Used to maintain a 40x80 pool in a condo complex and the only thing we ever did was clean the filters and made sure the chlorine level was proper. We never, ever paid any attention to the PH level or anything else for that matter. Pool was always crystal clear and was simple to take care of. Don't over think it !
    Thumbs up, great job.

It was so exciting when we started filling the pool up with water. It took a while for the pool to warm up as people didn’t have pool heaters in the 60’s. Thanks for sharing this. To quickly vacuum debris from the bottom -
Have the children run 20 laps, in the water, around the outer edge. The circular movement of the water will move all the bottom debris to the center.

We have a 15' x 48" Intex here in Phx AZ. It is the 4th one in 8 years. We leave it up year round so the sun disintegrates them after 2 - 3 years. This iteration, just installed this spring or Intex v. 4.0 as I like to call it, has all the knowledge gleaned from 8 years of trial and error. It also has the sand filter but is plumbed with PVC. The sun rots the cheap plastic flex hoses after just one season. All the tubing and fittings were available at the local Home Depot. A LED 'water fan' fountain was added to facilitate pushing the surface water towards the also added skimmer. A Zodiak Barracuda auto sweeper vac WITH the hoses and prefilter was purchased used from Facebook Marketplace for $15!! They run $175 new. It didn't work of course, the problem being the only 'moving' part: the diaphragm and easily replaced. A pack of 2 from Amazon for $12 and it was up and running. My stepson or I had to hand vacuum that thing every week last year. None of us has had to lift a finger this year!! Our pool stays crystal clear with just minimal maintenance and chemicals. My wife says I should do a video, who knows? Maybe I will! lol

Crystal clear water and almost no chlorine when tested. The filter, sand and salt cost me about $450 to get running but I no longer buy more than 2 gallons of shock to get the pool started at the beginning of the season and a can of bicarbonate to balance the acid rain ph.

You could connect 50'-100' of black water pipe to the pump, leave it coiled, but speed out a bit, and put it in between some clear plastic, lay it in the sun, it will slowly heat the water, also clear plastic over the pool, with a piece of black plastic floating on the water, can heat it also, putting a couple gallons of water on the clear plastic to focus the sun could help also, the black plastic pipe is what I will probably use on my next pool, the clear plastic around will trap more heat , great video,

You sure have a pretty little helper. And a furry one too. Lol. We have a pool like yours. Sadly it’s never been taken out of the box. For ten years we had an intex pool a and it was awesome! But we moved. The first winter I ordered a new pool for our new home but life happens. We are closer than ever to getting it up. And with the temperature in Tennessee in the three digits we need a place to cool off. Hopefully my husband can get off work a few days and we can get our land prepared. We need a small retaining wall. It’s ok we had to build a huge retaining wall at our old house. We never took our pool down in the winter Just lowered the water below the hoses and covered it. In the spring we would shock it and add water but really we got most of the older water out during the refill. I see your kids are having a blast. We enjoyed setting it up too. Have fun. Leslye

I have the 26 ft pool and the same fittings. I changed all of my fittings to the 1 1/2 inch where I added the shutoff valves and the pump hoses screw right up to them.

I have the same pool for 7 years I even lower the water level to below the intake holes and leave it up all winter and I am from ottawa Canada were it's cold and lots of snow.

I'm in Indiana and do the same... the winterizing kit and the racheted cable around the edge to keep the cover down are excellent... if I open the pool when it's still in the 60's the water is crystal when I take the cover off.. provided I don't slip and dump dirty water in the pool from the cover... argghh.. which happened this year.. tsk...

You leave it up for the winter, I thought you couldn’t do that with these pools.
I’ve had one for 13 years. We take it done every fall and put back up in May. I get pool water delivered every year because we have a well. The pool guy said my pool only looked 2 to 3 years old. Still mint condition. I’d love to get a new liner but I can’t find mine 18’x 52 they only sell 48” now.

while installing a pool is not my interest, I got a lot out of this video, like how easily you made that look like a clean install with just some pebbles and simple pavers. I fail at the small details but you have given me something to think about. And the sand filter is something I might look into for our duck pond. Thanks for the video!

I always saved money by getting my chemicals from a regular pool place, I never had any luck getting chemicals from Walmart. The people at the pool place always set me up with the right amount of chemicals also tested my pool water for free to see what I needed.

Ace Hardware will test your water for free... and, yes, I then go to Walmart and buy whatever I need which is not usually much.

Can get a filter for your hosepipe to filter all the unwanted stuff out. Great job!

Good job. Those filters do a nice job. Many years ago I used to manage our townhouse assoc clubhouse & pool, and I maintained the pool. We had a large system like that and I liked watching the debris getting caught in the basket and how it flushed out all the nasty stuff. : )

You know what we did with our 20 foot pool just like yours we dug a cool foot deep hole in the center that went out to the edges so that the pool was a real deep in the center I am 5 foot 10 and the pool water was up to my neck in the center ..and if you went out it would rise. So it was like those pools that u walk in and it starts getting deep.... try it I think you will like it your family will too being 5-10 and the water being up to my neck what's so cool
