    I didn't know it was that easy to dissolve the card's plastic. Cool video!

    You had me, right up until you used spray paint as adhesive and waterproofing. I would love to see your version 2 fully encased in resin

    Nicely done--the winding can be tricky. The key is to avoid folding the antenna back on itself. Folds themselves are fine, just not a complete 180-fold in the opposite direction. Unfortunately, multiple winding configurations result in this situation, so it is kinda hit-or-miss. I achieved excellent results by putting an old plastic film canister in the middle of the antenna, picking a "center point" (place your thumb against the antenna and film canister, with your thumb in the middle of a longer edge of the antenna--the longer edge based on its positioning in the card), and the twisting + winding the wire on either side of the "center point" in opposite directions. This should result in a circle configuration which can be manipulated into other circular shapes, but not completely folded over on itself (i.e., no folded semicircles).

    Hold on. Clever and fun but totally unnecessary. Buy a "vertical ID card name tag badge holder" and a lanyard. Put the keycard in the holder, hook it to the lanyard, and put the lanyard around your neck. The thing sits under your wetsuit. The card gets wet, but it doesn't matter. I've been doing this for two years.

      my wetsuit doesnt have a pocket/holder that fits a card. if that were the case i'd just use the tesla card

      Same here. The card is on a strap that goes around my neck.

      I only surf in board shorts. Only in the winter when it’s bombing, 2-3x overhead (my minimum size to even make it worth it) I always make every wave & air but fear the spit from some of my barrels could blow off the necklace.

    Can I maybe know the dimensions of the plastic?

    • @RobbieTilton
      @RobbieTilton  Před 2 lety +1

      the width goes from .75in to .25in. And the length is 2.75in
