In FudgeMuppet's latest Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim video we take you through all the pirates of Tamriel.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.
The game's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The videogame is set two hundred years after the events of Oblivion, and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

I hope you get to be a pirate in Elder Scrolls VI. Imagine how cool it would be to sail the seas in an Elder Scrolls game, going from port to port, looting and pillaging towns with your crew. I think having a seafaring mechanic would really open up a whole new realm of possibilities for the franchise.

@@CafeHueyLong Exactly, they would just be throwing out even more established lore by doing so and thereby make Black Marsh a less interesting and mysterious place. The land itself is supposed to be toxic to non Argonians, they would either have to just flush that lore down the toilet or give the player some gimmicky magical protection and I honestly don't know which is worse.

Thanks, Michael, for yet another in the long line of superior quality videos from FudgeMuppet. I've been a fan of pirate history and lore since I first read "Treasure Island" as a young boy. The treasure room you showed a couple times during this video, Gyldenhul Barrow, is my favorite treasure hoard as it truly looks like what one expects to see in a treasure hoard; piles upon piles of gold, jewels and other valuables laying around EVERYWHERE just waiting to be taken. It's almost a shame to take anything as it looks so perfect as it is found. But, I find it's always best to loot first and ask questions later :) Please pardon the pun. It was as irresistible all that loot! Seriously though, The Deathbrand quest is one of my favorites as it is a true treasure hunt to search for real pirate treasure including the Deathbrand armor, the two unique scimitars and the most awesome looking treasure hoard in game! The Deathbrand treasure with around 6,000 septims just in the piles of coins alone is also quite welcome after having shelled out around 11, 000 septims just to dig up Ahzidal. I mean, Ahzidal's water walking boots are pretty cool but the rest of his armor is better suited to a conjuration battle mage than my usual light armored stealth archer. I truly hope there are even more treasure hoards like Gyldenhul Barrow in TESVI. Even the treasure of Velehk Sain pales in comparison to the treasure hoard of the notorious Haknir Deathbrand!

Technically the definition of pirate is sea going bandit or as wiki puts it, "Piracy is an act of robbery or criminal violence by ship or boat-borne attackers upon another ship or a coastal area, typically with the goal of stealing cargo and other valuable items or properties. Those who engage in acts of piracy are called pirates." I hope this answers the concerns you voiced in the video as to whether certain individuals were or were not pirates. I say, "Yes, they were all pirates, everyone mentioned in this video."

An Argonian warrior, deadric armor, no helmet but horns, the scaly tail matched well with this armor, I liked this character, not tall but not a friendly-looking guy ;)

I think the Dainty Sload just up the road from Solitude's dock in Skyrim is a pirate ship, although aside from having an Unusual Gem and being an source for scimitars, I don't think they do much.

They are only angry cause thieves are always after their booty...no not what your thinking. They don't go out to sea much these days...they just hang around their ships doing a lot of nothing. Only two I enjoyed killing was the pirate king under Winterhold and Deathbrand. I have yet to test ESO.

I hate how pirates are portrayed these days. They're seen as sailors looking for treasure, not bloodthirsty cutthroats that kill and plunder.

they were much more complicated than ''Kill and plunder'' though. they'd often show mercy if ships surrendered when they raised the black flag, had strict rules (some even sentenced rapists in their crew to have their hands cut off) were democracies, and were incredibly tactical when they attacked ships..

Made a really cool build. A sneak vampire that uses magic from stealth(applying sneak damage with spells). Uses the ice shiv spell from apocalypse magic mod and ordinator perk overhaul and sancrosanct. Uses illusion, light armor, destruction, and maybe a one handed weapon.
An Altmer Pirate would be a unique build. It could be a spellsword type build that uses Illusion and Destruction magic along with a Scimitar.

Hey love your videos please make a build focused around using bugs like the locusts spell from the king crusader armor mod or a build focused on using a pack of magical wolves or dogs and you are the leader of the pack.
Nice collection! Man, Oblvion had a lot of good quests.
The pirate attack on Wayrest is featured in the Dark Brotherhood Legends story-line; the king's daughter actually helps in overthrowing and murdering her father.
Another Legends pirate is Swims-through-storms, an old Argonian thief who tends to operate as a pirate from time to time (as her name implies).

Redguard was more of an adventure spin-off, so they easily could go back to that region

I wish Bethesda would re-release Oblivion with the graphics of Skyrim(meaning the characters).
Oblivion never worked properly for me, as I didn't know about patches and load order. But the ugliness of the people keeps me from reinstalling it.
I know I’m late, but there’s an Oblivion mod that does exactly that! Makes the faces more akin to what you would see in Skyrim. Just look up Oblivion Character Overhaul in the Nexus, and use a mod manager like Nexus! It’ll take a few steps, and it’s a big install, but it sounds worth it considering that’s Oblivion’s barrier of entry to you and others

Hope the Elder Scrolls 6 adds the sea elves, snow elves and Dwemer as races we can play even some Akavir races then maybe I won't be a Dunmer lol But this video is so amazing

Elder scrolls 6 should let you join multiple pirate builds with cool armor and weapons as you build your way up you can duel the pirate captain or a really detailed mission where were fighting our enemy pirates and he dies while playing the mission and then he lets you be the pirate captain or gives you a treasure map to the best pirate booty there is or something like that and maybe YOU CAN JOIN EVERY PIRATE GUILD SECRETLY AND THEN YOU CAN GET AND OPTIONAL MISSION WHERE YOU TELL EVERY PIRATE CAPTAIN THAT YOU HAVE HEARD TALK OF A VERY RARE AND SPECIAL TREASURE AND IN THE END YOU TAKE OVER THE PIRATE GUILDS WHERE YOU CAN GET A LOT OF COOL MISSIONS FOR STRONG TREASURE
I'm gonna be honest, I wasn't paying attention for a second and then all I heard was 'sneak onto a ship in a crate and kill Gaston' and my first thought was that stupid song from Beauty and the Beast...Now it's stuck in my head
Why not set Elder scrolls 6 in Hammerfell and make it heavily influenced by pirate theme? Then we could easily get some interesting locations and epic sea battles, for example portion of Black marsh as DLC... You know some hospitable part of Argonia and make it really scary, think of the possibilities!

How about a blind character?
Alteration, make him closer to the land and allow the character to live well. Some of the less useful spells can have role-playing reasons to use.
Enchanting, no one wants to use all their magic on useless spells even for role playing but that can be fixed through enchanting,
Weapon or destruction, enchanting can help with whichever. That said, whether it's a warrior turned blind or a mage who's been blind since birth or any other reason. There's many reasons I can think of many ways a character to turn blind.
Whatever else, the rest of the skills can pretty be whatever else within reason of course. I feel like alchemy would be a good fit for the build (though I wouldn't use it)
There's a lot of cool things you can do with this build.
Fudge, do you think that using an elder scroll to bring an extinct race forward in time there by saving them could ve viable for a decent plot in the future? Like imagine an acient kothringi magic thats extinct and needed for a quest line, you could use an elder scroll to save them from the plague that killed them. It could also be a way to introduce them in a lore friendly way as a new playable race.

Correction: privateering is state-sponsored piracy, so the redguard woman in fact did not "give up" her life of piracy, she just got sponsored to commit her piracy upon someone else.

Can you talk about Velehk Sain? He is a dremora with no human or mer origins and he just seems to be a rogue who loves pirating on the abecean sea.
IRL pirates usually dried up anywhere the local Naval power made an effort
You forgot to mention the crew of the Dainty Sload in the Skyrim section.
My current build is a Dark Elf warrior of House Redoran and the descendant of the Nerevarine (The hero of TES: Morrowind) He is adept at magical and martial skills, and his weapon of choice is an enchanted Bonemold sword named Redoran's Freedom.

Something that you might have missed is that there were a few known survivors of Wayrest's Dark Brotherhood being sacked by pirates - Garnag (orc) and Alisse (human, though I don't remember her race). They both fled. Also, the Empire hired an assassin to go and kill Red Bramman who was a khajiit and he did succeed. In the end, this fella was driven mad by an agent of Sheogorath. These are a part of side stories from TES Legends.

Crafty Lerisa's ship is actually called "The Maiden's Breath". Just so people know, you can/do go to Daggerfall lands anyway either by own choice, or by following the story. You get the quest "Cadwell's Silver" for Ebonheart players, and "Cadwell's Gold" for Aldmeri players. Speaking of the Dominion, shouldn't you put Captian Jimilla on this vid? Y'know cus', she leads "The Prowler" and privateers for the Dominion? Otherwise, Great vid. Loved it! :)

The Thieve's Den add-on for Oblivion when you fight Dugal, get the weapon and crew was that ever available with the PS3 version or was I just a 360 exclusive
Ps3 only ever got knights of the nine and shivering isles the house mods, razor and horse armor never came out in it

I can't imagine doing Breton mage pirate build!
Maybe if they make pirate theme next game,They should add "Crew" system. System that allowed you to have multiple follower. GIve them interaction each other more human and help you fight(Atleast,Pls make them smarter than the one on Skyrim that always get in the way,Geez.).
