Porsche GT4 Prep and Clio Behind the Shmenes! | SHMUSEUM VLOG 18

- Today at @TheShmuseum we're preparing the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 for an upcoming adventure, while going behind the scenes of the @Shmee150 Renault Clio Shmeemobile collection day!
First up, we've got some new tyres for the GT4 from Michelin, and in particular a set of Pilot Sport Cup 2 ready for some action ahead. The original tyres on the car have seen the best of their life and with 2,500 miles ahead including Autobahn and Nurburgring action, it makes sense to get the new ones on to be prepared. As such, the first stop is to take the G63 loaded up, and the GT4, over to Whoops! Wheel Fix It, before continuing on to Dub Customs to pick up the Clio.
Upon return, we grab the Ford GT and C63 AMG Black Series to go back to Whoops to show the guys the cars, and then bring everything back home. Certainly a busy day, as always with a lot to get done!

PRO TIP: The Shmuseum shoud purchase a couple sets of hydralic dolly jacks to move the cars around w/o starting them. One person can push any car on them. Have them rated for lifting the G-wagon .

I love the Clio 2 so much, especially the Phase 2, that I bought a 1.2 16V for my errands around town.
Its size, driving dynamics, and comfort make for a wonderful daily driver.
Their major issues are:
- Clear coat fading (which is a major issue)
- Electrical failures (mainly due to water getting in, due to small drainage holes)
- It is a ~20 year car
So, try find one that was kept on a garage, and have fun!

I gotta say I loved it when Tim is proudly talking through which of his many cars have been onto the Nurburgring, then pauses for a moment as a thought occurs to him and says: “actually it seems like most of the cars haven’t yet…” Real-time gold.

Tip for removing number plate stickies is to put kitchen roll on top of them and soak it in tar and glue remover so the kitchen roll stickes to the stickes and let it sit for 15mins. The stickies will litterally peal straight off.

Im 1 minute into the video, your back and forth (tim and tom) is script worthy!
To make your life easier on removing the sticky pads. First take a hairdryer at them. Loosens the glue, followed by soaking any remaining glue with white spirit. Little rubbing later. Hey presto it’s all off in a jiffy.
Tom is really finding his groove!

Nothing can replace the G63 in utility or cool factor. That noise! Hang the Clio from the ceiling of the new shop. Some LED lights. Chandelier style.
Put the old Clio wreck in a glass box on a wooden base, and display it as it sits. The crumpled twisted metal is beautiful chaotic artwork.

Just first impressions guys. It is really great hou two guys are there. Honestly. I'm not sure if it was a year or eighteen months ago Shmarc150 remarked . . . there was a great deal of stress for Tim just driving from one side of the country to the other so many times. But anyway, it is great to hear Brad, you ARE there! But also . . . how relaxed can you be driving a GT4? You dark horse of a good driver.
But I have a very small . . . ridiculously small point. I am a long way east of the Eifel mountains but there has been a lot of good steady rain here . . . cannot Tim have access to wet weather tires at the Ring? Or is he already bombing it into the three or four days of perfect weather at the end of this week? If so, a super big hello to Robert! I really wish Tim could have a lap with Robert driving.
Really feel like the M3 should be going to Germany to enjoy what it was built to do. Its more special than just a daily driver behind the scenes. 😔
