This is the easiest tutorial for this on here! I had gotten so frustrated not being able to get a darn knot (no pun intended) tied, and then I found this video. Thank you!!!
I hope it's not too late...considering it's been 11 months. But I found another tutorial that helped me as well. czcams.com/users/shortsWSO05kF2T5A?feature=share This one helped me more than this one, but whatever works for you. I'm no professional sewer but I'll try to explain what I did as direct as I can: Put the single string into the hole/eye of the needle first. You have to even out the ends afterwards which means pulling one of the lower strings to be equal to the previously longer string. Make sure both strings are on your palm. You might need to extend your index finger whilst your other fingers closed--like a "karate chop" but pointing. Wrap the string around the bottom of your pinky finger. Once you do that, use your other hand's thumb and index to curve the string to behind the needle. With the two open ends of the string, you can smooth those out with your fingers or licking it (sounds disgusting but it does it) in order to stick them together. You lift those same strings that you just smoothed out and place it in between the fingers (thumb and index) that you're holding the needle's eye to. Lastly, with the string underneath your pinky, you want to do an overhand wrap at least 3 to 4 times. Once you've done that, you can pull in those wraps, but don't let go until you've reached the end of the string. Give it a little tug on the knot so it's not too loose. I didn't do that last time and my knots were messy. + This works for both right/left hands. I have used a suture needle and it works the same. I recommend doing the straight needles first since they are easier to practice with. Good luck.
am I the only one who couldn't get this to work? no matter what I'd do it'd just fall apart whenever I let go. I don't even see how the loops around the needle even get to the ends of the string
Thank you! I’m starting to sew and I was a bit confused at first, but then I figured it out, not time consuming and very delicately explained, thank you!
Thanks! You saved me! My art teacher gave us homework, and he told us to sew. After watching this short, i finally know how to tie the knot thank you so much😊 13 year old here
Thank you!!!!! I’ve been struggling through my end knot every time I sew, for as long as I’ve sewn. I have seen a different “trick” online, and tried it many times, with no success. This worked on my first try!!! thanks so much.
TYSM for this, my Bendy plushie's arm was falling off and I was upset but I remembered I have a sewing kit but I didn't know how to tie the thread, this is so helpful
For those who need another method, I loop the end of the string around the first joint of my first finger, maybe about 3 rounds.. Then use my thumb to roll the ring of string to the tip of my first finger.. It should get tangled, then just pull on the end of the string and it will have a knot. Not sure if I explained this clearly 😅
that's how i learned it. works maybe half the time. for some reason i just can't always get knots like this to work on purpose and just tie an overhand knot now. but i get plenty of knots from tangles just sewing normally 🤪 lol
Literally the easiest tutorial and I’m so happy because I’ve always struggled with knotting threads 😭😭 now I can finally make a plushie of my favorite character :33 (also I found out it still works if you wanna double knot with no problems!)
This saved my life, thank you so much I’m just a girl who’s constantly fighting for her godamn life and none of these other bitchass tutorials wanna explain to me how to tie the knot
Thank you so much!! You explained this so much better than anyone else so! I was pathetically struggling with this lol 😆 and it wasn't even that hard! 😅

I think you wraping the other string, hold the other one( not the one close to the needle) and then do what she said. I am pretty sure it will work.
I don't get it either
I got it the first time 😅
But I watched the video on 0,25 speed, that helped a lot!
Been trying this for 15 minutes but it still isnt working argh
Yeah the part she held the bottom thread on top was missed. Got it after watching couple of times

Tailors do this much quicker and with one hand.
You basically use your finger instead of the needle and takes no more than 2 seconds.
