      Agreed! Was disappointed in the quality control issues with the C450 but they really stepped up and made it right. I've been very happy with the C63s and look forward to sharing the review in a few weeks :)

    Hey arcade, I'm glad Mercedes took care of you. I used to own a 2016 C450 AMG. I purchased it in October 2015 and was able to drive it with no transmission problems until I reached 5,500 miles on the odometer. I would have same thump/hard shifting feeling in gear 2 in C or E mode or in gear 1 in sport+ mode before up shift to next gear. It was like this annoying hiccup in the gears. It always happened between 8-12 miles Mph. I took it in to dealer and they flashed or reprogramed the transmission and the problem still exist. I took it back and they put in a new solenoid and the program still existed. I took it back a third time and the changed out the torque converter and the problem was still there. I had multiplayer drives with 2 foremans to confirm problem and they agreed it still needed to be worked on. After 3 attempts to fix transmission and 10 months of having to get multiple car loaners, at on time up to a month with out my car totally maybe 16 weeks of not having my car I called Mbusa to initiate the Car Buy Back program/Lemon Law. It took about 3-4 weeks to get everything taken care of. I surrender the car last week and they wrote me a check for all my car payments from the time I had transmission issues till the time I surrender the car. About 5 days later they payed off the remaining car loan that I had with Credit Union. It was a great car and now I'm looking for another C450 with options close to what I had because my car was fully loaded, but It's going to be tough since they are phasing out this model. I keep hearing about a replacement for this model with a 9g transmission. Any ideas to what it is and when it will come out? Mercedes website doesn't show a 2017 C-class 4 door only a 2 door coupe.

    Damn, I glad you posted this video. I just got my C450 last week and today I got the inoperable problems and I couldnt drive my car. Had to call mbrace and have it towed. Never had issues with my last 2 mercedes. Man I was just daydreaming that if this turns out to be a lemon then they need to give me a great deal on the C63s they had in the showroom. Then I saw your video as I was searching for others with my issue.

    no hate on the c63, c43 or the c450 for that matter and although MB took care of it a v6 vs a v8 is a big difference! not to mention parts are far more expensive on a c63 than the c450! not so sure it was a good deal, great car yes but with gas prices these days that c63 is notorious for gas compared to the c450! i just bought a c450 amg about 2 months ago, very clean though about 27,000 kms 2016 of course and so far no issues but good to know what other have experienced

    I am so happy for you man. C63s is my dream car. I watched your whole video because I have a C450 AMG as well! I bought it 11 months ago and to be honest I had no issue so far! Also to let you know I already have 23000 miles on the car! lol I know it is a lot because I love driving. However I do have 1 issue so far which is the black window trims that are turning to rainbow color! I am now really worried after watching this video. I thought maybe a good polish job can fix the issue. I will polish it tomorrow and see how it goes! I wish Benz would offer me a C63s haha ;) Have so much fun buddy

      I had a 2014 45. Great car that had a lot of problems with the transmission software. 3 transmissions later they offered me the C450 for no money - just a key exchange. I really wanted a 2016 CLA45 but they wanted me to give them $5000. Not happening. I reluctantly took the C450. I like it OK, now that I've had it for nearly a year. I still miss my 45, though. The 45 is way more fun, but the C450/C43 is a much "nicer" car. The family likes the 450 way more than the they liked the 45. I like the 45 way more when I want to hoon, but the 450 is a nicer everyday car.

  • @The_McD
    @The_McD Před 7 lety +1

    Solid overview. The C450 def has issues and they've phased it out. Dealers are doing deep discounts. It's now the C43. I'd buy the valentine V1 radar if I was driving that C63! Oh man. That's a BIG difference. Enjoy it.

    I have a C450 as well. After 6 BMW's this is my first Mercedes. I'm actually very happy and satisfied with this car, coming from a BMW F10 530d. I was looking for a smaller and more sporty car to do 30k miles par year, and this C450 is for me the perfect solution. I drove the C63 as well, but for me the power really is overkill. :) The only big issue what really annoys me in this C450, is the rattling and squeaking interior. It really makes me mad! Because of this issue, i'm thinking about trading in the C450 for a E43 AMG.
    I like to wish you good luck with your new C63. Be carefull with that beast!! ;-)

    Was one of the cars I was considering until I saw this. This sort of thing seems to be a common problem with 1st year or 2 of a new car/new generation of a car. A friend of mine just bought the replacement for this the C43 (he bought a coupe) a week ago

  • @WorkHardPlayHardTV-1
    @WorkHardPlayHardTV-1 Před 8 lety

    I'm confused or I miss something. You stated that you were Mercedes Burlington however you know about the Lemon Act as you are from the US so I am guessing you now live and purchased your car in Canada? From what I gather you also have a lease agreement with Mercedes so they were able to give you a C63s as an exchange plus $20K extra toward the vehicle, is that correct? I have had some issued with my C450, no upgraded to C50 Lorinser however I am seeing the black trim change colour which at first I thought it was because the vehicle was sitting in the sun. I have had countless problems with my vehicle and have done video after video on the issues. Looks like my next issue will be the trim. You are right that Mercedes Corporate is useless when it comes to dealing with vehicle problems as they seem weak against the dealerships which is unexpected since this is a Luxury brand.

    • @arcade15x
      @arcade15x  Před 8 lety

      Mercedes Benz of Burlington, in Burlington, MA (just outside of Boston, in the US). Nothing to do with Canada :)
      And yes that is the trade-in logic, plus 10k taken off of the sticker price of the car. MB corporate is definitely useless. My advice is to work with a good dealer and if you have enough mechanical issues, have them help you exchange the car.

    I'm sorry that you were stuck with Mercedes, but hopefully the 63 works out (too bad it's a gas guzzler). They should have thrown in a GLC for good measure to help you out for winter. Did you ever have Bimmer issues? You had a 335?

    • @arcade15x
      @arcade15x  Před 8 lety

      Agreed with the GLC lol. Not looking forward to trying to drive the C63 in the winter, but I am moving to northern cali next year anyways, so I only need to survive one winter. I had a 2011 335xi before, which was fantastic in the snow and I didn't really have any issues. My only problem was the coolant pump failure, which is a known defect and was covered under warranty.

    I have the C450 also and my car was in the shop for about a month due to a electrical short and they were about to replace the main wiring harness also. Interesting! Issue has been fixed but noticing some strange transmission issues. Mainly from 1st to 2nd gear or downshifting from 2nd to 1st. It is rough at times.

    • @arcade15x
      @arcade15x  Před 8 lety

    Damn man. I'm looking, or was thinking of actually buying a C300 or C43 around December/January time frame, but I've been reading and hearing some pretty bad things about the C class reliability. I mean if I'm going to drop $50K on a new car I don't expect to have these sort of issues in the first few months of ownership. Consumer Reports gave C class a solid black dot for reliability!!! I was shocked, could not believe it, but as I do more research it appears that they are not far off. I think it's pretty obvious you don't recommend the C class, but the new A4 is so basic and uninteresting looking, and BMW 3 series is so 'old' that I really don't know what to buy.

    This video was super helpful. I just called Mb Roadside Assistance. My 2016 MB c450 has roughly 1200 miles, barely driven. I had the service A done at 1150 where my dealer charged me $250 for it.
    Anyway, long story short, i was pulling out of my garage today and noticed that my car stalled in Drive gear. Then I put it back into P and restarted the car, which didnt help. After it started moving with no acceleration, i felt and heard screeching and suspension sounds, felt as if the car sunk. I put it back into The garage and MB roadside is coming to tow it tomorrow.
    I'm extremely pissed as I dont want to spend the time and effort arguing with the service department... anyway, im bummed the c450 have so many reported issues over the MB forums......

    Arcade,
    I'm having some issues too with my Infiniti Q50 2.0T Sport. basically the car is fitted with a Mercedes Benz 2.0l engine from the CLA250/C250 - 208 hp. The car has starting problem - it had a rattling sound just after being cranked and the sound went away within a second. Engine light came up and vehice taken to Infiniti dealer. Took 3 months to repair, new camshaft, cam pulley timing chain fitted. Now there seems to be some exhaust fume leak from the engine as you can smell the fumes when the bonnet/hood is opened. when ventilation system running fumes enter the cabin.
    The technician came by and confirmed the smell, admitted that he doesn't know what to do...
    Long story short they will take the car back to dealership and try fix it.
    Question i have is this law regarding the car being in the shop for 1st 15k miles an international thing or a Massachusetts thing?
    Upgrading to a proper AMG model best way the drama could of ended. Maybe I will upgrade to the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400!!
    Waiting for C63s update.
