Tbh, with how much content that is still missing from the expansion books (xanathars, tosha’s, fizband, sword coast adventures guide) there is so much content for expansions. The fact they left the base game at level 12 leads me to believe we’ll see 1-2 expansions. (13-16 & 17-20) each one diving into a new story, which could be as simple as a singular act (act 4 and 5) and we would see new races, subclasses, feats, spells, magic items, and monsters in each one. Also! Let’s not forget the modding community! If you know anything about the dnd homebrew community (modding for ttrpg’s) 3rd party publishers, there is so much potential! This game is going to be nuts!

I believe they said they wouldn't do that because of how hard it is to do do high level campaigns. The high level spells can be boonkers! Level 12 seems like the right place to stop.
The spells and abilities from 12-20 are literally game breaking. They couldn't figure out how to program the spells to work/game to react.
It will definitely be a type of game that is hard to co-op all the way to the end for the same reason it is hard to schedule dnd games to the end.
Have a solo character and a group character that you play once a week for a couple hours.
Keep spreading the love. Larian had earned it. Can’t wait to play the full release.

Playing Divinity 2 on a split screen with my wife has been the bes cRPG experience in my career. As close as you can get to actual RPG, but with no GM. I hope BG3 is going to be at least as awesome.
Btw, how does it (BG3) handle split screen? For example these dialogue cinematics ?

The game will have that classic D&D level of imagination and choices for the players while bringing it to a whole new level of enjoyment for groups of friends, there is no doubt this game will create memories that are completely unique to a D&D experience which is unlike any other. I cannot wait to try it out and have fun with friends

This guy gets it. I am 2k hours into EA, mostly multiplayer and I STILL find new stuff in the EA that I had no seen or experienced before. This is the best co-op game of all time.

@@LegendaryDrops The absolute best part of this is that Larian Studios isn't about to stop producing games. They'll take everything they learned building BG3 and produce an even better game in the future, whether that be Divinity 3, BG4, or a brand new title.

Hey LD, i just found your channel yesterday and wanted to say congrats. You're doing great with keeping my retention and with such a small channel size. You're going to get big. Keep it up.
I tend to find these sort of games to shine a light on clashes in play-style and pacing which heavily grate on the nerves in multiplayer. But if you have 4 very likeminded friends I could see it being a blast.
I agree with you. I'm currently playing with 3 of my friends on PS5 and I'm actually sick of it. Thank God I have my own solo game going at same time.
I have around 30 hours, I honestly can't wait for the full release of this game. It is incredible. The amount of choice, story, quest lines being so different, puzzles, everything about this game is awesome. I just hope they continue to build on this game with expansions and sequels because I know I will just want more.

Baldur's Gate 1 came out the same year as Ocarina of Time.
Baldur's Gate 2 came out the same year as Majora's Mask.
And now Baldur's Gate 3 is coming out the same year as Tears of the Kingdom.
I don't care who "wins" or why... all I know is that the BG and Zelda series are the pinnacles of gaming for me, and have defined that aspect of my life in both my childhood and now my adulthood. Cannot wait to play this game!!
Played the early access with a couple of classes solo but now I have a couple of friends who are getting it. I sent them this video and now some other friends are getting it. Since we can't play D&D together irl. Great video!
I'm so excited, me and my friends are already planning to roll some co-op only characters to play through together and then solo I'm so ready to be a murder hobo on Dark Urge, maybe do something that's normally really problematic in tabletop like try and go Necro with an army of summons and for co-op I'm already locked in for Gloom Stalker. I cannot wait.
Neither of the people I could feasibly play with have the interest or attention span to continually get together to play through something like this, but I can appreciate the possibility for it nonetheless.
I hope the DM mode thing pans out. That would be really awesome.
It's a shame persistent worlds are a thing of the past. This game could produce some really epic ones

Its kinda unfortunate it looks so good because the hardware requirements will limit the audience somewhat.
At least its coming to new gen consoles several years after their initial release when theres a lot more units out there.

It even started on integrated gpu of my cpu I looked terrible but hey it was running 20 fps low 720p so with a 1050 ti or better it should work it won’t look as good as it could but it should work

Please do not get me wrong, I love Larian Studios and all the work they have done and love BG3 solo (which is easily one of my top games ever!)
But Multiplayer feels empty and tacked on. Tried it with friends a few times and each time we logged off disappointed and went back to our own solo adventures. One of the most basic features that is missing that hurts the experience is not letting both players if they are near each other interact with the dialog and cut scenes or change who is speaking. Same goes with skill checks, if the Bard starts off a conversation and it wants an arcana check, me as the wizard can not do the roll. We were really hoping it would be like a D&D Session or like any of the other CRPG's out there. (Heck this was done forever ago in NWN2).
Right now it feels like like just being drug along on a quest and not really being part of it.
I'm torn on whether I want to play through this game solo on release or with a group of friends

@LegendaryDrops Nice thoughts video! The only thing I have found in BG3 multiplayer is that important cut scenes are often missed by other players as you have to be really quick to click on the ear symbol to watch their cut scene. Often half the scene is over before you realise someone is watching a cutscene. We would like to see a toggle which automatically makes all players to view the cut scene (Something similar to what Solasta does). What do other people think?

Played through the prevoius BG titles in co-op a very long time ago, even failed a semester because of it - no regrets there, lol. Haven't touched BG3 yet, but I can attest to what he said: playing this game in co-op is gonna be a blast. Give it a go, if you have the chance.

I bought 2 copy’s of this game, 1 for me and my wife last month and I told my wife we are going to wait until august 3rd to play so we can experience the full campaign coop, im so HYPED and EXCITED!
i'm a BG1 & 2 veteran and BG3 EA co-op player. Also I Play the current Best Co-op game of all time..Deep Rock Galactic. BG3 is so great Early Access with choices with different ways to affect the outcome...Yeah you are on point! "Rock & Stone" to once again become "You must gather your party before venturing forth!"
My group of 4 that played DOS2 together is pumped for this game. Can not wait.

Game looks amazing. I recently picked it up and played a very short time as I have been eagerly awaiting the full release since it was announced. The more I see, the more excited I get for this one. Divinity: Original Sin 2 was one of my top 5 favorite games of all time and this looks even better. Love how they have included full blown co-op as well. Appreciate the video. Wish I could get one of the few friends I play with to pick it up. Can't wait till release.

How do you actually set up split screen for PC? I’ve been awaiting the full version release but now that we have it I can’t set split screen coop (the main reason I got the game, by the way). Playing with 2 Xbox1 controllers, but when I touch the second one the game shifts from controller to keyboard and mouse. Controller works ok for solo play or online play though
Its good to note, that companion aproval is given only to player that makes the choices that affect it and since aproval is balanced for one person doing all the talking: group needs to either chooce a talker or no one will get enogh aproval to progress companion stories.

My fiance and I both played most if EA together and equally split talking. He had enough relation for Shadowheart, I had enough for Astarion
@@TheFlurryOfLight basing this off of 4 player co op where one of us wanted to do gael romance, we each did things that got his aproval up, basically eavrything and we each endead up whit diferent stage of (low) aproval.
@@ns7495 That really sucks. One major gripe we had about the multiplayer is one person in the MC and everyone else is treated like they aren't there unless you let them do triggers, even then its iffy on scripted scenes.
I was hoping they would add a dialogue option to allow you to swap who has the conversation so it fits more. Like the Warlock talks with the devil, druid talks with Halsin, ect. But now Im worried multiplayer will still feel tacted on, especially if you want to do companion stories
@@TheFlurryOfLight to be fair they May have changed it in 1.0, tho if not multiplayer is more for zeny fun runs (from my experience) than in depth Lore/story playtrough.
Well still game of the decade unless larian puts out another banger and in years to come doubt people will care or even remember this little hickup.

@@TheFlurryOfLight Doesn't it make sense though ? if all the players are competing for a single origin character's approval, the approval will be split between them. On the other hand if each individual of the group is seeking a relation with a different character everyone can improve their relationship with the character they like. I don't think it'd make sense for my buddy to help someone out and I get recognition for it....
Thought this would explain why it would be a good coop game not just a good game.
How many players is it?
Is it a shared campaign, or does everyone have their own campaign ?
Do you keep your own character that you play in different worlds or is the coop character tied to the hosts. Save?
How are cinematic scenes work when in coop? Do you see your friends decision? Is there group decisions or a voting system?
If you're in another part of the world and your party member starts a dialog do you know it happened?
How is the gamepad and local coop on on PC?

@LegendaryDrops when did you get to play this with your friends like this? Is it all early access act 1 only stuff or did you and at least 1 friend get to go to a panel to play more of the game?
what worries me is that if I play co-op with my friend once a week for 2hr's a time and we both play our own solo game in BG3 as well I think the co-op play will dies off. I say this because both of us will progress much faster in our solo plays and go through the story and maps and battles plus loot way before we get through 25% of a co-op play. I know I am worried about something that can't be changed but it is a concern for co-op.

I'm in a bit of a situation that maybe you could provide the answer to.
I think this game would be perfect for myself, wife, and son, but playing multiplayer games now is getting very expensive.
It's already been stated that there's no cross-play, but has it been clarified how split screen will work? I know 2-player split screen is a thing, but will 2-player split screen also be able to go online? That would solve our problem as we would only have to buy two copies of the game.

Still unsure but are you able to do everything in co op? Like all quest, romances, recruit in game characters to be on your team?

I'm likely going to do 2 playthroughs. 1 singleplayer and 1 multiplayer. I played Divinity Original Sin 2 and my party was just all over the place and I ended up missing out on key details because either I was not in the same area or I joined the Dialogue too late with not enough time to read what happened
Same. I did 4 play through of dos2. Doing first playthings with friends is best, then more times for companion stories and playing with moding

Larian has become a trusted company. I did not learn about them until Divinity original sin I & II but those games are easily in my top ten. I never played a Baldur's Gate game, but I trusted the company. And with that I started my early access and man I am hyped for the full release. You are spot on fam.

I will be doing solo alongside a coop run with friends if they want to. Waiting for them isn’t an option so I need to fall back to solo play
My 3 freinds and I played through Divinity orginal sin 2 together and so we are hyped to play through this game together!
How is the multiplayer with just two people? Does it still work pretty well if one player has much more time to play than the other? How does it account for players being at different points of the quests and progression?
the best RPG for CO-OP that doesn't let your party have any involvement in conversations.
How does co op dialog work? Does each player get to speak to different npc at the sane time? Or you both share the same cutscenes?
It is is already the best game for me (already have approximately 1k hours in it and I love it ) Damm I know what I will play on 2023 2024 and probably in 2025 and 2026 and considering there will be very likely DLCs in 2 3 years or so with even more content

@@XxgoodbudsxX well I have free until December so (well in August I am on vacation mid August on gamescom and late August to early September in England (probably got an invitation from a company to go over to England for a few days to a week or so)
Unfortunately until early mid September I will only be able to play on like 3 to maybe 4 days probably less unfortunately
Technically it’s not likely to get DLC (not what Larian does normally)
20 years later and I still play BG1 & 2... so yeah, this will be awesome for the next years

Great to see Baldurs Gate has been done right. BG2 was the absolute daddy of RPG games when I was a kid growing up
got a coop question: in single player you can control up to 4 chars, but if u play coop, is that only 1 char at all times you can control ? example 2 player coop, will the 2 players only control 1 char or 2 ?

There was a time where things were simple and authentic.. Just a random game on a console, few friends, some snacks and hours of fun ahead. Now everything has to be so deep and complicated just to catch a glimpse of enjoyment.. Man I wish I could go back in time 😌
Having finished DOS2 recently in coop and playing Wasteland 3 right now (again in coop), i would say W3 is a bit better due to weighty choices and inevitable discussion that ensues. DOS 2 didn't had that.
Hopefully BG3 will be better in that aspect.
Per recent posts ... Baldur's Gate 3 won't have that kind of a feature (DM Mode). WotC announced a "Digital Play Experience" for D&D though. It is a virtual tabletop that will allow you to do what you are describing.
Yeah, I think I made a clarification comment, I misspoke. WotC Digital is probably the reason there isn't a DM mode; however, I wouldn't put it past the modders to make their own.

This is on PS5 and PC so I'll have to suffer for a while before it comes to Xbox. I have a feeling this is going to be a situation like with Witcher 3 where I knew nothing of the world or the prior games but it became my favorite game of all time. This is starting to shape up to be a generational game.
I'm kind of worried combat will have so much going on that it'll be overwhelming.
I enjoyed Divinity OS, but I ended up geng stuck at one point in the 2nd game after a crazy 40+ min battle that I kept losing. So many variables and environmental things kept screwing me over in some way or another, whether it was roping in more NPC's or unexpectedly trapping party members in some kind of death trap.
After many attempts, I ran out of patience to keep experimenting with different approaches. If BG3 is even MORE variable, I'll probably suck too much to make it through the game 😅

One thing that bothers me is how the game is going to handle 2 players utilizing origin characters, how will the story change? Also,is it possible to fight with the party members? Be it to decide the outcome of dialogue or choices like that
its crazy how i can dump ungodly amounts of hours into this game then do the same thing again but with friends. larian has gone so far above and beyond i really think this entire thing will go down in gaming history
If BG3s huge scale aspect is just to draw more replayabilty I hope the overall story wont suffer.
I still have bad memories of witcher 2. where It kind of forced ppl to replay it to understand the story.
Where as great memories of Bloodlines, where seperate branches depending on character types still kept in line with a tight overall narative.

Lol D4 devs have already tried to head a lot of us off when we were complaining that the game should’ve hit the street with at least some of the features and lessons learned from previous titles and it seems they were a tad salty when we saw passed the cheese reply of stating it’s a new game on a new engine. I think more people will start to see how shallow D4 actually is and it’s ok that we expected more out of a studio that has huger capital and resources.
is this based on the Early Access experience or did you get to play the full release ?
This is the best RPG since the likes of Knights of the old Republic and Divinity OS2.
can someone explain me how the coop works? I would like to play it with my girlfriend. My main question is how do you progress the story and quests? Is it player 1 does all the choices and dialogues and player two is only part of exploration and combat? How can or does the second player interact with the game, story, quests, team members etc?
Nope, whichever player engages in dialog is the one making choices in that conversation; however, you can vote on dialog choices. Furthermore, depending on the races and classes you pick, people/settlements/factions will react differently to you, and some events are unique to each class.
Just as an example, say your girlfriend plays a druid with animal speak. She may discover quests, items, and stories that you never would have access to. There is no player 1 / player 2 dynamic, you're a party, all is equal.
When you come to the peencake dilemma, don't be afraid to eat it all yourself. You will become immensely strong and learn new skills.
It's almost like they modelled this game after playing an adventure of D&D 5e. ;-) Seriously though if you enjoy getting into character with your friends while playing this, or even by yourself you should consider giving D&D table top RPG a chance. Once you happen upon the right kind of DM/GM for you and table of friends or newly met people you will enjoy making memories that will last forever.

I am absolutely looking forward to co-op. The only thing that makes me unsure is how romance will work in co-op. Story, character development and choices matter which inckides romance. Can we still have romance with orig8n characters while in co-op? What if someone is playing one of the origin characters? If romance is still an option, can everyone develop it different characters (or the same, you do you) or can only the host?
Yeah that's something I haven't heard an answer on yet, especially on whether you and your coop friends are doing their own independent story progress while sharing the map world with you or if you are all forced to follow the hosts story only.
Because Larian has supported it's modding community (& therefore keeping people engaged with their product), they have won loyalty.
I think that the only problem i see with coop with these type of games is that sometimes you want to play when your friends but maybe they don't want to.
Then you kinda stuck as you want to continue your adventure but your friends are not free. It acts like a table top type of experience.
However there is a big difference between getting together with food and drinks, seeing each other etc compared to sitting at your home and playing online (even with cameras on). It is just not the same experience and waiting for each other every time you want to play is not that fun IMO
I'm not sure but BG3 should have split screen co op on the same machine.
I love BG3 but I'm waiting for full release so I don't get a feels bad when my save doesn't transfer.
Is the BG3 combat as slow as DOS2? I could only do one playthrough of DOS2 because of how tedious the combat eventually started to feel because it was soo slow.

I'm very torn between the fact i don't enjoy turn based combat and the fact that i really enjoy everything else this game offers. I love deep well written lore heavy rpgs that let you get lost in their vast worlds. I love the fact that this has so many paths, choices, cutscenes, dialogue tied together by an intriguing story. I just don't enjoy turn based combat as much as i would like to. So what do you guys think, should i get it or hold off?
I'm going to be honest, I've grown tired of turn-based; however, this system is really well designed and plays pretty quickly. Plus, the dice roll adds for more interesting gameplay.
I kinda wish the game had a demo for this reason. I'm mixed when it comes to turn based and originally, I was disappointed the game wasn't RTWP like BG1 and 2, but after playing the EA I'm enjoying it far more than I had anticipated.
I will say though, they plan on adding an easy difficulty so that players who don't like the combat don't have to worry too much about it. If you're willing to put up with it and get it over with quickly, you might enjoy playing it on that difficulty since you can focus on everything else.
I'd keep an eye on it when it releases to see if it works for you

When I first bought BG3 in Early Access during 2021 I knew it was going to become a masterpiece. People called me a shill online marketer and said I have no idea what I'm talking about.
