It pisses me off that in fallout 76 they tried to explain the mannequins away by saying people put them there in memory of the people who died during the bombs. I think them coming alive in some way is better, they could have done something cool with it.
I absolutely hate this because I have a phobia of mannequins, dolls, and statues. I forgot what it's actually called, but those fuckers are terrifying. I absolutely hate it that there are so fucking many of them in goddamn horrifying positions in Fallout. And dont even het me started on when I first encountered the "Living Mannequin" bug in skyrim. I accidently yeeted my controller into my ceiling fan in sheer terror and panic.
Those gnomes are evil little bastards lol, it's to me that far harbor had dozens of ships before we arrived there lol
Mannequins are an DR Who enemy easter egg, Autons, First appearance in Spearhead from space in 1970.

Considering there's a corpse nearby, I can only assume some light fingered fellow was hiding out there after liberating a cash machine from it's place of business; perhaps a hotel employee or some other Local making the most of the panic caused by the Bombs or some poor unfortunate burglar hiding out under the name "Smith, J"...
Or they were just opening and hadn't had any customers yet
A better question is why do all these pre war safes have caps in them?

yeah, i'm not sure that Franny does work for the Chinese - i've just redone Far Harbor and i was thinking about this, why would the Chinese want the key? the missiles aren't being fired and what would they do with the key anyway - launch at themselves? the thing is that Fallout 4 says that the President and senior government members have already gone to the rig but the armed forces just seem surprised when the Chinese supposedly launch. along with the fact that the news broadcast at the beginning only mentions Eastern Seaboard areas - surely the West Coast would be hit first? anyhoo, my point was that Franny could be working for any one of several third parties - hell, even the Dunwich Company is sus.

Most likely, Frannie was sent by the US Navy to recover their submarine’s launch key. If they can’t launch a preemptive strike, they’re sure as hell going to launch a retaliatory strike.
Maybe they launched from both sides of the country to hit both sides of the US
Angela Clay nuclear launch sequences have a lot of checks in them, including multiple verifications of target coordinates by different officers. Had the Chinese attempted to trick the submarine into launching against California for example, some officer or chief would have caught that discrepancy. Also, the key had to be physically inserted to give final launch authorization. There is no way a Chinese agent would have slipped past the extremely tight security around a missile submarine, inserted the key and successfully launched at a US target. Most likely, that launch key would have been given to the XO, who would’ve assumed command and launched.
Its possible the chinese simply wanted it to deny it to the US, such as if they destroyed the key. I realize that that is a weak explanation, but it would still be saving countless Chinese lives even if only those nukes on the sub were prevented. Or perhaps to try to tinker with the key? Again, unlikely, but if the Chinese could decode the key(is that even how they work???) Then they might find a flaw in the us launch system to exploit. Perhaps at a certain stage, the missle has to be launched within × amount of time, or the launch would fail or overload or something. That way they could find a way to hack into the system to trigger that and make the us blow itself up.
Neither of those make much sense but I'm basically throwing stuff at a wall to see if it sticks because I'm just as confused.

I have a question about another topic: I'm not sure if you already mentioned it, but I'm curious: How did all those supermutants come to far harbor? I mean, those in the commonwealth were created by the Institute, but would supermutants really be intelligent enough to use a boat driving over to the island? Or are there any evidences, that the Institute would somehow drop them off on the island?

Hey Ox, I've been a big fan of yours for a long time and I've even translated one of your videos (hasn't been approved yet :/). Since I don't like the sound of complete silence, I play your lore playlists every night before sleeping, mostly New Vegas since there's mostly story and not a lot of combat to wake me up in the middle of the night, combined with your soothing voice, it makes my nights easier. All I wanted to say is thank you and keep up with the good work.

When I watched this video after getting the Key for guidance:
"Well, I guess I know what ending I'm picking!"
I'll forever miss that Key, but at least I got to witness a helluva light show.
I missed all those gnomes. I have to go back there. I got the launch key, but I went along the shore so I missed the raider den. I also missed some goodies out in the water.

The Gnomes didn't start the fire. It was always burning since the world's been turning.
I had to stop the video and rewind because I was laughing way too hard at garden gnomes with frag grenades. I was so intensely listening while doing some mundane chores and had to stop everything I was doing I laughed so hard at the reveal to that mystery. Fallout takes itself just the right amount of seriously. ❤

At around 9:50 Oxhorn looks at the hotel bill, and I think wrongly conclude the Captain had access to more funds then he probably did. The nukes fell on that day, more then likely what Ox is seeing at some point in the 200 years it taken him to get to the hotel. The automated billing cycle most likely just kept adding another day to the bill each day the guest did not check till it hit the error. Still even trying to account for Fallout 4 they stay is $10,000 night which is still a lot of money for military Captain.

Tbh ive never got into the idea of using power armor. Although Oxhorn did get me to start investing perks into my luck stat for extra ammo and scrap

In my game there are fresh blood sprayed all over the floor and the bed around Wabash and Franny' skeletons (but not on them), I'm on PS4, not sure if it's a glitch or something. Also there are mountains of trader/settlers' corpse down the cliff near the drain pipe.

The Grand hotel was about as grand as a Best western in Panama Beach FL. Big pool the the suites were a little to small and they looked ti be only about 30-40 rooms even with the areas blacked off
The hotel bill is pretty reasonable.
It is adjusted for inflation up until 2077.

Bethesda should hire oxhorn to be a narrator or product announcer, or someone to help with the announcement and or speaker for lore of Fallout.

You always do very good intros and tells the story in a very interesting way. I've noticed something is weird in the security room in this hotel. There are bottle caps, but it has been locked since the bombs dropped (Dima has visited this place for sure, but I don't see why he would have put them in it). Did the americans used bottle caps as a currency before the bombs dropped ?

Captain Wabash used to think that being a good soldier just meant following orders. No. He did what was right, in his eyes
Oxhorn I don't think Wabash was mortally wounded, during the hollow type you can hear that Franny handcuffs him, that's why one hand is back on the headboard of the bed
This leaves us with more choices then Fallout New Vegas after we confronted Benny. Guessing he makes one choice and runs with it, then another, then another (and so on)?
Yeah the fight at the hotel was a fun fight.
