My brother and I are seasoned pinballers. We own a Wonka CE and 3 other pins. We are big Toy Story fans and we even preordered one before even seeing it. That said, we cancelled our preorder the minute we saw it because the price hike felt like a slap in the face considering the lack of innovation and cheap cake toppers. We were ready to drop 15k for a CE. I played it at my distributor’s place for 2 hours straight. It’s a good shooter, but frankly, it’s downright offensive that JJP would assume most people would value this game at 12k-15k. If theme sells alone and value is not a factor, why not sell it for 18k or 20k? I will no longer preorder any JJP in the future without seeing the pin and I’m sure I’m not the only one. This has really tarnished JJP’s reputation for me.

These reviews are probably the best content creation in the entire pinball community.
Thrilled to see you and Greg keep this thing going.
I always enjoy these reviews and everything y’all do for the hobby.
Thank you sir! Your support goes along way!
Them outtakes at the end of the video is my favorite part, faaantastic fun🤩🤩
Watching this review again, don't agree with everything but all in all a really solid review thanks SDTM. And I realize how much I miss Zach's usual closeup walkthrough of the playfield. Those are awesome, would have been cool to have that here.
I got called an idiot on FB for comparing this game to 90s Bally/Williams games. It has that feel to me. Thanks for validating my thoughts. F the haters who won't say it's a fun game because they don't like the price.
Nope! To me it’s very 90’s BW! It’s pinball! Fun is what it’s all about man! People will come around to it just like Star Wars, Stranger Things and honestly even Munsters has made a bit of a come back(Greg)
THANKS for another great review!
Played it on location and had FUN!
And that's all that matters.
Stay Safe
U guys are the best Always make a review fun as as all get out to watch. Never boring keep it up. 👍👍
Like how the loud Stern fan starts up right at the end of Greg’s rant to cool everything down. Speaking of value loving my EHoH 40 and definitely not worth it to most but I love it. Fun video as usual and keep ‘em coming.
Man I want an Elvira so bad!!! Congratulations and enjoy it! Don’t worry what others say! (Greg)
If it's Pat's last game, I think he had a great career, made some of the best layouts and toys and inspired me a lot!
100%
This pinball machine is like thinking you’re going to get Star Wars but instead you get Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Forky = Jar Jar
Woody spinner sound is one of the best sound effects on the game imho. Thanks for the review guys. Always love your reviews!
Big thanks SG!
Ooh a film you say?! Can I come to the red carpet opening? Wpuld more excited for that than any film in the theatre right now! Lol
Glad to hear they have changed their flipper feel and it's better. That's my main complaint with Wonka it's the softest shooting machine I've ever played, it doesn't feel right.
Yeah flippers haven’t been any issue on ours. I haven’t even boosted the power yet
52:46 A legendary rant. Love it.
It almost found the cutting room floor, but always entertaining seeing Greg go on a tirade about something he’s passionate about
honestly I love hearing anybody talk about stuff they're passionate about. Part of the reason I love your channel is cuz you guys care so much about pinball👍
This was a fun review and perhaps my favorite outtakes yet! I think ill try hissing at the cat that keeps taunting my french bulldog.😝Keep the reviews coming!
Oh Greg and his unorthodox ways of handling other creatures
Loved the rant at the end, made my day and totally agree with you. Thanks
Thanks Zach. Great review! Scott Hudson
I initially thought that this game was going to be boring. I finally got to play it on location and I have to say that I was completely wrong. I even tend to say that out of the recent pins, I enjoyed it the most, and I am not even a fan of the movies. This shoots like butter and gameplay made a lot of sense. Solid, classic pinball action - maybe not spectacular, but still great. Wouldn’t mind owning one. After all, Pat still knows what he’s doing.😏
The machine reminds me of gofers a bit but without the bash toys, kind of like an evolution of what worked.
Commenting to fire up those youtube algorithms. Seriously though, the reviews are great. You helped me make decisions on two of the three pins I own.
Hell yeah! Thanks
Lmfaoo Greg was going IN on his rant at the end
I would love to see you guys review a clean home use only Black Spiderman 2007. I’ve got one and it’s a totally different feel and game than the Vault.
Not a bad idea
Played it at southern fried expo. All of Elwin’s were better to me.
Got a pin from FlipnOut earlier this year. Highly recommend!!!
I had to comment again holy shit from the time Greg goes on his rant till the end is absolutely fantastic. I have laughed my ass off n it is just what I needed guys. I have Munsters premium n tmnt n guardians of galaxy and was wanting on Elvira in November or December but just got confirmed I have cancer again and have been depressed some but watching u guys tonight was just great for me keep it up y’all are fantastic. 👍👍👍👍
Robert sorry to hear about the health buddy. :( Stay as strong as you can and keep kicking ass my friend. Let us know what you’d like to see next on SDTM and we will try to make it happen!
.So sorry to hear this and stay strong! Just like zack said, Shoot us a game or idea and let us see what we can do for a future episode! (Greg)
Thanks guys y’all are the best. Doctors said not to worry they had it I said great I’m only 56 and still have a lot of pinball flipping to do. 😂👍👍
G'day from Australia lads !!!
G’day!!!
You should consider adding another category to your criteria, that somehow factors in purchase price as a possible value metric. Example: bang for your buck. May be hard to do, but it's definitely a huge part of this particular pin. One of the most frequent things, I hear in association with Toy Story 4 is the valuation of what you are getting or not getting in the case of Toy Story 4 at the price point.
Not a bad idea but we don’t like rating a game based on its cost. But we do think it’s important to discuss
@@SDTM Ok, I feel like you did some videos in the past where you compared different Sterns and compared the different models and that definitely took valuation into account. I know Greg factors cost into his personal pin purchases, or at least that is the impression I get from your videos. I can appreciate where you are coming from, but for most people looking for a pin, cost is a significant factor. What I'm getting vs what I'm paying is always a huge consideration for me.
@@mtlarsen1125 oh for sure and we will keep doing This Or That videos, as well as Top 10 lists. Some of the top 10’s we plan on doing soon is Top 10 Best-Bang-For-Buck and Top 10 best pinball machines under $4000
@@SDTM I think cost/value should enter into it as well. Doesnt need to be in the official scoring I guess, maybe a bonus category. Do a this or that video! I think opinions of this game would be a lot different if the price wasnt what it is.
@@SDTM sounds awesome! Please don't include Popeye in the under $4k list as I'm trying to sell one, right now 😂
Please do a pinball review on CGC Medieval Madness Remake Royal..
Great review. Looks and plays great, Needs crazy interactive toys.
JJP should combine Lawlor and meunier. Lawlor for ball flow and eric for theme creativity and toys.
I completely agree with this!!!!(greg)
While the game still looks great, to me it’s a Toy Story branded carnival themed game, and that’s where it fell short IMO.
That said, I’m not sure that I would’ve jumped at the current price points even if was more inline with the Toy Story story line.
With the Toy Story brand having such a wide reach as far as target audience, especially with Disney+ success over the last few years, it feels like a game that would’ve had more success/longevity from a financial perspective in smaller margins per game and more production, but obviously a ton of challenges in the current state of the world with manufacturing/supply chain, so easier to speculate for me then understanding JJPs reality.
Great review guys!
Great Review guys and enjoyed the rant about value at the end! For me the value needs to be compared within pinball and for me that's where I don't think this is a good value machine. I am looking forward to playing one soon though.
I completely agree. While I didn’t keep it at just pinball, I wanted to make the point about finding value in the fun and theme. That it just doesn’t have to be found in mechs and toys. I think there are a lot of pins that are loaded with those things that have no value because they are not fun. That’s why they take such a big price dive.(greg)
A lot of people agree and there’s no issue with it not being a good value for people. (Zach)
Hate to ask you guys because you have probably answered it before over the years, but do you have a link for the song you use? I absolutely love it. Did you have someone make it for you? Thanks as always for being so much fun!
Hey no prob. It’s called Straight Down The Middle by Damn The Luck.
@@SDTM Awesome! Thank you guys! Been listening for over a year now. My girlfriend and I plan to have a collection after we are married, have kids, etc. Split between getting Ghostbusters or TMNT first. I know they are both fantastic games, I'm just dying to have some of that sweet Zombie Yeti art in my house haha!
@@EvilDeadFan1995 hell yeah! I wish they would make an Evil Dead pinball machine.
@@SDTM That and Scooby Doo, totally agree with your video a few years back! I can imagine a big haunted house or castle kind of like Medieval Madness. A funny doors mode which would be perfect for the LCD. So many options!
@@EvilDeadFan1995 ooh good idea
Awesome to have you guys back! I enjoyed the review. I have to ask, who is the fat guy that came out of that door near the end?
Ahhh poor Jeffrey. That’s Greg’s brother. He’s a hoot and likely will be featured in a future episode. Y’all will love him
When is This or That coming back? Was by far my favorite series.
No review for Mandelorian?
Hope I get to flip it soon.. Allot of people say the exact same thing about Led Zep Pro.its "bare".. ..but it is a great shooting game and a blast to play... and Star Wars Pro is dead on as well being "bare" but fun to play. thats the best counter point to all the naysayers ...but it is allot more expensive than any of the pto models of those games..thats the sticking point i think for allot of folks.... cant wait to play it and judge for myself
That’s a good clear take to have.
Holy shit. Didn’t think y’all doin vids was a thing anymore
Empty games are fine if its fun to play. The problem is the low BOM and development time do not translate to the pricetag.
I’m not saying I agree with your take but the development time wasn’t short, which actually makes it worse given your feelings on it. I can’t speak to the BOM because I don’t know how it was compared to their other games.
For half of the video I thought Greg was going to pop a vain in his head. He looked so worked up. Take a day off and relax. LOL
Hahaha
I didn’t like TS4 because I felt like TS3 was the logical conclusion to the franchise. Andy left for college and Buzz and Woody remained together. TS4 killed the entire vibe of the first 3 movies.
Honest opinion from you all and anyone else who wants to comment. Do you see this holding it's value going forward. I see a lot of them on Pinside and you can still order them from JJP which tells me that they haven't sold well at least not yet.
I get the desire for more for visual assets but the voice acting was paid for. It translates to cost. That said, I found TS4 to be extremely enjoyable. Not too deep but also approachable for every age and skill level. This is a machine that would get kids into pinball and if you're playing at an arcade get some enjoyment out of the money spent.
I would love to see more this or that video’s and a Godzilla review revisited.
I was so wrong on GZ! We will most certainly come back to if!!!(Greg)
I really don't know how they could have done Toy Story 1-4 and include important things from each film. The long hiatus makes that a challenge too. To create the cohesive flow of story when there is an obvious lack of flow in the actual movies.
I would love to see a Toy Story machine based on 1-3
Toy story pinball is Sadley a huge disapointment :(
I wanted to have the next JJP since i have all the other JJP games. I buy them because they have so much more in the game than Stern has. But with this game they are going on the Stern route. With Godzilla Stern went the JJP route so i bought that game instead and i never have any reget. The next JJP The Godfather so i hope they do the right thing this time.
Yeah Godzilla is a damn near masterpiece.
Owning a pin makes it hard not to buy another then you tell yourself I will just keep it to only 3 and then you find yourself buying another. It just doesn't stop then you talk yourself into looking at it as an investment to justify the guilt.
Hahaha you have the same issue we do!
How much did JJP pay them for that fluff piece .. I love them trying to say this machine has value at 12k. lol .
It feels like they realized with the theme it could easily be a location game. It flips well but is way too much for what it is.
Is it worth the price of two Godzilla Pro machines though?
Is a Godzilla LE worth the price of two Godzilla pro machines? (Greg)
@@SDTM definitely not but this is not the TS CE version we are reviewing. It’s the base model. So the question really is, would you rather have 2 base model GZ’s or 1 TS LE? Or better yet, a GZ pro and Deadpool or JP pro. Just trying to justify the price tag.
@@kcaster1 no pin is comparable to a GZ pro. One of the greatest games ever made. If your going to do that comparison for what you get in a game vs price and rule out any other factor it better be the only pin sitting in your house! Other wise your over paying for everything
@@kcaster1 also please justify BM66SLE to me? A reskin
@@SDTM Ok, now you are making me feel a little bad for getting rid of my Godzilla Pro for a Deadpool Pro, BUT I did keep my Godzilla Premium(the absolute best machine out there). I just had too many Godzilla's lying around.
Please review mando
Good call
B+
No RUSH review guys ?
Man I want to do bad! Just waiting for Zach to get more time on it!!!(greg)
Awesome thx guys
Can we please get a Simpsons Pinball Party review? I’m gonna assume no
Most certainly a possibility! I owned one and had alot of time on it! (Greg)
Ladies love the bone.
That, they do (sigh)
Love this program but this review is so weird. Specifically the scores for toys/Innovation and theme seem to be greatly exaggerated. If you did this review anonymously, I don't think it would be the same.
I rated toys/innovation a C+. Are you saying that is exaggerated positively or negatively?
This is the first review that i really disagree with , even to the point that this feels like a paid promotion - which i know is not the case, but still... To give this bare machine a B on toys ??? Really ?? The talk of value should not be about the whole pinball industry , but about this wooden box with a lcd screen compared to some amazing pinball machines . To me this machine screams low effort and quick cash grab , and therefore i hope this machine will be an economic flop for JJP , just so they realize they cant ask 12k for a wooden box with some figurines on it - btw the exact same figurines that you can buy for 20 dollars online .
Did you not like playing it?
It... IS a paid promotion. How can you say this game has good toys? Good theme? Good rules?
Do you guys have 2 beds or do you just have 1 big one?
Thats an Image none of us needed... but definitely funny! Lol
Bunk beds
I just don't understand how you guys rate layouts anymore. How in the world is this game any higher than a B? Elwin Games set the bar and this thing is not even close. It's practically a fan layout with 4 pop bumpers (puke) and one gimp flipper to an unsatisfying bo peep shot.
Regardless, it’s undeniably a good shooter in our opinions
I really dislike the "cell phone" on the table. Instead of a cool toy, they put another video screen there instead. How uninspiring can you get?
jk
In an ironic twist, saying you’ll get more women listeners by removing your shirt made me stop listening.
I’m extremely sorry if that joke upset you in someway. The entire point of it was, I’m in no way attractive with my shirt off. It was more of a funny jab at myself because it would have the direct opposite effect! (Greg)
Really a toy story movie make on the 4TH movie....really why bother, no one cares about forky! and he's the prevalent voice and character in the game . I waited years for this game and now this.. they cheap out on the license again. and 12k at that.. Hard pass.. and It looks like stern has upped its game with AOTG, JP, EHOH . wow and these guy really no longer give an unbias review what a shame.
