You should consider doing an update to this review, as Pinside reviewers have claimed the code changes were the most comprehensive of any pin ever done, and have made an already very good pin into an incredible pin. SDTMs biggest knock was the code, and now from those Pinside reviews, the code is incredible. TBL license expires at the end of 2024, so giving DP the review the update now deserves would help a startup move some pins before it is discontinued. Everyone agrees that the quality is superb, producing such a strong initial offering, and supporting DP into the future is good for the industry.
After preordering this game in July 2014, I just received my "Achiever Edition" of The Big Lebowski from Dutch Pinball, and the wait (while far from desirable) was well worth it in the end! This game is already "F***kin' A" fantastic and, as you guys pointed out, will only get EVEN better when more code is released!
Agree. It’s so damn close to a near perfect pin. Needs more code and I would have loved to have seen one fairly difficult/satisfying shot in the layout
How could you not bring up Beetlejuice!!! That would be an epic multiball “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice” lots of comedy and one liners as well 😎
* National Lampoon Vacation (or Christmas vacation) would be a dream indeed! Comedy is really needed in pinball and it just fits well...this game proves it and Im buying one ;) * Home Alone would be great too. Other themes I would love to see: * Gremlins (a prequel is coming) * Thundercats (would trade it for my TMNT LE) * Jaws * And back to the future
Never played it but It looks very oldschool layout and rules wise. I've got the feeling Pinball evolved a lot since then (Deadpool, jurassic park, iron maiden, Pirates etc.) But do you punish it for being like some of the most loved Pinball machines of all time? And the awesome upper playfield makes up for not having a saucer or castle shot.
From what I saw and played of it at Pinball Expo 2016 and Texas Pinball Festival 2019, my only problems I got with it is code isn't that great, and reliability. Seeing it break down, getting worked on, turned off that many times sure wasn't a good sign, and all the drama on top of that turned Dad and me off from getting once even though we're big fans of the movie. Dad decided to get a Batman 66 instead. Glad Dutch is bouncing back finally making them. Hopefully they'll be rolling out those updates and it's more reliable. Looking forward to giving it another shot
Avengers,Jurassic parks, turtles and all that is cool but it is getting a bit.. I don't know boring maybe (I can't find the word ..) I can relate to the film and they seem to done that with the pin too. I find this pin more interesting than the pins I mentioned above. Anyways great review as always!
Wish I could play one. They had one on location in Grand Rapids but I don't think it was ever not out of order and unplugged. That's another bugbear with this right? If major shit starts breakin' down you're SOL.
That's why I decided ultimately not to purchase it. Parts and break downs. It's true the machine isnt all that reliable. It's a collectors paperweight. Is it worth the $15,000 pinsiders ask when selling it used...heck no. My thoughts, it will come down on the used market to the 8k range. Then the prive of the paperweight is made considerably cheaper.
@@SDTM The whole debacle with the orders. The lawsuits. People who got scammed out of thier money. The pinball crowd (as small as that may be) will never trust these guys ever again. At one point they had the world by the balls. (yeah pun) Then they let it all go to shit. Is that enough reasons for you?
Dutch Pinball is working to correct this. Still lots of other "Early Achievers" (preorderers) behind me and it took 6+ years, but I just got my game. That's more than you can say for most other pinball preorder debacles.
How was this theme for a pinball machine greenlighted? I'm not a hater of BL, but is there a big market out there from the movie? Maybe my dream of a Bioshock Infinite machine is still achievable. Maybe a licensed or generic Pandemic theme.
Unfortunately we were not allowed to illustrate the characters on the playfield. Hence the photoshopped images. JP
That’s what I figured. Regardless, the illustrated parts are a perfect style for me (Zach)
I agree with Zach! (Greg)
That's weak man.

finally got off and can watch some SDTM..makes for a great evening!
Woohoo eff you work!
Great to see a new review! SDTM does it like no other!
Thanks bud!

Did they finally release the complete code?
Excellent vid. Always so enjoyable.
Unbelievable field design, just flows together so well.
I like how the image on the LCD screen has that dot matrix look, it gives off a certain charm.
A lot of people agree with you and we can’t argue there. It does have a nice updated retro feel
@@SDTM Also I like how the LCD is more of a wide rectangle, unlike the new Sterns that have that more square look, which I don't care for.
Stripes would be a great pinball machine. Lots of great quotes in it.
That's a great theme man and it looks like it shoots pretty good too
Speaking from a graphic designers perspective, I love the art package. Solid A for sure.
FAST TIMES at RIDGEMOUNT HIGH!!!
thanks for review!
With software v1.0 released, time for a re-review on 'Rules & Code' (at 20:02)
www.dutchpinball.com/tbl/TBL-Pinball-Rules-Flowchart.pdf
I like how The Dude is on the Left and Walter is on the Right ...
Yup that is fitting
Hey - thanks for this labor of love. Really enjoyed this video. Subbed. 🤙
How could you not bring up Beetlejuice!!! That would be an epic multiball “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice” lots of comedy and one liners as well 😎
So true. Greg and I are huge fans of beetlejuice
They have one of these at Tilt in Minneapolis. Super fun to play. It's so floaty.
Played it at Golden State Pinball festival a couple yrs a go! Awesome game!
Beautiful pin.
Whew it’s a beaut for sure
Theme integration yes. Need this.

Love to see a predator pinball. Saw a story someone made 250 but then got sued.
great video, i have to get a few games on one of these :)

Good points. The only real worry is lack of code depth and code polish
Great review 😎 Big Lebowski rulz. speaking dream theme, how about a Blues Brothers pin
I’m not a giant fan but I could see that! (Greg)

When will they sell them again? Do you know?
Really wish pinball arcade or fx3 would make a digital version of this.
It’s a long shot. Very long. ⚪️
Does this score still stand, now that production has been upgraded? What about code updates….? Just curious, cuz I want one lol
What's with the sunnies on indoors? Eyes a bit sore?

I can see the argument. If only they could add more code, comparable to a Stern level of code
Is DP still making these? Bad idea to order one based on the history of several years wait?
It's 2021. Elvira HOH or This one? (I own Elvira HOH)
Wish I could play one. They had one on location in Grand Rapids but I don't think it was ever not out of order and unplugged. That's another bugbear with this right? If major shit starts breakin' down you're SOL.
You have to acknowledge the fact that buying something like this can result in a $12,000 paperweight that sits in your corner broken and mocks you.

'member the movie sequel? That was a thing that happened.
Didn’t see it
Speaking of comedy. Why do we love MM, ATF and DI -- comedy!!
Do you ever do pinball machine giveaways?
Shit I wish. We still have a hard time convincing these companies to allow us to do free marketing in our videos for them haha
@@SDTM damn Im never going to be able to afford one of these lol. Well they’re missing out on free marketing they gotta get with the times
How about a new mario or Zelda pinball?
Be kinda cool to get a solid Mario pin. Or maybe just a sick ass Nintendo pin that encompasses the major titles?
And one more thing form MM/BL comparison. There is a damsel ramp!
How much is a Big Lebowski in USD?
Approx 12-14k preowned
Trophy husband... even after that haircut!?
This haircut is a TRUE LE
Where is Step Brothers Pinball?
Can I get a shirt with the SDTM logo and a "Let's kick this shit" on it? Pretty please?
Seventh! Is that worth anything? ;D
Always!
JJP Beetlejuice.
I am really upset that this game is rare
This is the biggest swing and miss in the pinball industry.
Why so?

Walt Kosch oh yeah absolutely, we don’t disagree there. I thought you were referring to the machine which made me wonder how it was a swing and a miss
@@SDTM yes. The swing was the awesome game and theme. The miss was the execution of the same.

Not First!
You didn’t get it haha
I've seen this movie three times and I still couldn't tell you anything about it, for some reason it just never stuck with.
Coen brothers films have that effect. You don’t know why you’re watching but you watch them numerous times. Hidden genius in there
The comedy style of the movie is great, but your right the plot is a little different. Still great movie though.
Look at the mess you first guys are making all over the rug. Not cool man.
First.
You got it!
