Me and my brother head canon that Cornifer is one of the most powerful characters in the game. So when we saw him cowering in Deepnest, we knew we were fcked.

@@N-olla That's what he meant. To get to where Cornifer is in the fog canyon, you have to either get shade cloak, or swim through acid from the fungal wastes. The acid itself is on fungal wastes territory

I actually never encountered that, they were always a bit off of where I needed to be, so I usually spent my Geo, or kept it on me rather than storing them.

Whelp. Dan the rhyming timecart has done it again. Shown his immense skill while also being everywhere in hallownest. This whole playthrough he’s been fighting late to end game bosses extremely early, and early game bosses extremely late. I’m so excited to see how this unfolds

@kawaiicake8038 Grimm, the leader of the Troupe that bears his name. At the start of the fight in his arena, he bows at you -- it's a window for a free hit, but the fight's actually _easier_ if you bow back.

@@proxy1035 tbh chat does try to tell him but he specifically says to not help him unless he says "ok chat help me' iirc. If he doesn't say the safe word, all tips and spoilers are deleted and users are timed out for at least an hour

The game punishes you for it too, if you attack while he’s bowing he shrieks and immediately goes into the bullet hell balloon phase in retaliation.
I’m slowly feeling more and more guilty that I’d hit Grimm solely so he’d do his balloon attack, since it was a free hit and it was easy enough to dodge…

36:55 You're halfway to having fully mastered the subtle art of steady body, which consists in running straight to the enemy and smacking them in the face. All you have left to learn is to not headbutt said enemy, for their cranium tends to be surprisingly resilient.

Steady body is actually absurd for a couple of the bosses. With radiance you can juggle yourself in the hit-box because she has no collision, and you can also get two up slashes off every jump due to the lower recoil.

White palace normal run =\= path of pain.
Path of pain reward is a lore cutscene, while the white palace gives right side of king soul.

Isn't farewell in celeste harder than path of pain? Sure, RT hasn't done farewell (yet) but I've played both and i've struggled a lot more on farewell than path of pain

It's the third best charm, right behind Unbreakable Strength and THE CHILD.

It also attacks Corpse Creepers in Deepnest before they reanimate. It's a very good way to not get surprised by them
Fun fact: NKG's health increases if you upgrade your nail. However, the increase is small enough that you'll still beat him in fewer attacks than you would before. This does impact your magic, however, as spells do not scale with nail strength.

Wait, actually, NKG's health doesn't scale with nail strength. His health is just a flat 1500. What I was thinking of was Grimm (the normal fight), who has 800 health for the basic nail and the first two upgrades, 930 for Spiraled, and 1000 for Pure.
There are actually several bosses which have scaling health. Among these are: The Collector, the Watcher Knights, the Hive Knight, and the Enraged Guardian, and of these four the first three do the Grimm thing where their health is static until the Sprialed Nail when it starts going up, while Enraged Guardian's health begins to scale at the Channeled Nail.
Along with them, all 7 dream warriors (Elder Hu and the like) have scaling health with your nail (3 have unique scaling, while Gorb, Marmu, No Eyes, and Xero all have their health be 200, 320, 416, 500, and 570 depending on your nail level).
Plus, all of the Grimmkin (the enemies who carry around the flames which you collect) have health which scales with your nail level too, despite not being considered bosses. Nightmare King Grimm is, in fact, the _only_ enemy in the Grimm Troupe who doesn't have scaling health.

@@marblight2068 I wouldn’t really call that a cheese, but more strategic planning. A cheese is something that exploits the game’s mechanics to achieve something in a way the devs didn’t intend. Killing stuff is not a cheese

of a late A Side level and Path of Pain is at the level of a mid to late B Side level. Neither is quite as bad as some C Side levels or Chapter 9

There are 47 bosses in Hollow Knight, and RT tried to fight the second hardest one on the second episode. Yikes.
To be fair, at the rate he’s going, this is probably also the second to last episode.
Also, you forgot to mention that he’s already fought the hardest boss - Primal Aspid - several times already

Oh some of them do but Dan specifically says no backseating and spoilers. If people do that they're timed out for an hour at least. He wants to play the game blind and he's adamant on that. The Twitch chat mods help out a lot in that regard too
