That was so much fun to go through. Thank you for putting so much effort into making it! I stopped following them since 2010 so it's cool to see them continually making music. A group with 100+ singles is insane. Seeing your list makes me want to go back and listen to the later singles from them now:) My favorites are below in no particular order:

Ok. I just finished it and I totally agree with your commentary on the top 5. Especially #3!! That one really is my favorite of the current era of MoMusu. And I'm mostly ok with your top 20. But "Resonant Blue" needs to be thrown to #76! No way is it better than "Brainstorming!" Hahahah

Chokkan 2 is not the A side material, and that because Koi wa Hassō Do the Hustle! was supposed to be the A side, but it was so poorly reviewed, they switch it at the last minute and made a quick pv with lots of pre-recorded live materials from concert. So yeah, that's why.
Hyokkori Hyoutanjima is actually classic children show with puppets, this is a cover of the main song, and Momusu are dressed as characters from it.
I would put Ai No Tane higher, such a beautiful and sweet song, and it have a nice cover made for anniversery with a new pv too.
i know these things...i am a momusu fan....explanations aside they still arent good songs to me

I was really into MM up until around 2013 when Kanon left and it started to go electronic and I completely stopped following them. Then in 2021 I said what has MM been up to and am so full of sadness and regret that I stopped listening to them. I missed so much and back in 2002-2008 they got me through some crappy years. They have now brought so much joy back into my life and I love blasting their music in the car and people be like what’s this big white dude jamming out to?

I am Korean. I am not good at English. mornong musume is GREAT BIG L.O.V.E.
I've always been a fan of American rock & pop music -- ESPECIALLY when the song had a horn section. Knowing that, in 2015, my daughter (who studied Japanese in elementary school and was a big anime fan) introduced me to Mr. Moonlight. I was blown away -- not just by the great Big Band sound, but by how spot-on Morning Musume captured the style and slightly naughty attitude of the late 1940s. Mr. Moonlight opened my eyes (and ears) to Jpop and Kpop. Shortly after that, I stumbled across my first Mamamoo videos -- a moment that literally changed my life, (musically at least). At that instant I became a huge Mamamoo fan. In the 8 years since then, I've had great fun discovering great Western rock and pop music by Eastern artists. And it all started with Mr. Moonlight. So... my top 5 Morning Musume songs are:

I've only been a fan from 2003 to 2010 so I couldn't tell you my faves from 2010 onward. I'm glad to see many Platinum Era singles high on your list, those were good times. Mr. Moonlight was my very first MM song (as a lover of musicals back in the day it holds a special place in my heart), but my first single as a new fan was "Go Girl" and I was not ready to see a group of 15 girls singing and dancing at the same time. lol My Honorable Mention would be "Koi wa Hassou Do the Hustle" which should've been the A-side instead of Chokkan 2. Kamei Eri (my fav. member) had so much lines and screentime in that PV, it's a shame it didn't become the single.
Estoy de acuerdo con gran mayoría de los primeros puestos, pero considero también que muchos debieron estar más arriba, por ejemplo: As for One Day, Ai Araba It's All Right, Furusato, Souda We're ALIVE, Koko ni Iruzee! (joyas musicales) también The Vision, Mikaeri Bijin, One and Only, y Jinsei Blues.
Sinceramente hubiese dejado al final los singles de Morning Musume del 2020 al 2021 (incluyendo a Seishun Night, Ningen Way Way, Sou Janai, y quizá What is LOVE?) por qué son canciones poco atractivas a comparación de otros singles, a mí perspectiva claro está.
Estoy de acuerdo con la posición que le diste a One Two Three, Shouganai Yume Oibito, Osaka Koi no Uta (aunque lo hubiese puesto entre los primeros cinco puestos) Toki wo Koe Sora Wo Koe y Do It Now!
Y bueno, Mikidashi de Mukiatte no es una mala canción pero el tercer puesto ¡le quedó muy grande! a mí parecer.

De acuerdo contigo en que As for one day es excelente y merece una mejor posición. Yo fácilmente la pongo entre las primeras 10 de mi preferencia. Pero Mukidashi de mukiatte es una de sus mejores canciones. En esta diferimos. Y también la pongo en mi top 3.
You know, if you ask any Momusu fan about their song ranking, it'll be totally different from you. Each fan will have a totally different ranking. Maybe because of the huge discography. For example, Jama shinaide is easily my top20 song but it is at the bottom of your list lol A gonna has such a great instrumental that I listen to the instrumental daily in my car.

This list mostly depends on when you start following MoMusu. To me they basically stopped existing after Kimagure Princess, so the first 30ish singles are automatically in the top30, especially the iconic ones you put at the bottom lol. Only late last year I've decided to give the 2010-2021 era a shot and while I like the members, especially Maa-chan (sad she had to graduate) and Oda (finally someone who can actually sing), i only like a handful of songs (Sexy Cat no Enzetsu and Beat no Wakusei), the other ones feel all the same to me, don't wanna be as cruel as saying "soulless and overprocessed" like another comment I saw, but they definitely lack identity. The only 2 things O can't stand is Sayumi's autotune and Kusumi Koharu (no idea why Tsunku tried so hard to pass her as rje the "Miracle" why she clearly is no Goto Maki) xD in any case, I respect your opinion and like your videos, keep up the good work!
i think its about time people got over the nostalgia of their most "iconic songs" from golden era...i dont think most of them are actually as good as people make them out to be. they have much better songs from platinum era onwards imo

How you got "koi no dance site," "furusato" and "a looking back beauty" all in the 90s and being beaten by the likes of "The Password is 0" and that terrible "Sunshine" song and the rest of the newer, soulless, over-processed and rushed dregs of the last 5 years. (Triple A-sides is a bad idea to be the norm). But those three belong in the top 10 if not for their writing, but also their importance. And, if not top 10, top 20 easy! koi no dance site and happy summer wedding have been considered by a lot of people to have aspects such as the choreography, outfits and pv sets that are offensive/disrespectful towards desis and their cultures. music wise i just dont think those songs hold up in todays standards....theyre just bad
