    ...so this is your favorite tire (setup) for this tipe of terrain, and for this particular rig! And that's that.
    I understand the controversy over this, but people are forgetting this important detail. For ECTO (as it is), Trenchers (as they are) work best.
    We can all digress and talk about inserts and rubber compounds, tread design...the lot. We could all agree on the (un)fairness of this test, because there were variables that weren't accounted for. But this was not a test to see what was the best tire on the market. This was just to see what worked best for this particular rig on these particular obstacles and this specific terrain.
    And that's that!
    Cheers mate
    Keep it up

    I’m glad you specified that the trenchers do well on your rocks. They do well on granite boulders too, but wherever there’s dirt they aren’t that great. One course I run is all granite boulders so I want to get a set, but my rig is closer to 7lbs so I’m tempted to get predator compound and 4.5 CI comp cut softs

    Gotta go with what works for your terrain. In some conditions, a wide variety of tires can deliver pretty comparable performance, but there can be a certain set of conditions where the differences can be profound. For example, I've found Super Swamper TSL SX and BFG KM3 to work pretty comparably all around. Sure, some differences here and there, but nothing too dramatic. However, in snow, it was not even close. The TSL SX was very poor, but the KM3 pulled through.

    I am surprised that they are good as a crawler I use these on my 5th scale gas they work well on my two wheel drive HPI Baja 5SC & 5B I believe they are in Pro-Line's XTR compound I believe they are one of the few tyres they manufacturer for the largescale world apart from a couple of race orientated models similar treads to the 1/10th & 1/8th race tyres but not as many compound options.
    I have tried them on the 4x4 gas trucks but they don't like the extra weight of them so never tried them on my 4x4 buggies as they work best on the HPI Baja's.

    Not to criticize, but. It doesn't seam to be an even test when u have variables like wheel weight to account for as well as difrent inserts. Just seams like one setup versus another on one type of landscape. Doesn't really help me with really choosing one tire vs another. Thanks

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  Před 3 lety

      You have to remember, some of these tests I do are for me to see what works best for my own area. I saw that the added weight helped, but the Krawler Predator compound wasn’t a big deal over the G8 trenchers. So I’m staying with the trenchers on the Ecto.

    There’s a tire I’d like you to try, I run them on my comp rig. No one else runs them but they work really well and you wouldn’t suspect them to be as good as they are. They’re Gmade MT-1904, I want to see them on your terrain. They’ll do great. They also only run about $20 a pair

    I know it's a lot of time , and effort to really do an equal test. And u may have intentionally made the video the way u did. But as a test, I'd like to see all the comparables the same. IE, wheels inserts , wheels etc. With all the difrences u are running. It's hard to know what item is creating or losing an advantage that may show up, if any..
