Rozhovor Plus: Julyen Hamilton

I sometimes encounter the opinion that improvisation or improvisational techniques and stage work based on improvisation or instant composition are anachronistic, that they have been around for a long time, that they are nothing new and interesting. However, the Prague-based CreWCollective, the academic team around Mirka Eliášová and Michaela Raisová, or the activity of Roberta Legros Štěpánková and Tomáš Janypka in Brno convince us that this type of work is appealing, valuable, sophisticated, challenging, and not lacking in complexity for a certain part of dance and movement performers. The first and the third named also contributed to the idea and organisation of the Prague workshop led by Julyen Hamilton in early April this year.
