people please if you have windows 7 laptop that you got in 2011 or before do not install windows 10 not all the drivers all supported you will have problems later....but if you have windows 8.1 laptop that you got on 2013 or 2014 then you are safe .on windows 7 you can install windows 8.1 its has updates till 2023
That's not always true... It depends which Windows 10 version you install.. and even then, my computer which had a first generation i7 (over 12 years old).. And it still runs the latest Windows 10

Ok.... I tried this thing. It took me almost 4-5 hours to download but in the end it did ask me the product key. I went to Google.... got one random key luckily it worked and I upgraded my windows 8.1 to 10 successfully. One problem is there, to personalize my PC it again asks me to activate windows and a product key. But overall im very much happy with the results.

HELLOOOO PLEASE I'M IN DESPERATE NEED FOR HELP! so I tried to update my computer from win7 to win10 and it all went well until it tried to restart. the computer is now stuck on the boot screen (nothing but a black background with the windows 10 logo, nothing is loading) and nothing is happening. it's been like that for two hours, and I am at loss. You see that you can charge what you want to backup, or just use a cloud system and store everything.

Yeah, but it might lose some files so, better to backup.

If you backup, in case if you tap the option " keep personal files " , some of your data might be deleted so, remember the apps you have and use on your PC for this.

After disabling windows firewall, I was able to download and make progress. Now I must remove Trend Micro security software to complete the installation. Unfortunately, I don't remember the password or email address. the last resort is to find the Trend Micro key to make some progress. Not sure where to find the key.

@@petitlouis5010 the sticker might be on the underneath or back or your laptop/pc. There's also a programme you can install which will give you your product key. It's called Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder.

I think it's great that Microsoft still has the upgrade program where Windows 7 users can upgrade to Windows 10.
However, I think if you have a Windows 7 laptop/desktop, it might be better to buy a new laptop/desktop entirely.

Hi, I've tried multiple times but error ( 0xC19001001 - 0x30018 , installation error on first boot fase with error on SYSPREP_SPECIALIZE) keeps happening, I have uninstalled antivirus software, checked over Windows update with all updates(with several failures during the process but got them all), a bit desperate, followed the process for upgrade actual computer haven't tried with USB stick method
Do you have and devices plugged into it bot like key boards but like wifi adapters maybe(if u have a desktop like me) then u should hard wire it
I tried but received error code 0x80072F8F - 0x20000. I have Windows Starter 7 so maybe that's why.😗 "We're not sure what happened, but we"re unable to run this tool on your PC" so I will research the error code and hope for the best!!
Dang, it says it's not a valid link on the laptop which is running Windows 7. On my desk top with Windows 10 the link works.
