Hey!! Thanks for the feedback, it always helps me to see things I overlooked. It is actually a mixture of the reference painting and a portrait from a photo, so I'm aware that the poses are not exactly the same ;) this nose-chin check is definitely something I can start applying in my studies/illustrations. Crazy enough this was my first ever digital painting.
Wow Yael, your first ever digital painting. I would have guessed otherwise. A bit more structure will definitely help you work the most right now. And if you ever want us to look at another one in the future I would love to take it up in this series, maybe even an before and after???
redrat here. Thanks for the feedback, although line variety, contrast etc. Are all topics which ton of videos and books have covered it for me, it was an insightful look at how would you approach "fixing" my artwork. I also agree with everything you've said and I think my current work is slowly approaching more fluid dynamic feel that I'm seeking to achieve!
Hey Redrat! Happy to hear you agree. Indeed line variety is a widely spoken topic. Honestly it was hard to 'fix' you artwork because your construction is pretty solid. If that's what you mean with fixing. For me the fault is not in correctness it's more in drawing what you see. It's kinda hard to explain her in a comment, but how would you take a reference image and go wild? Instead of following the rules you can do whatever you want. An example is this one: instagram.com/p/CbatGIXLrwq/ The style might not be 'you' but you get the point.
Great tips
🙏
I really enjoyed watching this! Really motivates me to improve and the artists you feed forwarded did AMAZING! The whole entire video incorporates both fun and easy to understand, really helpful & God bless! ^^
Hey! Wow thanks for sharing your experience. They did superb! Happy to hear it's an enjoyful video I'm planning to make more so if you'd like to like to get some feedforward yourself, just holla!
Hello Anubhav here I would like to thank you for giving me your feedback and i really appreciate it and i will follow your advice.
Hey Anubhav! Great to hear from you. Happy you appreciate it. And I think your illustration is amazing! So authentic, that’s special :)
Hey!! What do you think about these topics?
- Shading organic form/body parts (most tutorial are only on a simple ball/cube)
- Drawing/Shading cloth/fold with 3d form in mind
- Drawing fat tissue
- Anatomy in simplified forms.
I can barely find any tutorial on these topics so had to learn it by myself the hard way through still life, so I think if you can do these one it will attract a lot of beginner/intermediate learner.
Also I think this really go in hand with "simplified form" theme which I think is the appeal of your channel (for me at least)
Make it a course on gumroad is cool too!
Hey! Thanks for thinking along. I’m gonna save your ideas in my list of potential videos. Really helpfull
Any follower? or should you "sign up" for this?
The art in this video has already been done of course, but you can sign up for the third version (for the second one I've already got enough work) via the link in bio!
Man, you're one hella underated art teacher... Do you have a discord server? It'd be awesome to talk with people who's a fan of yours. And it'd be wholesome to share artworks and support eachother ad well.
Thank you! You're the second person who coins this idea, so it might actually not be such a bad idea. I'm gonna put you on my list of people that might help me with this, because I've got 0 idea on how to set something like that up.
@@thedrDraw omg it'd be such an honour to help
