I personally disregard skin care claims made for foundations. I have an effective skin care routine that I rely on, so that the foundation doesn’t need to do any of that. I think it’s important to avoid foundations that have damaging ingredients (like drying alcohol), but otherwise it’s coverage and finish that matter to me. I love a skin like foundation that really looks natural, so I love that you did this video.
I’m 29 yes old and look to you and Angie for foundation recommendations. I have combo leaning on dry skin but you both recommend foundations that look beautiful but not cakey or what I would consider trendy. You also make beautiful tutorials for hooded eyes (which mine are very hooded) and I thank you so much for that! Thank you Risa!

I’ve been wanting to try the it. I’ve been using that L’Oréal for awhile now. But on a whim during ultas 21 days of beauty I bought the Lancôme skin feels good. Oh my gosh. Not only was it even a better color match. It blew my mind. Was the most skin like while providing coverage that I’ve ever tried. It looked so good on my skin. And I’m combo. It made me look flawless. I couldn’t believe it.
You turned me onto the Fresh Wear. I love it. I live in a humid climate and work long hours as a nurse. It's better than many high end foundations for my skin!

Thank you for always putting your shade. Its very helpful. It's so difficult now to find a shade match. I have 3 foundations that need to go back.
I heard that. I actually have always felt horrid returning items. I hardly ever return anything. If it’s my fault I keep it, if it’s defective then I try and exchange it. Clothing will go to a charity. Makeup will go to a friend. Etc. Because I know that most items get trashed. Most foundations I can keep and mix with others and make them work. In all my years I have returned 1 item to Sephora and it was because it came so broken it was unusable.

Physician's Formula The Healthy Foundation isn't new, but Jessica Braun put it up against La Mer and got very similar results. It was on clearance at my local Rite Aid, so I picked up the lightest that they still had available. Risa, it is sooo beautiful, skin-like, and never cakey!! I'll never be able to afford La Mer so I can't back up anything in that respect. I am someone who is a very heavy sweater, and it lasted several hours easy! I have the Infallible in a couple shades and love it so much!! Thrift Thick(Cassie) had good results with the Maybelline Dream Radiant, and she's a very oily girl!

Estee Lauder's Hydra Rescue was a positive surprise. My skin is oily but surface dry. It lasts a very long time on my skin, If I use powder and setting spray. I love that foundation ❤️ It's easy to apply, which is important.

I finally tried the PMG foundation and surprisingly love it on my oily/combo mature skin (visible pores, etc). It leaves a flawless finish that doesn't look make-upey, and doesn't break down after wear either.

Angie, of hot and flashy has a foundation list with the shades she uses and it is so helpful. My skin is oily like yours so I always lean towards your recommendations. Until she makes a list of her foundation recommendations, I have had a lot of luck doing the following 1) get on the CZcams page, and 2) in the search put: "Risa Does Makeup Loreal 24 Hour Fresh Wear" (or whatever ur searching) 3)OR, if it's only a lipstick you want , put it in there instead of the foundation name. .... If she lists it in the info box, it will come up on the search. Sometimes I've found an item which was simply mentioned, not even listed. I'm surprised how well this works☺

This was a great video! Loved that you included a drugstore brand. Drugstore brands have upped their game, sometimes outperforming some of the higher brand names. I recently fell back in love with my Pat McGrath foundation. I actually bought another bottle, just in a lighter shade because I am lighter now. It is pricey. But out of everything I have tried it performed the best. I apply mine with a Real Techniques makeup sponge and am happy. Gives my skin that airbrushed finish we all try to attain. :)

I love my McGrath foundation and the primer. I have super duper oily skin but my oils don’t break it down and wash it off my nose. I just have overall moist looking skin all day. Good skin
I sometimes mix my regular foundation with my face moisturizer or lotion or cream to sheer it out and make it more skin-like. Note: some gel-type moisturizers don’t mix well with foundation but most cream moisturizers do.

Shocked that you did not add in Dior Backstage Airflash Foundation! My Holy grail is Estēe Lauders Hydra Rescue Foundation, but FINALLY tried Dior's Airflash and am literally shocked by how good it is! May even be my new Holy Grail, but I only JUST received it, so I need to give it more time to test, but as of first impressions? It is PHENOMENAL! Especially for us ladies in the age 40 and up bracket!
I was getting some enlarged pores, rough texture as well as acne & wrinkles between my eyebrows. A hydro microdermabrasion facial was such a blessing for me. My friend, a guy, said “I noticed your skin looks particularly radiant.” A GUY said that!!

Julie standing-- I think that the foundations with the least pigment in them make a person look younger and the more pigmented ones tend to show up, define, and highlight any tiny bit of texture even if it's just a little bitty flake on the skin,, (I also have dry skin, or normal/ to dry). But if there is not much pigment and there's more moisture such as a tinted moisturizer things like that just don't show up so much. I'm looking for a tinted moisturizer or BB Cream now.
The best thing is to prep your skin really well before makeup. I have in the past put Vaseline on my face while I wash my hair and get ready. Then less is more when it comes to foundation.

Great idea you had to mix Estee Lauder Double Wear and Futuristic Hydra Rescue!!! DW used to be my Holy Grail but it became too drying and the FHR was a bit too oily, so I will try your suggestion! And I agree with your comments for the other foundations as well, wonderful video!

I have dry skin, and maybe I need some sort of a different moisturizer under, but the l'oréal freshwear felt a bit drying on me. I've been actually loving the wet n' wild photo focus dewy. And the maybelline fit me Dewy + smooth.

Great vid. I have dry/combo skin & mainly dry in the cooler months. I like natural skin like finish foundations and I hate Matt & full coverage. I have the L’Oréal infallible and I’m enjoying that so far as I only started wearing this last week. I use less than a pump and suits me. Looks very skin like lasts for at least 9hrs, with very little deterioration on my skin. It’s hard to believe it’s drug store. 😊
I have mature oily skin. While I like to look fresh n dewy , my oily skin already adds too much “dew”. So I think i need a slightly natural matte finish to let my natural dew show thru😊
I hear you! What I like about these is that even if I used blot powder 5 times during the day they never get cake-y. I hope someday the cosmetics industry will come out with a truly matte foundation that still looks like skin. 🤞🏻

Elizabeth Nachman im combo skin but live in Florida so I am consign battle with to dewy cause if the humidity... then if it’s to matte Im the crypt keeper .

I love my McGrath foundation and the primer. I have super duper oily skin but my oils don’t break it down and wash it off my nose. I just have overall moist looking skin all day. Good skin

Iv been looking for a foundation that looks like skin this video is everything i need right now
I sometimes mix my regular foundation with my face moisturizer or lotion or cream to sheer it out and make it more skin-like.
Note: some gel-type moisturizers don’t mix well with foundation but most cream moisturizers do.

Shocked that you did not add in Dior Backstage Airflash Foundation! My Holy grail is Estēe Lauders Hydra Rescue Foundation, but FINALLY tried Dior's Airflash and am literally shocked by how good it is! May even be my new Holy Grail, but I only JUST received it, so I need to give it more time to test, but as of first impressions? It is PHENOMENAL! Especially for us ladies in the age 40 and up bracket!

I was getting some enlarged pores, rough texture as well as acne & wrinkles between my eyebrows. A hydro microdermabrasion facial was such a blessing for me. My friend, a guy, said “I noticed your skin looks particularly radiant.” A GUY said that!!

I've got a very dry skin and I would love a foundation that doesn't make me look older..
Julie standing-- I think that the foundations with the least pigment in them make a person look younger and the more pigmented ones tend to show up, define, and highlight any tiny bit of texture even if it's just a little bitty flake on the skin,, (I also have dry skin, or normal/ to dry). But if there is not much pigment and there's more moisture such as a tinted moisturizer things like that just don't show up so much. I'm looking for a tinted moisturizer or BB Cream now.
The best thing is to prep your skin really well before makeup. I have in the past put Vaseline on my face while I wash my hair and get ready. Then less is more when it comes to foundation.

I just tried that Colorpop hydrating foundation.....I was quite impressed with it for a foundation that was not expensive!
i have the It fnd- it’s lovely but i have relatively good skin so i have only used it twice😷 masks off in the worst way on me. i do love the PMG fndn- it’s flawless on me but i get a feeling of dryness from it .

Great idea you had to mix Estee Lauder Double Wear and Futuristic Hydra Rescue!!! DW used to be my Holy Grail but it became too drying and the FHR was a bit too oily, so I will try your suggestion! And I agree with your comments for the other foundations as well, wonderful video!

@@FrugieBlog , on the other hand, last time I ordered from IT (about 3 weeks ago) it took exactly 1 week to arrive from the date of shipping till delivery here. Maybe ordering from Sephora would be faster, but IT was having a 30% off sale on all products except YSBB. You probably receive better pricing and faster shipping than some of us commoners though😷☺🌝

I have dry skin, and maybe I need some sort of a different moisturizer under, but the l'oréal freshwear felt a bit drying on me. I've been actually loving the wet n' wild photo focus dewy. And the maybelline fit me Dewy + smooth.

My favorite from my collection so far is Maybelline Age Rewind foundation, and I've only heard a little positive on You Tube. Emily Noel said she liked it, yay! I'm 54 and have combination skin.
Great vid. I have dry/combo skin & mainly dry in the cooler months. I like natural skin like finish foundations and I hate Matt & full coverage. I have the L’Oréal infallible and I’m enjoying that so far as I only started wearing this last week. I use less than a pump and suits me. Looks very skin like lasts for at least 9hrs, with very little deterioration on my skin. It’s hard to believe it’s drug store. 😊
I have mature oily skin. While I like to look fresh n dewy , my oily skin already adds too much “dew”. So I think i need a slightly natural matte finish to let my natural dew show thru😊
I hear you! What I like about these is that even if I used blot powder 5 times during the day they never get cake-y. I hope someday the cosmetics industry will come out with a truly matte foundation that still looks like skin. 🤞🏻
