1996 Mercedes C220 - Transmission Fluid and Filter Change - 722.423 (Part 2)

The transmission model for this car is the 722.423.
Six 13mm bolts attach the trans pan to the housing -
drain plug is 14mm.
Use approved fluid ONLY!!
While you are under the car, look for fluid leaks coming from other parts of the trans housing or the block.
Also consider replacing the steering damper shock located by the steering linkage - • Mercedes w202 c-class ...
Also, inspect your flex disks for cracks or other abnormal wear (transmission will need to be in neutral so you can rotate the drive shaft).

How much fluid did you fill it with after just dropping the pan?

Just the amount that drains out - I had about 2 quarts US

Is ATF 134 ok with old 722.4 transmission?

Right! ATF 134 is the correct fluid for the 722.4 transmission
