    As long as you spend at least $500 on groceries per month (excl: Walmart), then BCP gives you better bang for the buck: $360 Cashback - $95 AF = $265 total. BCE only gives $ 180 cash back without AF for the same.

    Hello Adam, I think you forgot one thing during your video, if you already have the hulu, disney plus subscription $13.99 a month or over with the blue cash preferred you will be getting a $7 statement credit every month which comes to $84 a year on a $95 a year annual fee card. Plus you still get 6% on that subscription which more than covers the annual fee and that is not even including grocery spend. To me with that new benefit the blue cash preferred beats the blue everyday everytime. Thank Adam love your videos.

The BCP was great for a couple of years for me, but thanks to you I figured out a way to get 5% on gas, 5% on groceries, 5% online (granted it's only on Amazon, but I don't do much else online), and 2% everywhere else, without an annual fee and come out ahead, so I cancelled my BCP and moved on. I had a hard time choosing between BCP and Amex Gold. I love both cash back and MR points. My spending habits were the deciding factor and i chose BCP. My BCP is for groceries, gas and streaming at over 10k/yr combined. This is one best everyday carry cards for theses categories. I'm adding BCE for online purchases. In addition, it allows more spend (if I'm over cap) in same categories and costs me nothing. For those who spend 10k/yr on groceries and travel frequently the Amex gold is ideal.

    • @TheAudioCzar
      @TheAudioCzar Před 2 lety +2

      Same dilemma for me. I went with the gold. Didn't feel like tracking the $6,000 cap, but I know I won't hit the $25,000 cap on the gold. I'll be adding the BCE strictly for online shopping to.

    I got the BCE just before they revamped it to be my default grocery card when groceries are not a 5% category elsewhere. Now that they have the online shopping category, it is going to be my default online card outside of Amazon. I am a big fan of American Express's customer service.

    Yeah, I got the blue cash every day last year. And about 20 minutes ago got an offer to upgrade to the blue cash preferred with $150 statement credit after you spend the required amount in six months and they waived the $95 annual fee for the first year so I’m gonna enjoy the 6% for a whole year and then at the end of next year if I don’t want to pay the 95 annual fee if it doesn’t fit into my lifestyle I’ll just downgrade back to the blue cash every day so I couldn’t get the 350 offer i think it’s 200 right now the offer is if you just apply for it out right but my target offer I couldn’t pass up because I’m not a type of person to just apply for cards and add more accounts to my credit file so it is good to just have patience’s and upgrade offers will come your way to

    I think these cards can definitely compliment each other very well. Most people out there likely spend over $60 a week on groceries, especially with these prices right now, so spending $3200 wouldn’t be too difficult. But then you can compliment the preferred with the everyday when it comes to the online retail purchases which is a pretty solid 2 card setup. Great video Adam!

    • @manleteater1970
      @manleteater1970 Před 2 lety +1

      If the online retail purchases are the only reason you want the card you'd be better off getting store specific cards like the Amazon Store Card. Then there's the PayPal Cashback card which gives 2% back on everything, plus an extra 1% when you buy stuff through PayPal (essentially 3% back on online purchases). If you don't like PayPal though, the Everyday would still be a good option

    I just upgraded my Cash Magnet to the Blue Cash Everyday. I can use the BCE or the regular MR no annual fee EveryDay and between both will have a $12,000 cap on groceries both at no annual fee. If I need more, then I would switch my Green card to Gold at a $25,000 grocery cap and it would be $37,000 which is more than plenty between Gold, the BCE and the no fee EveryDay even though one is statement cash back and the other 2 are MR points earning cards. The $6000 year on gas is good on the BCE. The only reasons I would get Preferred is for the transit and streaming. Transit I get on the Green card at 3x points per dollar. I don't need the streaming perk right now. Honestly I wish they would get rid of that streaming perk and switch it to something else like restaurants or something else on the BCP.

    Hey hi Adam, i might be wrong, but in the section where you compare the value for the supermarket cash back, 6% of 3,200 is not 97… let me know if I’m missing something, I am might be wrong.

      6% of 3200 is $192, but if you subtract $95 annual fee, that is the $97. Was showing what you get if you factor in the annual fee, though that is oversimplified because the card offers other rewards as well.

      That should be a non issue cause you have to pay your bill and make no sense pocketing it
