Not gonna lie a few days ago I went out to use my whopper plopper near Winnepesaukee and I caught a pike before I caught a bass with it

Went pike fishing once up in Long Lake, Alaska, generously guided by the kind folks at Operation: Heal Our Patriots. In 4 hours, between my wife and I, we landed 52 fish. My arms felt like they were going to fall off the next day. Absolutely epic day of fishing that I'll never forget, and this video certainly brought back some memories! Appreciate the trip down memory lane. Great video!

Tip for catching pike: throw spinnerbaits, I swear when ever Iâm throwing a spinnerbait the chances of catching pike SKY ROCKET. At least in MN tho soooo idk about anywhere else

Lipless crank baits work very well too, but be careful because I was just fishing the other day with one, and I ended up with a hook through my finger and a large pike on the other hook flopping around

They're also actually excellent table fare as well! They have a bunch of small bones but if you don't mind picking thru they can be excellent eating!
Lots of ways to fillet them to be completely boneless, just learning to remove the y bones would be your toughest challenge

I've lived in maine my whole life, pike are always a fun catch, try Messalonskee lake in Belgrade its some of the best pike fishing around. If your intrested in fiding new spots let me know, plus I have 3 ponds stocked with bass.

I'm new so I don't know your span of videos of different kinds of fishing but fly fishing in the mountains always seems like heaven, to me, even if I've never had the chance to do it. And, of course, if you do a video of fishing for those gorgeous delicious trout, you have to end the video by cooking some up and enjoying that fantastic meal!

Lol right, I fish up north and northern pike is one of the more popular fish up here, and Iâve seen them jump like a 1ft or more out of the water
Was out in Zimmerman minnesota at a lake for father's day with my brother. Between the both of us we caught 14 northerns. We threw everything from Berkley power swimbaits to bullshad swimbaits,spinners,chatters,swim jig hell even the bobber came out with the Snell and Gulp and got smoked lol. They eat anything I swear. Now thus was all of a dock too. Was a great day.

My mans using tactical angler clips. Those things work miracles when it comes to changing lures out.
They are amazing, perfect for striper fishing too
Yeah down in southern Indiana thereâs not a striper to be seen. All we have is large mouth, catfish, blue gill, and Rackleyâs favorite the crappie.
They changed my life striper fishing. Catch rate went up 200 percent, lost lures went down 90 percent. Tie one really good knot instead of a dozen rushed ones.
So goofy? Pike love bass chatterbaits. I got a 40â pike in MN this year on a chatterbait with an 8 inch zoom lizard.

I find the biggest, brightest, craziest looking spinner bait seems to work the best. That, or just fish for bass, and they steal everything.

The secret Iâve learned is, always reel your lure all the way to your feet, the pike follow A LOT
Long pauses with a couple small twitches too will often get a strike, they love to follow and they are big reaction strikers, it's why I use poppers with a feather treble a lot, nothing beats deadbait or livebait for the big mamas though
@@Lilith-Rose white spinnerbait with a white 4" grub-tail will pull in 30"+ pike all day. And yes, they follow a LOT.

Should of jb welded it dude but in all reality itâs my favorite eating fish itâs really easy to clean if you know how and you get 5 fillets just highly recommended either soaking the whole fish in salt water over night and cutting the gills as soon as you catch it or soaking the meat after you filet it

You can squeeze the pike behind the gills around the body. That only works for smaller fish. Grabbing them by the gills works the best for bigger ones. Thanks for the video. Take care.
Hey Jon, In a few months when winter swings by, head over to north MN, in the Chisago Lake county, you should target Crappies. They bite like crazy on most days. Itâs fun fishing for slabs. They are most active at night too. Like so Jon seeâs
