Fun fact: The Horse Rider execution used to not decapitate. When it first dropped, it used to only be a slice to the neck. But for some reason, a couple months later, they added a decapitation to the execution.
I wish they didn't honestly, it felt more unique
It was supposed to be a decapitation it was only bugged. In the video that showcased it when it released the head flies off
Honestly reminds me of something they did in Call of Duty. When MWII dropped, there was a playstation exclusive operator called Oni and his execution was Bloody Percussionist, and in October when they made him available for all platforms a few days before MWIII dropped, they added a decapitation to the downed version for some reason
Knock knock gets a cool factor of 4 only when facing that one orochi/shaman that immediately runs away at the start of every elimination round to gank and as soon as they get low they run
And shinobi
Fits with LB basically saying "No retreating"
@@ImWhyMortalsCry yeah or “die with honor” or “die while fighting is an honorable death”
@@kalebmcgee7678or as Jackal's would say: "Stop right there, THOT!!!!!"
The "Oh Come On" part where you was so disappointed that it didn't kill, I was laughing my behind off.
33:12
Warden: *sudden cardiac arrest*
Lawdaddy: dammit. scared him to death.
I am glad Lawdaddy got the love he deserves. But fugs sake Raven, why do you have to deny me the Centurion video with that "no repeating faction" rule from the community poll. XD
incredibilis
I second it. Best character next. Cent please my good fellow.
Best character btw
25:38 i think that deserves a lethality of 4 because Lawbringer is using the hammer head of the halberd which is specificaly made to battle armor not only that but with that momentum and that small of a striking point which is actualy better because of the ammount of force put into that small space would be even more lethal than the axe part especialy becasue he flew so hard away if after that strike warden doesnt have a crushed skull or at least a huge hole in his head that has a messed up brain smashed to bits then thats an immortal dude right there
yeah. That's gonna crush through the helmet and skull, and mush your brain. absolute undeniable death there.
Yea my main problem with this video is that he mostly just refers to the halberd as an axe when in reality its 3 weapons in 1. A axe, a spear, and a war hammer. Its considered by many to be one of the most versatile weapons ever made
@@seanbean3880 that's a Pole-Axe not a Halberd😒
I always saw the knock knock execution as Lawbringer purposefully knocking out the opponent so he can take them prisoner after the battle. It fits with his sort of enforcer vibe
Still doesn't kill.
@@dragonbornexpress5650 Good. It shouldn't.
Lawbringers intimidating presence gave the last guy a heart attack so realism 4/4
Why wouldn't he have had a heart attack during the fight if that was the case
Cus now he couldnt fight back, lost his weapon and saw lawbringer rear up@@sensu56
I think you undervalued the efficiency for Duralex. The first thing he does is smash in his stomach to make sure he isn't going anywhere, and he has his weapon in hand the entire time. Yeah it takes a while but he's not defenseless.
The "it takes a while" is why it gets that lower score.
@@MementoMori7777 I'm arguing that it should be a 2 since 1 is reserved for ones where they put their weapon away or when they do something nonsensical.
He made sure he was able to take his time by smashing his chest in, and had his weapon in hand the entire time, so he would've been able to defend himself if somebody tried to interrupt, and his victim wouldn't be in the fight anymore.
The voice you used for lawbringer when he knocked warden out is how i will now imagine my lawbringer to sound. 😂
"Oh come on!": the execution where even ubi is like "yeah the fight before is what killed him" [insert shrug smirk face]
I was actually waitin for this execution because it's one of the few that actually confirms how beat up and close to death the opponent is after dropping bellow zero health
I feel like it could be argued they’re not that close to death, considering some executions have the victims fleeing, or even fighting back in some cases… if you wanted to include universal exes: they even play instruments, drink(-ish) with the attacker, commit seppuku, plead for mercy, look at cute n’ DEADLY animals, etc. I know those are more for a comedic purpose but I thought I’d include those. If you REAALLYY wanted to stretch it, they can also be revived if you dont execute them, I personally always used the revival logic with executions
@@stormstorm3280 a counter argument:
Some People in excutions are different, meaning some of them are different depending on there thoughness or stamina, some of them would fight, run, goofing, etc. This one, when he's just drop dead, that would mean he's not has tought or healthyer to do any last breath moves, he just.. drops dead, he's way too week to do anything.
@@griffin8690 You could say that, but if that were the case I think different executions would have to have different outcomes with each character, I see what you’re saying but we’re just limited to a set animation, and even then that would be extremely inconsistent as far as how kills go
Also opponent camera angle is quite fun. Camera angle is a really underrated part of a exe
@@stormstorm3280 I think something Raven always neglects in his videos is that during the start of an execution the character ALWAYS pulls their weapon out of the victim, because when an execution starts there’s an animation where your weapon is inside the opponent. It’s very likely in this case with “Oh Come On” that that was enough to kill. Either way I think giving the execution a 0% overall is just crazy. It’s still a very cool execution even if you deny everything else.
For the bomb execution, to quote oversimplified General Pickett in the Pig War,”OH CRAP JEFF, WERE ABOUT TO GET BLOWN TO BITS!”
Fun fact about Oh Come On, you can animation cancel it and still get the health of a long execute. Same with Knock Knock.
With Oh Come On it's after the strike where u get health, you just completely forget the little tap he does, so as far as I'm aware it's his quickest execution
How do you animation cancel
@localfloridaman1743 you get hit
I just want to say that I really like your opinions and observations on these execution videos, and although I do not agree with you some of the time when it comes to your perspective, I do like how well thought out your reasoning is. You make great videos, its why I am subscribed and watch your content. Keep up the great work!
Raven for the execution where lawbringer kicks you onto the ground and drags you with the poleaxe, the reason he’s dragging the opponent is to get him away from his weapon because you can see warden trying to reach for something while he’s getting dragged.
In my family’s re-enactments my dad generally either uses twin swords or his Halberd. I in a way kinda see my dad in the Lawbringer armor. Heck I can see my mom as a Warden or an Aferra
37:12 I love how Raven's 0% is well timed up with Lawbringer's moves of dissapointment😆
Playing lawbringer just makes you feel like a brute or just extremely strong and big
Can’t wait for this grading and the rework with hero fest to 😊
29:25 the cool part about that is that gryphon had an exe thats bassiacally the same but where he does decapitate really shows how gryphon used to be a lawbringer
POV raven knight misses the unique hero feast execution by a day
Every time I do the hands on approach execution for Lawbringer I can’t help but quoting the Simpsons! “CHOKE ON YOUR LIES!!!”
The last execution I was not expecting that, I thought it was either a zero or four for lethality cuz he didn’t do anything but the warden is obviously dead but for the other categories I figured you would’ve have some grade. Yikes. Amazing vid tho and lawdaddy does have a bunch of banger executions
Quick note at 25:41, when you say "the wrong end" I dont think I agree. When you use a poleaxe like that and you are going up against someone with armor, you would be much better off using the hammer than the axe, so I think lb is intentionally doing this, to damage armored opponents which, im sure you know, a blunt weapon is generally more effective against heavy armor than bladed weapons, its also possible that, in the context that lawbringer is fighting armored opponents, he wouldnt want to damage his axe blade by hitting it against a steel helmet, for arguably the same damage as just using the hammer.
Im not entirely sure how this argument fits into For Honor, where there are both armored and unarmored heads, but I just wanted to share my thoughts,
loved the video :)
What I love about lawbringer is that, in different lenses, he towers over a lot of other heroes in full plate armor as well. And if we consider their unique executions ""canon"" him being able to lift a guy up and snap their neck is the most terrifying thing anyone could see.
Of course, I understand you're looking at this with a realistic view and not a in-character view. Great video, love to see the iron giant get some love!
I’ve been waiting for so long for this
My favorite hero rides in style in this vid. Much love for this execution review friend
I think the repeated tapping of the shaft in "Back Breaker" can actually be explained to a certain degree: Lawbringer might be doing that to better control the momentum of the poleaxe, or maybe he's doing so to avoid any friction burns on his gauntlet (nobody likes friction burns), or something else entirely. Still a little awkward, but I think it has some practical function to it, and even if it doesn't, it in no way takes up a lot of time so the efficiency score still remains a 4 anyways.
As for "Oh Come On!", I think it could easily be fixed and I doubt I would get much disagreement on this: Have it to where, instead of Lawbringer tapping the opponent's corpse twice with the back of the poleaxe shaft, make it to where he stabs the opponent's forehead with the spike of the poleaxe and then immediately yanks it out while shaking his head in disappointment. This would immediately give him a 4 for Lethality as it's a spike being plunged right into your brain, a 4 for Realism as it is very much something you can do without much issue (horrifyingly enough), a 4 for Efficiency because it's basically a double tap to 100% ensure the kill, and would at least give it some form of Cool Factor because it shows that Lawbringer wants to ensure he 100% killed the opponent while also fitting with his dominant personality.
To the back breaker tapping thing. I think he's making sure he's got the weight right before striking? That's how I was telling it
To raise a fair point for the bomb execution , he pushes him back , if this is a battlefield scenario , there could be others behind the warden trying to back him up , if the explosion is big enough it could knock them back a bit , it's not unecessary so to say, and for the other when he strikes the axe into the chest and pulls them back , you could say he's pulling the warden back to get away from enemies and get closer to allies so they can defend him?
Been playing Lawbringer since launch and ever since Oh Come on came out I have never unequipped it. Even if you put an effect on it, the effect gets cut short. It's one of my favorite executions. You cant get more unique of an execution than a non-execution.
For the final blow execution with the bomb, you have to notice that its not just the spike sized hole since LB actually rips the spike out through the SIDE of the opponent which would create a large tear in the abdomen and significant disembowling.
Finally been waiting for lawbringer😊
15:09 Raven, if you actually look at the blade, you can see why he drags him back. If you look at the blade, you can see it going down the body which is cutting through the intestines and the lungs. I think the reason of the drag is so he actually makes sure that he is dead. You can also see the “way” he takes out the blade. So for the efficiency, I would kind of say 4 because Lawbringer was dragging the blade further down the body cutting up the intestines and kind of cutting open the lungs.
Your videos are always a treat to watch, curious though would you ever consider making a video on which hero has the most brutal or lethal (no decapitations) in the game and if not that then it’s equivalent which hero has the deadliest weapon (despite pirate having a gun)
Must say I love the cape, very creative use of symbol to organically change the base pattern.
I’ve watched all of these videos on my Xbox, I love these, there’s some thing I disagree with sometimes but I still enjoy it none the less
So, the last one. When buddy drops dead, there's one effect that actually makes it believable and fatal.. It's the effect where the opponent gets pelted with a ton of arrows, and the timing is perfect because he just drops dead 😅
>Last but not least, “Oh, come on”
>Proceeds to give the least score ever
Dude! You own a poleaxe? That is f***ing sweet! Can you show it one day as a future video?
I’m also with you on how cool poleaxes are. In fact, I’ve created an OC who uses a pole axe but with mixed martial arts that rotate between savagery and stoicism.
ah this quality content i do declare.
23:24 to add onto this, this is half of what halberdiers were supposed to do
a good chunk of a presence of a poleaxe user/halberdier was a show of force, to scare the hell out of the enemy. now sure, fighting a swordsman, a poleaxe is wildly inefficient due to its lack of effectiveness in closer proximities, but halberdiers were often flanked by swordsmen to defend them in initial assaults
I've been waiting for chadbringer to get one of these since day 1
He got a new one today. I’m guessing 4 for lethality, 2 for realism, 4 for efficiency, and 3 for cool factor.
You’re gonna go to bed till you learn to be a soldier fucking gold
LOVE IT
Cant wait to see what my boy gets. My main, my only rep 70.
I started watching this video having seen only 2 of the other videos in this series, neither being the "This is an execution" vid, that one is next. Going into this i only had 2 exes in mind, what will he grade horserider and "Oh Come On!" And even though i enhoy those exes i got to say fair, very fair hahaha
Knock knock honestly got a fair score buuut when equipped with the right effect, it really makes it way better. I have it equipped with an effect that ignites the opponent when the halberd hits the opponent (my lawbringer is basically a “lord of flames”) but I think the effect gives it a huge upgrade. I know you don’t include effects on your grades tho
"Maybe I shouldn't teach you guys how to break a neck."
Don't worry Raven, there's another CZcams video just for that.
Also the stomp execution doesn't seem to be about the glutes but the lumbar zone, like is severing his low back from the body, breaking his spine.
Anyway, after the stomp that warrior ain't walking no more.
for tene cursum, however you spell it, i always thought the balde was hitting them in the mouth and not the neck, probably still shouldve gone clean through but its still great
For tene cursum, would the pole axe really be strong enough to break through and split through the head right above the jaw? Seems reasonable that it gets stuck there, doesn’t really seem like his fingers contributed to stopping the blade at all just the skull.
For Sto Pro Veritate, I would like to point out one key factor for the efficiency:
Warden is gripping the Axe Head as Lawbringer is pulling; Lawbro's DRAGGING him because Warden's resisting.
Still, he could've just stomped on Warden then rip the PoleAxe out.
Bro should've stopped resisting lol
"Oh come on!"
~Raven's reaction to the oh come on execution
Poleaxe swing like that with the hammer side would crush the helmet and head with it I’d say.
Why does everyone have such good fashion for lawbringer 😭
You may have to remake this video, since the new execution came out for Lawbringer.
How dare you! Horsey is 10/10 >:[
Also: "People don't just drop dead" I mean... If I had a Halberd driven into me, idk if I'd be alive after. Especially if you take into consideration the beating the warden technically took to get executed..
In the stomp he is doing it right above the hip line and is stabing it thru the spine
I'd like to ask for how you got that beautiful look on lawbringer, I'd like to make it myself
It looks like "The Stomp" has the spike going through to the groin area aswell, and correct me if I'm wrong, but with the amount of bloodflow through there wouldn't that cause definite bleedout?
pretty sure for guys at least, the sheer amount of pain would kill you.
Lawbringer is my main, glad to see he got one of the best scores, especially given his long list of them on par with the other gen 1 heroes.
but i will stand by that "Oh Come On" was the funniest shit
12:00 I remember that scene, big funny, pirates 1, 2, and 3 were so good
ALSO: 25:40 that is not the 'wrong' end of the weapon. did you think the hammer end was decorational? if it is the right or wrong end depends on the oponent, if the oponent has a helmet its the right end, if he doesnt its the wrong end, the hammer is end is there specifically to deal with armor, as a set of full plate or even mail makes you virtually invincible against bladed weapons, now obviously that goes more for swords, big axes/pole axes are still effective because of the mass they have because they still cause alot of blunt trauma, but you know whats better for blunt traume then a fairly long bladed part of an axe? the small, compressed hammer part of a poleaxe because it condenses the large amount of energy into a smaller area, same reason why sharper blades cut better: same energy, smaller area.
had he used the "right" side aka the bladed side that would have been LESS lethal (if youre accounting for a helmet)
Oh nice Video idea, lawbringer is my Main 😁
5:00 there's also the sheer amount of ducking force used in that hit, that is at least a major concussion at bare minimum.
Ah come on is the best amongst the funny executions, 100%
Oh come on has a hidden buff though. you can cancel the animation by dodge rolling after the heal, so it one of the quickest "executions" in for honor (and its my personal fav for LB)
Isnt Lawbringers weapon a poleaxe, not a halberd?
A halberd has 2 spikes, whilst the poleaxe has a spike and a blunt end. Correct me if im wrong.
Depends on what customization you use. While It is stated to be a pole axe there are a few heads that would make it a halberd
Huh...I kind of figure the hammer end of the Poleaxe would be pretty effective as a hammer. Nevertheless, great video and it's a bit lower than I expected. Figures Oh Come On would be an absolute 0%. I'm curious what other "execution" would also have an absolute 0%, especially in regards to your previous verdicts for the Vanguards, Heavies, and Assassins.
Haha i do remember the scene from Pirates of the Caribean: them fighting in the cave and while they are skeletons under the moonlight shoving the scepter through the three of em and the middle one gets a bomb in and then push em back into the shadow and he goes: Not fair!? *BOOM* Gotta love it
Just out of question: what would his score be if “oh come on” didn’t factor in?
25:30
I wanna say it depends on if he's hitting with the flat or the hammer side of the halberd- considering the halberds hammer is made to crush armor and bone- if that hits it'd most likely be 4/4
But I'm okay with a 3/4, if it was OVERHAND or with more force-
I really enjoy these videos and I have high hopes for my classic starting favorite when I first started playing this game. Valkyrie. In hindsight the spear itself is MEANT to penetrate armor. Some I know would be odd or hard to see as real but she is meant for stabbing. So I hope alot of it goes well. Other than that its not a complaint I promise you. It does however get confusing, (just confusing not irritating) when you say "I need you to wow me for cool factor" if it does wow and just gets it over with and gets the job done fast that efficiency is better than cool factor always. But the new execution for the hero fest is also personally confusing because it doesn't need the extra little "interaction?" but it's a neat way to use the weapon I guess.
You gave Shugoki a 4 for realism for his neck break execution and he used one hand so I would give Lb a 4 for it as well
36:39 Lmfao I was actually wondering what a 0/16 execution would look like just a couple of minutes before this
For ‘Knock Knock’ it’s like he’s catching a running criminal, you know cuz he’s LAWbringer
Hey Raven been meaning to ask you this for a long awhile
When are you gonna react to emotes or signatures with heroes? Sure your gonna have to rate em with a different category but hoping you find some of these hero emotes/signatures funny
Lmk what you think👍
27:12 U stole my chips for the last time!
I could have sworn this one already existed. My perception of time and space is slowly deteriorating. I thought he did all the knights already. Lord help me.
isn't the lawbringer hero fest coming this thursday? same day as his crazy rework?
If so, Raven will mostly likely add the grade once all Hero Fest are finished.
with Knock Knock the back of the halberd on low tier weapons is a hammer or pommel not a blade so it would be much more affective
What Abt the exe where he sharpens the axe?
About the horserider execution, your point that a upward strike doesent help you with taking a head off, i'd argue that its the oposite because his body has nowhere to go theres basically no flex so his body weight is actually assisting you in taking the head off similarly to if he had been on the ground, so a rising cut can definitely take a limb/head off it might not be the easiest way to do so but it should be easier than a horizontal cut, gravity doesent help you that much unless your weapon is way to heavy to the point that its innefective as a weapon, momentum and biomecanics is the main thing you need to worry about gravity isn't going to make a huge difference.
3:50 technically its going through the lower back around the upper tailbone area if you survive this you most likely arent walking ever again
7:06 while i will agree its not efficient , lawbringer is also in full plate , which in itself means hes not very open
11:56
Skeleton gets bomb shoved in his chest
Gets shoved out of the moon light
Turns back into human
Bomb is now stuck in his chest
So, I came back to this video after watching the Valk grading and am now wondering what Lawbringer’s new final score would be, as if Sportive Knockout from Valk gets a 4/4 for lethality, than Longshot should be retroactively changed as such.
Would this make Lawbringer the highest graded hero now?
I gave Valk that 4/4 because of the backlash I got for not giving a 4/4 to Longshot. I figured this was the score everyone wanted me to give such executions.
I think that was an over-correction then. Valk is hitting her opponent with the flat of a spear, while Lawbringer uses a much heavier weapon. Albeit, this is more of a hindsight take, aha.
Maybe once this is all said and done, you can go back and make slight adjustments to your most "controversial" scores from comments that give respectful critiques.
Even though I'm not a fan of the "oh come on" execution either, giving it a 0 in all categories is unfair and a bit disingenuous in my opinion. Yes, even with the parameters you have for grading executions. The grade should be-
Lethality: 1. He tore the axe out of his shoulder. That will cause bleeding. Probably not enough to kill but it's something. That happened in the execution. The argument of what happened before shouldn't apply because that happened in the execution. If you still think it does, than Warlord's "stuck like a pig" execution should get a 0 in lethality as well because we never saw the sword go in which is the reason why I think lawbringer got a 0.
Efficiency: 1. He died quickly after the axe was torn out he should've just left him there and moved on, but he does check to see if he's actually dead which might up the score and you can end the execution early like with the, "knock knock" execution so I think that at least should raise it a bit.
Realism: 1. As I said, you probably could die from the axe getting torn out of your shoulder but it would depend on how deep the blade was in the shoulder, if it got infected, and how long he was bleeding. It didn't seem to be that deep in the shoulder so I'll just give it a 1.
Cool Factor: 0. I'm not a fan of this one either. I think it could've been spiced up more but I just think giving it a 0 in all categories in unfair.
I remember that scene.
Are you gonna do a video for the new viking when theyre out?
Of course. Why wouldn't I?
@@RavenKnightYT i dunno
I'm just excited to see more about them
What do y’all think of his new execution that just came out?
The worst thing is that "oh come on" is by far one of the best execution if not the best execution in the game, just think it, 50 hp, fast kill time, can be cancelled of their animation and keeps the enemy in execution animation forever.
Like the best execution in the game is not really an executio, love the irony
I cant believe after 1000 hours on the game i missed out on gold like this
My main problem with the bomb execution is the fact it blows him back instead of just making a shower of blood and guts. However I can understand why the devs did that, as it would have likely made the game illegal in some countries for being that gruesome, at least thats what I ASSUME. I'm not too sure.
Who here finds it so funny after he uploaded this, Ubi put out Lawbringer’s hero fest?
Man we keep murdering the warden so many times
Just a lil thing but I guess you mentioned it at the start with finished the heavies, lawbringer isn't a hybrid he's a heavy and the last one you needed to grade. But good vid
YESSSS
I think it would of been better for the smacking with the side if axe head finisher to have the slap with the axe head be multiple times not just once.
Do we count an execution in the grades if it isn’t an actual execution? I feel like I gotta say bo
