Yasushi Akimoto keeps writing impactful (and sometimes gut-wrenching) songs about longing, missed opportunities, tenderness, and above all else, hopefulness.
Out of all of these lineups, it seems that the ones populating 2010 to 2016 were the most talented, and had the most interesting chemistry.

ive changed my mind about a lot of the placements in this video since making it. even though making these ranking videos is fun, im a very indecisive person so songs go up and down all the time for me.
This is a pretty solid Top 10. I'd rank HR above SNH just because it is THE song that AKB's history will be told around (for all of the reasons). I would also choose Labrador Retriever in place of Sentimental Train, but maybe that's because of my fondness for the Goose House cover (which is better than the original). Would any of the most recent three make the Top 10? No, probably not. Though I like the "plandemic" aspect of the "Idol Nanka Janakattara" song hitting in the year 33 (and counting) members announce their graduation.
@@grechan the latest single is very addicted song but because of many graduation announcement it overshadowed. Sigh.
For me classical songs hit example Oogoe Diamond, Heavy Rotation and Fortune Cookie In Love. But Akai Pin Heel To Professor😍

1. Beginner 2. Kaze wa Fuiteiru 3. Flying Get I love how these songs "hit" and gel together fluid, beautiful, punchy and entrancing super cute but with a hard edge. Lovely harmonies, entrancing dance and fabulous feel; marvelous mix of rock,disco, and Japanese music updated for modern day. Looking back to classical, I also really like the Beethoven 5th symphony riff in Beginner my favorite AKB 48 song with my favorite choreography and outfits.
4. Heart Ereki
5. Ue kara Mariko- one of the best melodies made when they sing the beloved member's name
6. Namida Surprise - wonderful prototype for Beginner and Flying Get in my opinion love the beautiful bindfold dance by Maeda Atsuko
7. 10 nen Sakura / Ogoe Diamond go together really well can't separate
8. Maybe reminds me a lot of Heavy Rotation but came before it and like it a bit better

Ranking AKB48 's songs is quite hard. They're all good even the b side too, not including the theater songs.
For me in no particular order my top 5 would be #sukinanda, Kimi wa melody, heavy rotation, koi soru fortune cookie and iwake maybe.

Why is No Way Man so low? I think it's almost the best song they have, it's one of the few songs of theirs that resembles kpop
its not that low and i do like it...they just have many better songs in my opinion. just because it resembles kpop doesnt make it better than any of their other songs...
@@SNSDP0P no, making it similar to kpop doesn't make it better but in my opinion I like the implementation of electronic music in that style. The music is inspired by the rhythm of kpop and at the same time maintains the Japanese essence. And that is why I consider it worthy among the first positions or even the first place among all. Although of course it is my opinion, you can think otherwise, I was still surprised that it was so low for the potential it has.
