I really like these videos. I have seen so many this tire vs that tire video where they have them on different vehicles or different wheels. This is a real straight forward comparison.
I had my eye on the Predators, then I switched to the G8 based on the description (I mostly run in warmer weather but also take it out in the cold), and this video pushed me back to the Predators. Can't argue with that amount of squish, here in the northeast it's lots of rocks and not much loose stuff so they will be perfect.
Also a small detail but I really like how you keep the label on screen the entire run (G8/Predator) - makes it really easy to see what you're running at any point.

I'm happy with the fact that the element grabbers are actually a reasonable tyre it's time for me to get some more and do the block removal to see what improvement there is .
Your testing has saved me a fortune in tyre's when I ask on different groups you get loads of different recommendations but none of them are backed up with Evidence like yours .
I'm looking forward to your re visit to some of these tyres when they've worn in .

I watch your channel all the time. Really Loveing these tire tests. Hope to see more of them. It Would be really cool to see you do series. A series where the winning tire goes to the next round against a different tire. Eventually crowning the king of tires.

@@ExocagedRC yes this is very true. You make awesome videos and showcase awesome products. I just bought the voodoo klr/m. Only reason is because of what I seen you do with them. The company's should really send you there best tires for this. I bet you would sell a bunch for them.

i personally like the G8 tires in the hyrax treads. probably one of the best well rounded tire for most situations and they seem to have a better life span
Awesome! Since I like crawling more than trailing... maybe a set of these in Predator on my Capra will be the tire over the KLR/M.

Great comparison as usual. I run both compounds as well. The Predator can rip if you beat on them to much as I have. The G8 are probabaly a longer lasting trail tire or "daily driver". G8 little better at higher speed which I know isn't very relevant.

I always really like such tire tests and comparisons - but.....in "real" life no one drives on a wooden board. But the rest of the test is really great !!!

great video pal , more should do tire testing , love your rock lay out as well i really need to do something like that , ide love to see the boom racing hustlers tested like this , i bought them and to be honest im not over impressed but the rubber on them is very sticky ???
so im wondering is there too much sponge in the tire ?? if this is correct it is very poor on boom racing as the tires should of been tested vigorously before retail but i also think it could be that the lugs in the tread move around too easily ??

lot of people don't understand crawling. think its boring... its not, if your average race is a game of soccer with tons of speed and action, crawling is a game of chess where you need to be deliberate and think down the road several moves before you point your tire and press the go pedal. truly a technical endeavor. yeah you can have a great rig and a great set of tires, but you still have to have the skills to put them in the right place at the right time with the right touch. its like surgery.
I would be interested to see the same test but with dual stage foams and a 10 pound truck.
Awesome video would be cool to see a test vs the predator krawlers or hyrax vs voodoo klr/m or the og klr vs a set of pitbull rock beast xl if you have them as well keep up the amazing video
Devin Hoepner I’ll do the crawler vs KLR thing soon. I have the rock beasts but they are horrible and have never won a test on anything.

Have you tested the RC4WD Genius Sem Fronteira 2.2 Scale Tire? I’m interested in running those on my stretched axial capra, just not wanting to drop money into a tire I can’t use for rock crawling.
I wonder if the foams are the same inside or if something would change if you swapped them.
Joe. Another great tire test. With that rear axle steering, I assume your tail is several ounces heavier than a typical 2WS Capra. Your 4WS is a full pound heavier than my unit. So, it appears that 2-stage foams are in order.
Bill Deras yeah it does add a bit to the rear. Still don’t have any brass to balance it either. Doesn’t really seam to affect it when on the rocks in front steer only.

Bill Deras I could get the balances of it. I honestly don’t know but it has a little bit of front bias. Just guessing I’d give it 55/45 as it sits now, that’s only because of the battery placement.
Hey Exo, I was just wondering how you got the proline beads to fit regular beadlocks, did you mod the ring or just calmped it down as is?

I own both G8 and predator in this KX Tire the Predator compound is awesome but after running for a few months the tire is pretty stretched out I've never had a tire do that before I'm using RC four-wheel-drive stamp Steel wheels withdrawal renovation 4.75 little Nova's
so they stretched? Similar to what the Deepwoods do?
Crap i just bought some proline bfgoodrich km3’s in the predator compound but it hits at least 40 degress Celsius on the rocks🥵. I will see how the squishiness and tread wear go at those temps
How do you go about venting?

How do these compare to the klr/m that you had on the rig?
are these wheels those Injora wheels? If so are they any good. i see u use them alot. are the aluminum or plastic?
They could be the same thing. I haven’t broken a single one and I use them because I test a lot, they are super cheap and they usually fit any tire I put them in.
Basically these tires are a buy in predator compound. I think I found my next tire
It seems the hyrax with G8 compound coudn't handle wet conditions. Do these krawler tires perform with water on top?
so far the Krawlers have done every thing great
The predators will always be better than the G8 under the same temperature...
The idea is you get the G8s for hot climates which will allow them to flex more once they heat up, The predators are great for mid to cold climates were the G8 starts to harden up.
Yet you missed an opportunity to test sidewall flex.. The Predators are really bad on this on a heavy rig without 2 stage foeams.. Thats were the G8 outperform them.

Andy Hernandez I can do that but they both will fail with the soft foams they come with. Vehicle weight would be the major determining factor on that. I could do the Superlite VS the Capra on that? 4.5lbs vs 6.5lbs. Would that work? I’ll see if I can get some 2-stage foams for a test like that.
How much weight do you run in your trail truck tires?
Whatever the wheels are. I never add weight to them and some just weigh more than others
What your opinion on running G8 on the rear and predators on the front?
I’ve never tried it but for climbing in warm/hot temps I’d think it would do well
I’m debating on a few different shock options right now. The ottsix shocks are in the running amongst trx4, new proline big bores. How do you like 90mm ottsix shocks?
So far they’ve been really good. No leaks yet either.

What wheels are those? Looking for some good all aluminum wheels for my capra that clear the portals that don't break the wallet.
Idaho RC guy these barely clear, I did a video on clearancing the portal tops so they fit.
