sounds like youre living life man! From what I understand in the early spring they've put nets are the inflows of streams and rivers in some lakes to capture/kill the pike. A lot of lakes around me will have kill derbys for them as well during the open water and ice fishing season. I'm not sure if its going to completely fix the issue but im sure it helps to an extent

I did a research paper last year talking about the pikes in the Belgrade Lakes (basically one of the first places they were thought to be introduced in Maine,1970’s). Since then, there has been a drop in the shad, and a major drop in the number of pickerel. They span like rabbits though, so it is literally impossible to get them out of a lake once they are introduced.

The only thing we kill off commonly are common carp.

Find the deepest parts of the lake and after sunset, track them with your scope downwards. Once you spot a large pike drop down a long v-tail shad and keep it at least a meter above with minimal motion.

This is exactly why I love pike fishing. They will eat pretty much anything fish like!

Hey Jon I fish for pike on a daily up north here you need to be using shinier baits for pike on sunny days. But good choice on the spinner bait I catch 40in all day on the spinner my personal fav for pike.

I'm from over an Europe, Germany, and these mean green spite machines are basically my favorite thing to fish for. Got several over 42", fish a lot of those big ass Savage Gear inline baits (which I highly highly recommend!) and will finally my left forearm tatted with them on August 16th. Hyped.
PS.: In summer and into autumn the bigger ones especially like to go somewhat pelagic to follow schools of baitfish.
