    I take B-Complex, L-Methyl Folate, Zinc and L-Theanine. BUT they worked best once I lowered my sugar intake, quit Dairy and 90% Gluten from my diet. Your intolerances may be causing lots of your ADHD symptoms. Believe me!

    I have been recently trying to use supplements for my ADD. I find that Choline works really well in addition to all the vitamins you mentioned as well. I have also heard good things about L-tyrosine

    All of the B vitamins should be Mentholated as 40 - 60 % of people can not process the regular types. Minerals should also be of the Organic types for best absorption. Just a mention👍

    When I take supplements like these you told my anxiety increases a lot like panic attacks. I prefer exercise, very good diet with lots of omega-3 and proteins and salads. Also I added psychotherapist for additional boost.

      If you cud hv exercise, that is great. I hv problems with anxiety all my life. After trying many hundred of supplements, i am quite certain the anxiety is due to my guts and food sensitivity, esp wheats, cooking seed oils and sugar. Eating much more meats is the best.
      The supplements that works for me are :
      Lavender oils and flowers bud, just 1 tables sppon cud ease the anxiety within 15 minutes.
      Also high dosage of b1 b3 b5 b2, pharma gaba, pau d'arco + slippery elm, glycine + nac

    vit c tends to conflict if you are on stimulant medication (amphetamine class) I've read, but I'm not sure how much is good amount to take as high strength is not the way from what I've picked up on.

    Hi Dr. LeGrand, to what extend do you think supplementing these vitamins & minerals is safe without taking a prior blood screen? Especially Iron for male patients? Also, are any of these supplements known to interact with 5-htp, as this is also commonly recommended?

    • @ethimself5064
      @ethimself5064 Pƙed 2 lety +1

      Yes get an Iron test but not the test that measures Iron in the blood. There is a test that is called something like a Saturation test.

    • @doctorlegrand
      @doctorlegrand  Pƙed 2 lety +3

      Especially for Iron you should test for that before taking because not everyone has low levels of iron. Vitamins will not interact with 5-HTP but 5-HTP does interact with a lot of different ADHD medications so you should be careful with that and check with your doctor first before taking.
