I spent a lot of time cleaning the sound because the court feed had a crazy buzz on the microphone, so this became an audio work video over a react video..... most of that crazy buzz is now eliminated in this version and I've tried making it so the voices go through clearly. It was the court-feed that had issues with their microphone.

But from what I've seen most people just don't put in the work and aren't intelligent enough or introspective enough to make any progress. Id say I suffered with it throughout my 20's and taught myself DBT techniques as well as used magic mushrooms to proper introspection and I've pretty much changed to the point I'd say I no longer suffer with it. It's possible to recover but you have to be able to see things about yourself that you don't want to and work on them. It's truly a destructive mental illness and wrecks everything including the lives of everyone around you. I find it impossible to be friends with people that are diagnosed with it. They seem so nice at first until they turn you into the devil.

Dr. Curry is about as good of a witness that you can have. She speaks the truth and clarifies every silly question answered by Elaine. Thoughtful, confident, articulate, and precise...she makes the bumbling Elaine look she belongs in traffic court.

Golden rule of cross examination: Do not ask a question that you do not already know the answer to. AH's attorney asked a lot of questions she didn't know the answer to already, some of them outright stupid questions.

The psychologist made wrong statements. Trauma can cause BPD and women are disproportionately diagnosed with BPD as well. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She goes back and forth on being a clinical psychologist and a forensic psychologist. Which one is it?
Rule of thumb in law school - do not ask a question you are not 100% aware of the only truthful answer. I am an attorney and am embarrassed by this attorney.

she literally was just doing her job lmao. that's the job of a pschiatrist/psychologist. Anybody who works in a field involving working with mental stuff has to be very observant of their clients and know a lot about them or from what they learned about their clients through meeting and talking with them. They either have notes and notes about each person and their speculation based on evaluation as to what they may or may not have.
3:16 for example was dumb because the lawyer kept insinuating that amber "having BPD is a coincidence because she heard Depp mention it at one point and automatically came to that coincidence herself." That might've been one of the dumbest things I've ever heard to someone who works in that field. She's probably come across multiple people with BPD during her TEN to FIFTEEN YEARS in the field. SHE'S GONNA KNOW WHEN SOMEONE HAS IT OR NOT
This is how you conduct yourself as a witness. Professional, prepared, calm, answering only what is asked and not giving an iota more. She made Heard's legal team look like fools and Heard's psychologist look incompetent.

Her attorney thinks being rude to a witness scores her points, when NO jury ever gives points for rudeness or a slick mouth (@ 10:17). They're about as competent as their client, which doesn't leave much.

If she can manage to cast doubt on the professional nature of the relationship between Dr. Curry and Johnny Depp, naturally her evaluation of Amber will be questionable. It's all just a way to undermine her competency.

1 - Coincidence of intial doubts with professional examination. Pshchological evaluations (or any scientific/technological eval) is based upon the observation and translation of it with using past cases as a reference if needed. Compare her testimony to the one from Amber’s team and the difference is stark.
2 - During an interview, dinner and drinks were served. The latter were not a prime objective for the meeting. Sure it’s sketchy, I thought of it too. But compared to other arguments, this seems quite trivial.
Should have said each time...no, you're wrong.... and no you're wrong again. Incorrect seems too lenient a word in this situation.
The lawyer was playing fast and loose with the facts trying to paint a negative picture of how she was hired by the plaintiff (JD’s team). I LOVE how she corrected AH’s team so succinctly EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Priceless!

It also made it more clear that AH’s attorney was trying to twist the situation to be something it wasn’t. She did well in showing how AH’s team was trying to make things look bad despite their legitimacy, thus showing that AH’s team wasn’t as trustworthy.

@@anfisa1060 Iirc, Board Certification is more for specific specialties of MDs and that sort of thing, like a Neurologist or a Gastroenterologist. I don't know if psychs have specific specializations like that.
She testified she was licensed. That means she's a psychologist and can practice in the state in which she is licensed. She's passed a board exam and has the education to back it up. Board certification is a voluntary process, and may not be relevant in her case as a forensic psych.

I watched this interview live, and I remember being extremely impressed with her obvious honesty, integrity, and directness. I also remember thinking at the time what a seriously crap lawyer Elaine is. This time through I'm noticing Johnny's lawyers smiling, smirking, shaking their heads in disbelief as the stupid woman layer makes an absolute hash of it. How the witness maintained her cool in the face of the ,lying and intimidation by Elaine I really don't know. I am incensed on her behalf. I honestly think that makes sense. Most lawyers would not have agreed to take her case, so she didn't exactly have the pick of the litter. In addition, she's defending a client who likely fed her lies, so of course she's looking like an idiot now. A lot of what she's doing are psych tactics to manipulate a judge or jury through repetition in other clips, and also trying to trip up the witness to accidentally misspeak to try to clarify or out of frustration. It works at times. In this case, witnesses seem to be very sure of their testimony so it's adding to how stupid she looks. This lawyer should never have taken the case
Unfortunately that’s the last thing she’s going to do. Her reputation is being utterly destroyed so she’s gonna bring everybody down with her if she can, there’s no other option for her now.

This highlighted the difference between Amber and Johnny's expert witnesses, in that Johnny's witnesses like this lady were far superior to Amber's witnesses, who were near clowns. Johnny's expert witnesses were all very professional and very intelligent and expressive.
To set the story straight - I would LOVE to eat this witness's muffins more than I could ever express! Tell her husband to please take a walk, a 5 day walk! Please...
She's a great example of why it's worth learning about basic psychology and becoming scientifically literate. She completely outclasses the lawyer's patronising attempts to spin the truth in a calm and objective composure; exactly what the world needs more of.

To be honest her JOB is to interpret language so it goes without saying that she is good parsing what other is trying to say. But yeah she was really professional and consise.
the fact this lawyer doesn't let her explain herself, clearly shows she is trying to work her to agree or work with her accusation, (this psychologist is a very intelligent women for not falling into her traps of word play and I'm happy to see how well she held her end). this lawyer is playing scrabble and asking questions that "for say" quotes what she said, and words it in a way to paint a bad picture that favors Ms. Heard's side. Grade A manipulation and subterfuge.
I totally get where you're coming from, and it is frustrating to watch, but as far as I'm aware that is her job. She's trying use the witness testimony towards her case or, failing that, prove the witness not credible. If I'm not mistaken, the prosecution can discern the meanings of what the psychologist was saying on redirect.
That's not saying that the defense ISN'T grasping at straws here, because she totally is, hence the muffins.
Either way, an EXPERT witness testimony on the psychologists end. :)
