Do you usually go relic with wolf these days? When you say Leg Heroes is overrated, would you ever skip it and try to go field rations? or is that too risky? i really like recruitment with wolf, I know people usually go medicine but recruitment gets a boost when units die, and with wolf you lose units all the time, so you can really pump out villagers
I'm not Lars obviously but I don't think this is viable. Losing units is bad and you try to minimise losing units with good micro. Recruitment won't really change this since a military unit is more valuable than a villager for wolf (unless it's the first free military unit ofc). Or in other words, recruitment won't offset the krowns difference caused by you having to re-convert all the time. Basically, if you are losing units all the time you are probably losing the game anyway. The only advantage I can think of is that it will give you some better recovery after big fights but this isn't really that important imo (a lot of the time the game is over after losing a big fight anyway, who cares about some extra pop then).
@@Beanface14 thanks for the reply! I normally used to go medicine on games where I try for field rations, but last two times I've tried recruitment and felt like things were a bit nicer. I go relic if... 1.) I feel like there are less ressources on the map (no abundance of bears/neutrals). 2.) The map is closed. 3.) Team mates just chill until 802. I tried Field Rations myself, but it doesn't fit my playstyle. I'd rather be stronger with middle and have a back-up plan with veiled threats :) Also: There actually is a huge debate of medicine vs. recruitment. I can see both working and both lores have their merit! Buuuuut, I will still pick medicine 99% of the time though!
What was the idea behind the micro at 33:50 (dancing between the tiles)? I've seen other people do it but don't entirely understand it. Was it to stall/win time because you had warriors coming?
Of course! A unit entering a tile has "hit-lag". As you're a veteran player yourself, I am sure you are aware of how to clear wolves with 1 warrior by always stepping out of a tile as well. Here I am trying to integrate that with my army. Every time they enter my army tile, I try to step out of the tile after getting a hit in, using the hit-lag mechanic. As that is usually very hard to pull off as you have to make sure to move your entire army in this interaction I used the "Rally" ability to speed up my units to make it easier. P.S. You are absolutely right with your assumption at the end! This kind of "tile-dancing" buys me time in order for my reinforcements to arrive.
@@larsmanlive Ty for the elaborate reply, interesting stuff. As you say I can only imagine this working with the speed boost of rally. Without the speed boost this wouldn't really work unless all your units are perfectly on the same line, right? Since you'll always have trailing units that would be receiving free hits.
@@Beanface14 Yeah, without Rally that could end really badly as you could lose your units by one one if you press "x" with one unit still standing in the tile you left with the rest. Lining them up perfectly is theoretically possible, but not realistically executable. Pathing in Northgard is weird sometimes :D
That was because I knew my team. They are always playing super slow so I had to adapt! Best way to go more "eco" with Wolf for me personally is going bottom lore + relic. I really dislike mining stone. Thanks for the support!
