    Very nice video. I just got my Hell's Forge after watching your video first, applying my Hellscote and let it dry for two days. Now I'm gonna test for leaks (fingers crossed) and light the forge if all goes well. Thanks for making this video!

    My Hells Forge will be delivered Monday. I liked the US General cart set up so I already purchased one.

    Nice! I got the normal two burner one instead of the Max version. Kind of nervous getting the refractory to water mix right, but other than that I’m excited. It did say it’s coming in two weeks though so might not be able to give an update for a while.

      Worst is case scenario, if you mess it up you can always bind more. Just add a little bit of water and keep mixing until you get it to a good consistency don't put a large amount of water in all at once. Thanks for watching, good luck, and welcome to the craft my fellow Smith!

      I had it for a couple months now and I'm still very happy with it. I also did some forge welding with it in another video and it turned out fairly well. The only modification I've made is the additional unoff bell valve switch.

    Thanks great video, I believe my new forge has a leak and I have to figure out what to do from here.

      If it's a Hell's forge like mine and its not easily patched, I would recommend contacting them. Through Amazon if that is where you purchased it. They sent.me.a new assembly no questions asked.

      Thank you fox! Yes the handles will get hot if I touch them. The scratches were unfortunate but nothing a quick paint job didn't fix.

    As far as the leak goes , I think you're forgetting that there will be no pressure at that fitting when it's actually in use ...

      Simply following the manufacturers instructions. I'd rather err on the side of caution and take their advice.

    After you have had this for a while do you still think it’s a hog or did you figure out how to get gas consumption down?

    • @steelforestweldingandforge
      @steelforestweldingandforge  Před 2 lety +1

      Honestly it's about the same as my old hand built single burner forge. I can't really explain it but it seems seems to be about equal fuel consumption but it is definitely slightly larger. The biggest problem that I run into is that my 5 gallon tanks begin running cold quicker than on my previous forge. This forge really requires a larger tank to run for long periods.
