Fixed expenses, grocery & household spending, quarterly bills, yearly bills. Maintain Savings and emergency funds. Retirement funds. No credit card debt, pay off your cards in full if using them. This is just the simple plan we use.
❤️
Sounds like there are two of you. So I think it is safe to say if there are two incomes fixed cost should be cheaper.
Simple doesn't always mean easy
First rate presentation. I’m tracking all spending and saving about 800$ a month. It’s fun to be frugal.
Yes, I plan. Spent a few minutes every day. I've already booked and paid $800 towards a vacation in April 2024. And I know what vacation I want to take in 2025.
One advise from financial advisor in my country. When you get a paycheck, transfer evwrything in your savings account. Then just transfer enough money to your regular bank account to pay the bills and cover monthly expenses. Oh 8% of the paycheck you are allowed to spend for fun, any stupid thing and husband can spend his 8% without judging one another.
I'm cooking lentils & eggplant soup for 2 lunches and rest in the freezer for next week.
I plan my expenses on my memo pad. Spend every morning reviewing and double-check. Check my banking every day like clock work.
At work; we were short staffed so I worked 6 days a week, I had no trouble getting by with what I was bringing home, but once we were fully staffed I lost the 8 hrs of overtime. Now I can’t buy groceries without putting myself in the hole. I have cut spending every where to squeeze $80 out for groceries and I still end up in the hole.
I start a new part time job in two weeks where I will work 6 to 8 hours hopefully it will help.
You are making moves to get where you need to be. Keep it up. It will all work out, and the determination will be worth it. I know you can do it. Hugs 🤗
Great job! Let’s making saving and minimal spending normalized!!
Yes!
That is why i paid cash for my car. Not having to make a payment every month is terrible.😊😊
Just paid rent today and i hit $0, hoping for extra income this new month.
Paid my entire vacation cash, start a year ahead budget monthly.
A few years ago, I did quite a few off the books money - babysitting, accounting & organizing. I did my travel tea parties. I even moved in with a family and paid for my housing by babysitting and cooking. It also helped me pay my debts and helped me save.
Great job!
What are travel tea parties?

Problem 9 hit me so hard... I knew the basics... but this was major. Thank you for opening my eyes.
Very helpful- Thank you so much Jennifer♥
thank you ❤
This is so true, i'm almost 61 and lived almost my hole adult life in debt. I'n our family it was "normal" The last few years where debtfree and working hard to stay debtfree and having a healty financiël safetynet so we can helpout someone in need without falling back into debt. Wish we saw "the light"😂 earlier in life, it would have safed us a lot off sleepless nights😉
Try not to regret the past because now you have experience knowing the difference. It feels amazing being debt free! 🤗
@@THEJENNIFERCOOK i don't regret a thing, my first husband dyed 20 years ago...we made some awsam memories with that money😘
Your stuff is different than everyone else's! Thank you for putting so much thought into it

Possible way to get a second income is if you commute into a city, sign up with Uber/Lyft and pick up people headed in your direction to cut commute/parking costs. Or if you live near a Amazon hub sign up to drop off a few packages that are on your way home. Hope this helps someone.
Good tips
EXCELLENT VIDEO ‼️

Sometimes life just deals you some rotten eggs. 🤷 You cannot control if before your first check at the fancy great job sees your child in 2 emergency rooms and a week in the hospital followed by hundreds of extra dollars spent monthly to keep them alive.... Money that could have been a change but it's not now. and there are a million other scenarios.
Yeah and what about those who are under employed for their expenses. I used to live with 3 other and between the 3 of them I was the only one that "made enough."
Set my budget based on expenses. Make sure income more than budget. Everything above the baseline into savings and sinking funds. Raisex just mean I save more.
I've been doing the money envelopes since 2020....which helped alot. I write on the envelope what it's for and how much goes in weekly. Life style creep can still be an issue....I have started an ebay store to get rid of extra stuff and have sold a few things. Also went back to eating more potatoes and eggs, than meat based things. If I see flat bread pizzas on sale that are about to go bad, I buy them all and freeze them. Then take them out 1 at a time, which will cover 2 meals because I cut them in half and cook them in a toaster oven. My debt went way down since 2020. Now I have a house payment because I had a tiny house built so my debt literally looks the same as it was precovid. But instead of owing $74,000 in CC debt, I owe maybe $32,000 in CCs, and $33,000 on my tiny house. So my debt load is better and half as much on the revolving side as it was in 2020. No car payment. I am paying a disaster loan back my business got after the shutdown, which I wouldn't take out if I had it to do over. But in 2020, I had to take it to prevent bankruptcy. That disaster loan literally does feel like I'm robbing my future self. But it has allowed me to right alot of things that were tipsy 3 yrs ago.
Hi!! You were actually talking about me when you mention point number 10!!! I want it sooo much but i have afew coffee in the fancy shop and then get food out and think i will start next month 😮...this cant go on I dont wsnt to me 'stuck' like this anymore!!! Time to get organised 🎉
You can do this! Step one is identifying the change you want to make. Now you can put it into action! 🤗
I’m interested in learning more about your organization tips
Just found your channel, really enjoying your content.
Thank you so much!
I would always welcome more information on how to budget; specifically if we aren't in debt (other than our mortgage), and we pay off our CC's every month, but we don't save anything. So many videos talk about being in debt, but no one addresses this type of situation when you aren't really in debt, but you aren't saving either. Just evening out. Thanks!
Thank you, Laura! I will work on a video to discuss saving and the next steps.
You just have to make a decision to save. Period! It seems just that simple but it actually is. We make money way more complicated than it is.
Just like you decided to get out of debt 💸 and did it
Just do it when it comes to saving.
By the way, once you are debt free you should have more money to save. If you don’t you’re doing something wrong.
Maybe overspending in an area that you aren’t considering. Don’t put you finances on auto pilot. You be the pilot that directs the plane.
It’s my opinion but I hope that helps.
Believe it or not using those credit cards doesn’t help. Paying them off monthly isn’t the best thing, not using is best. Trust me, you are spending more money using credit.
Why oh why do we think we deserve something? Do we really deserve something? What did we do to cause us to deserve something over someone else? This drives me crazy, thank you for mentioning it.❤
Your voice is so soothing! You’re like the sister I need that tells me to get my sh*t together in a loving way, lol
Aww... thank you so much! 🤗
Good video

I’m glad you mentioned the flea story. It makes a lot of sense to me. We are limiting ourselves. We don’t think we can save much money when in fact we are able to. We just don’t believe that we can do it!
Exactly! I am glad the flea story helped 🤗

Jennifer your skin is amazing. What skin care products do you use and what is your skin care routine like?
Hi Amy, thank you so much! For about 5 years I have been using the same two items. I use Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash and Cerave Skin Renewing Night Cream. It wasn't until I simplified my routine that my skin cleared up. I also drink a lot of water.
I also have to use oil free products. I like Image products and have been so good with my fave routine - morning and night. I do, however have large pores genetically. You have beautiful skin, it glows. It’s great that you’ve found a nice simple routine that works for you. Thank you for sharing and answering. Great video also 🤗
* face routine not fave routine 😊

I've always saved money for bills. In fact i have a separate bank account just for bills and i save the same amount from every paycheck.

My “excuse” is because I’m stuck at a dead end job and need a better paying job. I’ve worked for this same call center for going on 6 years since late 2018 and I only make $11.50 per hour and get paid every 2 weeks and now they’ve cut my hours down to 21 hours per week. Who can live on that income?
This is a really good video. Really good video.
Great video, practical information that is relevant and relatable.
Yes, please do one about organizing that would be great. You keep not notifying on your new ones on my CZcams for some reason. I just love listening to you and your advice. It’s so good thank you.
