in leather making.
